Missing .img files in archive - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I am trying to manually flash the Android 5.1 to my Nexus 5. I downloaded the facroty image from google and it has only 1 and only 1 files in the archive I have downloaded, called: "hammerhead-lmy47d-factory-6c1ad81e" where are the rest of the files ?? On almost every webiste its saying to run flash-all.bat file but its nowhere in the archive. I have already downloaded the archive 2 times.
What to do ???
Thanks.

Unzip that file, they are inside

Hi,
I renamed it to a zip and then i saw some img files but flash-all.bat is still missing. What to do ? Can i have the command to manually do the flash of the .img files I just found in the archive ???
Thanks.

Unzip, then unzip then look in the folder. Don't rename

Hi,
Found only 5 files in that i.e:
boot.img
cache.img
recovery.img
userdata.img
system.img
No flash-all.bat in them. Also bootloader.img is also missing as suggested by some site. What to do ?
Thanks.

* Don't rename the file. Download again and unzip
* Should have all files required
* If still in doubt, check for videos in YouTube

Flash all, bootloader and radio are in the folder before that one

Hi,
No they are not included. No flash-all.bat at all. I renamed the files to zip and then opened it in Winrar and then I got these files only. Nothing else.
Anyways I found a website which told me how to flash the files manually one by one, and now i am on 5.1.
Thanks.

You read before you post, no radio img file in my archive. Only 1 file was there, which I had to rename and then I got the 5-6 image files.
Thanks.

Impossible.
If you download https://dl.google.com/dl/android/aosp/hammerhead-lmy47d-factory-6c1ad81e.tgz, you'll get a file named "hammerhead-lmy47d-factory-6c1ad81e.tgz".
Extract that (NOT RENAME THAT TO ZIP, if that's what you're doing ), and you'll get the following:
Code:
tango% ls android/hammerhead/factory/hammerhead-lmy47d/
total 609M
-rw-r----- 1 bk201 2.6M Feb 23 19:31 bootloader-hammerhead-hhz12f.img
-rw-r----- 1 bk201 974 Feb 23 19:31 flash-all.bat
-rwxr-x--x 1 bk201 845 Feb 23 19:31 flash-all.sh
-rwxr-x--x 1 bk201 798 Feb 23 19:31 flash-base.sh
-rw-r----- 1 bk201 562M Feb 23 19:31 image-hammerhead-lmy47d.zip
-rw-r----- 1 bk201 45M Feb 23 19:31 radio-hammerhead-m8974a-2.0.50.2.25.img
Now reboot device into bootloader/fastboot interface, and run flash-all (either *.sh or *.bat, depends on the OS you're running). DONE.
*sighs*

Did you check to see after downloading 5.1.0 (LMY47D) that the checksum matched?
MD5 Checksum: 021fa0ed4946e0c7e70e39da301e5a34
SHA-1 Checksum: 6c1ad81eb8b90b329da5ed534af6ef18dea9921c
If not, re download 5.1.0 (LMY47D) and verify checksum again.
You can use this free tool called HashTab http://implbits.com/products/hashtab/#
Best of luck

Checksum etc is all fine. I already downloaded it 3 times. Same thing every time. Anyways after renaming to zip and extracting the in files, I installed 5.1 on my Nexus and its working fine. Though I never got the flash all. bat file or bootloader img file.
Thanks.

One more thought.
Is it possible you have "Don't show hidden files or folders and drives" and also "Hide protected operating system files"
checked in the Folder Options/ view tab?

Dude's not downloading the same factory image than us, FOR SURE.
I'm out.

7-Zip helped
Guys,
Even I have struggled to find flash-all.bat files and other radio images. But then I found that somehow winrar is not able to open the .tgz file correctly. And that's where 7-Zip helped. After downloading use 7-Zip and "extract to hammerhead-lmy47d-factory-6c1ad81e". Go to that directory and perform the extraction again. If you use winrar, it is not able to perform extraction without re-naming it. But if you use 7-Zip directly you will be able to extract. Hope that helps.
Thanks & Regards
Sharma.

What you describe might be true, but that's not our scope. We aren't here to teach people how to extract archives. That's why nobody mentioned it before.

[Q] XXKG5 files for ODIN

Hi,
I need help from kind heart people in this forum if they can help to re-packaged the XXKG5 files from xda-developer into ODIN flashable files like example
CODE_I9100XXKG5_xxxxxx.tar.m d5
MODEM_I9100XXKG5_xxxxxx.tar.md5
GT-I9100-CSC-xxxxxx.tar.md5
I have downloaded the XXKG5 files from xda-developer BUT the package contains files like boot, cache, factoryfs, hidden, modem, param.lfs, sbl and zImage of which I cannot flash with ODIN.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I would like to have XXKG5 on my SGS2.
Thanks.
i guess you extract the .tar file don't you? just double click 7e file that you originally download and use the extracted file as it is. do not need to extract once again.

I didn't. Yes I extracted the first compressed file dowloaded. Then all I get are the files like in Image 1. Since Odin cannot flash the compressed file in Image 1....IF I extracted the compressed file in Image 1 then all I get are the files like in Image 2...
As you can see, either way I can't flash with Odin.
If you downloaded from xda it shouldntt look like that.You only need to double click on the file and it extracts.if you didn't download from here then here it is

Read the first notice part about extracting the file to make sure you understand clearly.

[Q] Can't establish a reliable connection to the Play Store

Hey guys,
I know that many of you have given a bunch of solutions to the error message saying that the play store can't establish a reliable connection. However, I've tried all of those methods and none have worked. I got here in the first place because I couldn't connect to the play store. When I cleared data, I was logged out and couldn't log back in. I've tried editing the host file using total commander,clearing cache/data, and even a factory reset. Do you guys have any solutions? Thanks in advance.
Did you run Towelroot?
If so a friend of mine went into system/etc/hosts and commented out one of the IP addresses and it worked fine. Factory resetting doesn't change back system files to my knowledge.

I'm not sure what towel root is, but that is exactly what I did using total commander. I put a # before the second address. That didn't work. Also, since resetting won't change system files, I tried flashing a factory image. However, when I try to download the latest image on my PC, the download shows up as a document and not as a zipped file. That means that there is no flash-all script to run. I've reached a wall lol if you could think of anything that would work, I would appreciate that. Also, thanks for replying!
Winrarlabs.com and get latest WinRAR and extract the .tgz file with WinRAR to same directory as fastboot. Flash all script will be there once you extract .tgz

Install winrar. Open the .tgz file via winrar and then extract all the files you get there. flash-all file will be among those files

[REQUEST] OTA .182 update Zip

Hi!
I'd like to know where the OTAs are stored in our M2. Anyone that hasn't done yet the update download, and that has Root permissions, can use this app to find where they're stored, and if possible, upload it and post a link to it.
Thank you!
Do you still needed the file, sir ?

Yep. It's for some research
I think, the app didn't work sir. After I wait 30 minutes, none of the files were copied to my storage. Then I try searching using manual method, I found one file, the file size is as large as my OTA update. The nama file is "update-package".
The file extension is not ".zip", in the folder recovery (internal storage). My estimate, the file extension .LZMA or .tar.LZMA or .zipx.
I've tried to extract and decompress in the PC (windows os) using some programs, but failed.
If you still need the file, I'll upload it now .

Great, thank you very much!
Okay, so this is what I got:
The update zip refuses to be flashed in UBL devices. FOTAkernel system is broken after you open the bootloader, which leads us with an unused partition (but that's other thing). The recovery logs just say: WARN: Status Rooted, ERR: Bootloader is unlocked.
I've tried to force it using AOSP Recovery commands
Code:
echo 'boot-recovery' > /cache/recovery/command
echo '--update_package=/sdcard/update.zip' >> /cache/recovery/command
reboot recovery
But just got a big nope.
So, now time to have a look at it. I tried to unpack it several times but no luck. The reason seems to be, very probably, because this is a LZMA compressed file (as 7-Zip reported) but with 2 additions at the end (which corrupts the entire read of it): An unencrypted/uncompressed XML which points out which is the software available right now in the phone (<source>), and which is the version that is going to be installed (<target>), plus, some a weird <generation> section. This is the XML
Code:
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='ISO-8859-1'?>
<metadata version="3.3">
<product>
<manufacturer>Sony</manufacturer>
<model>D2302</model>
<hwplatform>msm8226</hwplatform>
</product>
<update>
<generation>
<version>1.1.2</version>
<date>2015-12-28T12:10:19Z</date>
<rb_version>7.0.15.117</rb_version>
<rb_ua_version>7.0.15.117</rb_ua_version>
</generation>
<source>
<software>
<revision>18.6.A.0.175</revision>
</software>
<customization>
<variant>1281-0464</variant>
<revision>R2C</revision>
</customization>
</source>
<target>
<software>
<revision>18.6.A.0.182</revision>
</software>
<customization>
<variant>1281-0464</variant>
<revision>R2C</revision>
</customization>
</target>
</update>
</metadata>
And, right after that, I can perfectly see a SIN header, so I isolated it and, looks quite similar to the FOTAkernel.sin included in FTFs (330613072905Z010U S1_FOTA0 ‚"0), I personally guess it's a very, very small ELF binary, by the size of it.
So, the problem now comes to isolate the 3 parts, the LZMA file, the XML and the SIN, separetly. After that, I think we can probably have a look insde them.
How about linux os? Can we unpack or decompress that file on linux os, sir? Do you have tried?

Help Im new and i think i soft bricked my phone

So today i wanted to update my s6 to nougat and since it isnt available for my csc (SEB) i downloaded a diffrent stock firmware Russia (SER) then i tried flashing the tar.md5 to my s6 and odin said failed at hidden.img. i also tried other fixes on google like deleting it and then making a new tar without hidden img and it said MD5 HASh value is invalid. Also Smart Switch doesnt recognize my phone! Help pls i am worried
You should extract hidden.img and rename it to hidden.img.tar, then flash that file only via odin.
Thanks

I have the same problem the OP had. I tried your fix, but the newly extracted and renamed hiddenimage file isn't showing up in Odin. Only the original tarMD5 file is showing up?
PS: I used 7zip to extract the hiddenimage file.

This is because you're changing the name of the file but not the extension, try what I posted above.
After extracting and renaming the hiddenimage file to hidden.img.tar, in the part of the folder where it says 'type', it says the file is a disk image file. Is it supposed to be a disk image file?
