hey,
when I'm using Miracast/WiDi my download rate drops immense. It makes streaming youtube etc. impossible.
I tested it with a speedtest app: 0,3 mbit/s when mirroring activated / 40mbit/s when deactivated.
I noticed it on cm11 and cm12 and also on stock rom.
I use a Netgear PTV3000 adapter. The box should not be the problem because I have no problems using my notebook as streaming device
has anyone an idea or a solution or the same issues?

Looking for a suggestion on a android stick device. Im basicalyl going to use it to stream the web on the tv, stream videos from my network. So it MUST support 5ghz wireless N.
So I am looking for ways to improve the streaming from my wifi router to SHIELD. Is there a way to set up a direct router -> shield connection, bypassing the internet, like an ad-hoc network? Failing that, would it help to open any ports on the router for port forwarding? My current issue is I can play Deadpool and castle crashers through Steam big screen mode fine, until after a few minutes there is worse and worse controller lag. Seems to happen in other games as well. Video lag actually seems not to be the problem, although it could be related. I feel like maybe there is some setting in my router that is affecting performance
Here is my setup:
win 7 pro x64
nvidia GTX Titan
wired ethernet PC<->wifi router
dual band asus RT-N66 "dark knight" router running both 2.5 and 5 ghz bands on N only
So it's not a performance issue, and basic streaming works, but the controller lag makes some games unplayable. I have tried changing wifi channels. doesn't seem to help. Any ideas? Or is it mainly that these games aren't officially supported? much appreciated!

The streaming is already direct Shield > Router > Pc, no internet involvement as you mention, only wifi and an ethernet cable. Direct Shield to PC may be possible though in theory.
You can also connect a micro USB otg adaptor to the shield and connect a USB ethernet adaptor to that if you wish to plug into the wireless router via ethernet instead. But that probably wont change anything.
I am running some live tv apps in my android tv connected to LAN and i am loosing connection in between. The same connection problem happens when I am connected to wifi also. I tried 2 different app and same problem. can anyone suggest some solution. I am having android 4.2.2 version
Hej.
I'm confused, I must have tried all streaming apps there is for streaming to WiFi TV and all of them shuts down my 4g connection when hooking up to TV on WiFi. I can not see the point of streaming when loosing my internet connection, I have tried them all, chromecast, bubblepnp, localcast etc and all of them connects to my TV and I can play some music stored on SD but I am not able finding out how to get chrome browser sharing to TV etc or tubio app to play on TV as the mobile data connection is shut down. I'm convinced it is a software problem as what I'm looking for is practically a extended WiFi hotspot. I'm using a huawei g740 android version 4.1.2 phone, Sony bravia TV and a Chinese TV stick name something, it all connects on WiFi so Im stating all hardware works. Please help.
Hello, got a brand new Redmi Note 6 Pro and it doesn't matter how I connect to the internet via WIFI (DHCP or STATIC) the phone keep loosing the WIFI connection if I open two or more apps at the same time - multimedia apps that load images, or videos for example Youtube + Netflix. Or if WhatsApp runs in background and I open VLC the WIFI disconnects automatically. At this point I don't know what to think if is a hardware issue (bad RAM?) or a software / firmware issue, any ideas? Running the latest MIUI (10.0.4.0).
Update: I just realized that the WIFI stops working on my Redmi Note 6 Pro only when I have a Sony Bravia Smart TV on!! If I turn off the TV the phone works fine, no more disconnects. So what can I do apart turning off my tv? Obviously there's some sort of conflict with the Bravia Smart TV connecting to the same router (a 300M Wireless N Gigabit Router Model No. TL-WR1043ND).
This is really strange. I have the same router (running DD-WRT) and a Sony smart TV. And my Redmi Note 6 also loses WiFi... no solution found until now.
