Xperia Z3 D6653 Lollipop. - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a rooted Xperia Z3 D6653, now I there's a Lollipop update. I was wonder how to do a clean update from a rooted phone to 5.0.2. It'd be nice if I can keep my root. Thanks!

Lollipop for D6653 is still not available. The update is for D6603, but its compatible for D6653 and can be installed manually using flashtool. I haven't read reports of problems after doing the upgrade

I suggest not to use D6603 ROM as may LTE modem driver are not same. I was getting low signal all the time. So still will wait for D6653.

still no update here in Indonesia.
Annoying that the Sony Mobile Indonesia facebook page, was apparently the one that leaked the rollout was coming / starting on the 16th March.
Pity that they leaked info that was incorrect, and, then, the message has been deleted.
Hopefully, we get soon

No luck for the Indian Z3 also.

Is lollipop already out for our model ?

No not yet .. manually installing the D6603 lollipop on D6653 via flashtools will work, only screw up is LTE wont work ... rest is fine. Camera quality has gone down though from 4.4.4 . Even volume is lower . I know because I have done it and now repenting. Stick to 4.4.4 till all this problems are solved.

I installed four days ago D6603 lollipop on D6653 via flashtools and I have no problem with the LTE network. Today I installed the D6603 German firmware and I'm very pleased with it.

What about lock screen carrier name ? Most of the times it was like "No Service" but everything works inside.. Did you notice?
What about after German firmware update? What is the exact firmware name please?
Any improvement in sound volume?????????
:crying:

The firmware that I have installed it is 1288-5031 R5C and the sound volume is the same as Baltic version, but the issue with "No Service" disappeared. Sony music unlimited app does not work (in Romania). Battery life is better than in baltic firmware, at least to me. Overall I'm very completely satisfied.

Thanks. So volume will not change
Let's try a German firmware

Anyone had this problem and how can i solve it ?
I tried to flash to default rom several times but the error msg keeps appearing.

Will need a full reset. Do it from recovery (keep tapping volume down on the Sony boot up screen) be sure to back up all your data though as it will erase the phones internal memory.

How to flash rom Japan Au Xperia Z5 SOV32

Hi,everyone.Sorry about my bad english !
I have a SOV32 and unlock code. But I can't flash Docomo rom or Global rom as Xperia Z4 or Z3.
I have tried with the flashtool 0.9.18.3 ~ 0.9.18.6.
With the flashtool 0.9.18.8, I don't know how to use.
Can you teach me ?
Thankyou!
Have you been able to flash ROM on Au Xperia Z5 SOV32?
I also own a Sony Xperia Z5 SOV32. It is SIM unlocked but SMS app, Internet and TV do not function here in Mauritius.
Have you been able to flash another Sony Xperia Z5 ROM althogh the bootloader cannot be unlocked? How did you do it?
Thanks,
Dushan
My answer is yes.
If you need unlock SOV32. The video on youtube helped me a lot whose name is "How to Unlock Sony Xperia Z5 SOV32 from AU"
After you unlocked your phone, just follow the intro of flashtool. It is easy. BTW, the NFC of SOV32 is not suitable for other non-japan roms. You have to force stop the "NFC Service" in the setting>Apps>Show system every time you start your SOV32.
You are my saviour! Thank you so much!

Support For VoLTE

Kindly can anyone help in enabling VoLTE in Moto G 2015 XT1550 (stable Custom Rom). I'm using a sim that has support for VoLTE. Pretty sure it's a firmware thing... VoLTE processing is done mostly at the baseband (MDM9x25 modem) processor level and not at the Application Processor level (SOC - Snapdragon 410).
Moto said it isn't supported, but I believe other similar hardware does, therefore Moto has it disabled... and since modem firmware is required to be signed even with an unlocked booloader, we can't use a different one or modify the existing modem firmware.
See I've flashed stock back again. Now it's working. Now you plz suggest me that " if I revert back to RR ROM and flash the modem files of the stock ROM on RR ROM will solve this issue "???

Screenshot showed up on computer, but not in Tapatalk... I can't tell you why it works on stock and not RR then, unless RR doesn't have support for VoLTE built in it. I am not sure if there is VoLTE support in the CM device tree for our device (or even if that is where it would be found), but I have to assume it isn't, and since all aftermarket ROMs for the G3 use the same CM device tree because it is the only one available... well, you get the idea. If it isn't a device tree thing, it could be in other ROMs. I would suggest trying the "big" ones. AICP, DU, Tesla, or CM13 (official) are your most likely candidates to get VoLTE working, but in looking at the list of features of most aftermarket ROMs VoLTE isn't mentioned at all.

Customised updates from specific providers have no ETA. It all depends on the actual provider you have to add what they want to the firmware. You can always get in touch with them but I have never known anyone getting a firm answer about the ETAs of updates. Best just to wait.
If you cannot wait, flash a 6.0 FTF from a region that has it and just update OTA. You can always flash the one from EE UK once it is released.
Is the standard 7 available ota in the UK now?

Goto the phone and dial *#*#service#*#*
then goto service info/software info and then look at Customization version: (5th one down)
The first 8 numbers will be a code telling you which 'version' you have.
Mine is 1305-6105_R3B which equates to '3 UK'
Yours will tell you which customization you have.
you can use xperiafirm to check which it belongs to. If you cant find it, post it here and I will tell you
Damnit I'm on custom UK.

Flash to whichever one you want, it makes no difference. Different regions and providers may add certain apps or features, that's it.

Yes, you can. You would have to use the Community Flashtool and use the XperiFirm tool inside it to download from another region. I did the same thing a few days ago for the first time so I hope I'll be helpful!

One thing I would recommend is flashing an unbranded firmware from XperiFirm so you don't get any carrier bloatware!

check if the firmware you will flash supports all the bands frequency your carrier use, to have a full signal bar!

I mean, there is only one single sim model so would all firmwares not support the same bands? As all models have the same modem?

well, yeah good to tell you that you can flash any.. but try to find a generic ftf free from bloatware.. those unneeded pre-installed apps.

I tried to flash the Korean firmware the other day onto my European F8331 and it was bricked!
the software update failed.
make sure that your phone is connected to the computer and try again

F8332 is dual sim variant you can't flash F8332 rom in your AU device because Japan device is only single sim variant, you can try F8331 firmware
