I purchased Tasker a long time back. Can I use Tasker to switch lte, 3g based on some conditions?
I am stock, rooted with xPosed and GravityBox setup.

The data toggle of Tasker does not work on Lollipop but you can download and use Secure Settings for free. I use this plugin on my N5 and it works well. Through tasker you can set a shortcut to enable/disable or toggle the mobile data.

Doesn't the default Power Bar widget have toggles for data and GPS?
Barring that, check out Widgetsoid, it has an abundance of toggles you can add.
SwitchPro Widget.
Has the bluetooth button and GPS button been fixed for switchpro?

It does have GPS (the data one is only for wifi) and I'm using it but since I bought power control plus I'd like to keep using its features. To be honest, the only one I really miss is the data(3g) toggle.

I notice on my nexus 7 that there is a quick setting toggle why doesn't the 5 have it? Might just get a custom rom just to add that and flash light to the quick settings.

It's not 4.4, it's tablet vs phone. You don't have the rotation lock with 4.3 on a Nexus 4/Galaxy Nexus either. You'll have to ask Google why that is.
Annoying isn't it. I'm waiting for Xposed to be compatible with 4.4, then I can use Gravitybox mod to customize the toggles like I did with my GNEX.
Or you can use something like Notification Toggle to put all the toggles you want into the notification drawer. I use the Wifi, Rotate, Flashlight, and Mobile Data toggles.
Anyone aware of a app or toggle widget that could be used as a standalone app or in conjunction with tasker to toggle 2G only and 3G preferred?

I'm curious to this as well as it worked previously on my Samsung Skyrocket but when I imported my settings in my Nexus 5 I now get a warning that this feature is not available on this device (or something like that). I've since deleted it but would like to have this function on my device if possible.

I'm on a low end PAYG tariff so manually turn data on / off over 3g. The Moto G doesn't seem to have a quick way of doing this and quick settings don't appear to be customisable... ? Unless anyone knows different ?
Press the signal icon in quick settings.

stock android is like that on every phone
you must use power toggles from play store, or exposed framework and some modules

This takes you to the menu to then toggle it..... I've come from a HTC where you can just toggle via the icon in quick settings since my first android back in the day HTC Legend. I guess thats part of Sense and I'll need to use a 3rd party app. It just feels like such a basic feature though coming from a non-stock android experience.
Swipe with two fingers from the top then tap the network button(middle one), then tap "mobile data"
Thanks all
You could also use widgetsoid from the playstore.
One tap customisable toggles in notification area.
you could also use gravitybox together with xposed to override system default toggle behavior for some toggles (wifi, bt, data, etc)
