I tried to download Android 5.1 factory image from Google and found out there was none.
So I built one, for testing.
This is a user build of Android 5.1 AOSP with 5.0.1 blobs, so do not expect this to be rock stable.
Gapps for Android 5.1 also missing, you may have trouble getting Play Store to work.
Flash at your own RISK!
1. Download the ROM (XDA DevDB) and extract.
2. Reboot to bootloader
2.1. Unlock bootloader
3. 'fastboot -w'
[THIS WILL WIPE ALL DATA ON THE DEVICE]
4. 'fastboot flash boot boot.img'
5. 'fastboot flash system system.img'
6. Reboot

http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/gapps-google-apps-minimal-edition-t2943330
first impressions from setting up and installing all the apps i had on before hand i can really tell its smother, this is what android 5.0 should have been...
thank you arter for building this, it means i dont have to
The 5.1 binaries for this device arn't out yet are they?
Does anyone have an idea if the 5.0.2 Nexus 7 (flo) binaries will compile and work with the Android AOSP 5.1 source ?
Thanks!

They work just fine. I've been running 5.1 on my flo for a couple days.
I'm surprising there's a lack of posts on this since everyone seems to want 5.1. I guess people are either waiting for the stock OTA or CM. I'm fine with keeping my tablet stock and this will do nicely.

Some users after clean ROM being dead are reverted to the first near stock choice they saw that was the grogg's ROM.
Since the post is pure stock I don't know shy
I have both Roms running both running great!
I am not comparing any Roms here or trying to discourage anybody, just saying...
Sorry if I did posted anything wrong!
•Hit thanks if I helped you..
Can I simply install this over clean rom? Thanks!

Maybe you can but a clean wile is always recommended.Do a backup first.
And you can use Titanium Backup for backing up all things .

Hi there.
Keeping this OP short for now as there will be many more things added in the future.
I have a KANG of Omnirom 5.1 booted and running on the Acer Iconia a510
Bugs so far:
-Spontaneous reboots
-some apps crash
-camera is not working
I have started this thread so that I can get some help from the community making another good ol' stable rom for this old Acer Device.
Not posting links for Supersu or GAPPS yet as there isn't time at the moment.
Again Flash at your own risk.
TWRP 2.7.1.0-LVM is needed to flash this rom.
You can find the download HERE

I saw you forked picasso-m-mf-dev, tell me if you want to be part of the organization, it' cool to improve branches for each ROM and help each other.

Yes,
I started with forking the official omni repos for the A510 but they needed quite a bit to get up to Lollipop. Saw the picasso-m-mf-dev and it was already there. I also forked @Ziyan's kernel as it had a lot of Acer rubbish cleaned out. Z-Kernel zImage should work fine on your CM12 builds with a cm repacked ramdisk as well.
BTW we also got TWRP 2.8.5.1 booting with our repo sources but it needs quite a bit of fine tuning before it will work properly
Nothing new in here ?
Did you start to have some stable build ?
Tried to run this ROM with CWM (version 6.0.5.0+ with LVM), it succeed. After long loading I got lollipop on my old A510 camera doenst work, sometimes it crashes, but still works quite fine, ty 4 job) Workin on debugin now? gonna test for sometime...
What is a good stable android 6.0 rom based. I tried RR but there is often freezes and crashes thats pretty annoying. x.x. Plus I like exploring.
Help. ;~:
Fulmics ROM stock based.
For stock based I would say BlackSoulxx stockmod and Fulmics. For aosp I have no idea.
You can try Fulmics 4.2
OctOS is by far the best AOSP ROM for our device.
Yes Fulmics is the best ROM for G 3 but don't try flashing a custom kernel at the moment they are crape and don't let you boot the device.

I did a search for OctOS, and all I could find was a 5.1.1 AOSP based ROM. Is there an Android 6.0 OctOS ROM available? Since that was the query of the thread. I have tried Resurrection Remix, OrionOS, and TurboROM. I am currently running TurboROM. Each of these have had their issues.
Could you provide a link to OctOS 6.0? I would love to give it a try.

Thanks for the heads up, I will definitely take a look.
'Preciate ya!
UPDATE:
I have been running OCT-M-R1 for a day now. None of the other custom AOSP ROM issues. Right now I am inclined to agree with you. Best AOSP 6.0.1 I have tried yet.
I see some Android devices already have Android 6.1 but it seems the Nexus 5 is still only coming with 6.0.1. Will the Nexus 5 still get official updates to 6.1 this summer? Or is the device getting closer to "End of Life"?
Also, my girlfriend has a Oneplus 1 which recently upgraded to Cyanogenmod 13.1, I suppose which is based on Android 6.1. However, I can't find any 13.1 snapshots, not even nightlies for the Hammerhead on the Cyanogenmod project page: download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=hammerhead
Is it too early to ask for CM 13.1? What about Android 6.1? Does anyone have any information or ideas about that?
Where did you see an official Android 6.1???
There's no official CM nightly called CM13.1 for bacon: https://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=bacon

Its not Cyanogenmod 13.1, but stock rom CyanogenOS 13.1. Its different, and based on 6.0.1
Google didnt announded Android 6.1. Maybe Android Nougat will be, but more probably it will be 7.0.
Nexus 5 shouldnt recieve official Android Nougat update, but u will see some CM or AOSP roms for Nexus 5 based on Android Nougat AOSP code.

Well, there is an image called
Code:
cm-13.1-ZNH2KAS1KN-bacon-signed-88797441b5.zip
on cyngn.com/support
The cm-13.1 part looks like a reference to Cyanogenmod 13.1, but as dekefake already pointed out, it's CyanogenOS which I was not aware of. Also, I just noticed they changed the name in the first column from 13.1 to 13.0.1, so I guess it is just a typo (however, the filename still contains the 13.1 reference).

I did a quick google search regarding Android 6.1 and there are a ton of media items announcing Android 6.1 in June 2016, but also I guess it's just a poor researched reference to 6.0.1.
Sorry for the confusion, but it seems I'm not the only one who is confused here
There are big differences between CyanogenMod and Cyanogen OS, mainly open source vs closed-source & Microsoft apps.
There's no CM13.1 (CyanogenMod ROM), no announcement on their blog and Android Nougat 7 will be the next Android update for Nexus 5.

Wait, I read Android Nougat 7 stock wont be coming unless the community ports it (e.g., AOSP)?

AFAIK the AOSP code is still maintained by Google so we will have a clean version of Android 7 (no need to port from a newer Nexus device => instability).
Anyway, we will have perfect custom roms from Android 7 AOSP branches.
Cyanogenmod 11 unofficial for lollipop bootloader
CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.4 (KitKat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
About CM
CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

@SLATE21&MOTOG what are the differences to this project? http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/development/backtocyanogenmod11-project-t3321681 is this built of the last rom from the link?
what are the latest security updates?
which twrp version I have to use for install?
ty4info
the rom is stable and fast even with pokemon go? hahaha (sorry for my bad english)
Yes, is stable, the lastest security patch are of june on cyanogenmod source. THE difference beetween this rom and the backtocyanogenmod is that this is more stable. For better SOT use my StockKat! Is the best
@SLATE21&MOTOG Thx4info -but the stock kat has not the security fixes I assume
No security fix, but if you are a careful user there aren't problems
is the gps module working in this rom
Yes, gps works fine
@SLATE21&MOTOG are the stagefright-exploits also fixed or is this not possible with 4.4.4 ?
Hi, can you make a flashable patch or kernel only for the screen flickering issue? I hate to lock and unlock the screen for the first time. I like this rom, but i prefer SlimKat. Thank you

You can compile the kernel or use a old one mine (just a cm stock with screen flickering fixed).
You can found in thread in old releases link (for AFH).

Somehow that's caused by flashing the gapps at the same time than the rom, I had the same problem, to fix that wipe your system partition, flash the rom zip reboot, then reboot to recovery and flash gapps
Enviado desde mi XT1032 mediante Tapatalk
Disclaimer: I am not responsable of problems derivate of using the rom, I use myself, it worked great, and I shared it.
This is Resurrection Remix 5.5.9 (Android 5.1.1) for our Bluboo XFire, ported from http://www.pharaohs-team.com/2016/10/resurrection-remix-559-51mt6735.html, and using help of mtkroms and Google, lot of thanks to all
The rom works properly, Video playback and recorder, GPS (Not ever, but works), WiFi, Bluetooth, Games, Audio…
Its stable for daily use, and for me is better than stock, without losing nothing (It has Enginner mode and FmRadio inclusive)
It can have some minor bugs (Only I found is after installing gapps first reboot to desktop not works until opening settings, but then all right).
It comes in a zip file that can be flashed using "Recovery Carliv" from here too, or CWM/TWRP if you find one.
EDIT: If link for Recovery Carliv doesn't work, here are a copy.
Gapps are not preinstalled, you can download zip in opengapps.org and flash it after my zip
Enjoy!

Hi, I'm glad you ported it great
Normally I use the posts of mtkroms, but for this chipset I recommend some guide like this http://www.pharaohs-team.com/2016/10/resurrection-remix-559-51mt6735.html
With this mtk6735 I searched for a rom for this chipset there and modify using there guide and adding some other things
