Anyone knows of a remote control app to put on an android?
something like logmein for the computer but for android?
It's really frustrating to try to help my parents over the phone where I could just remote in and be done.
THANKS!

hi, yeah sorry i mean to remote control a win7 pc, I cant find anything on marketplace called logmein, only comes up with phonemypc which ive tried and dont like.
How do i get this "logmein" ?
there was a .apk download somewhere here on the xda site, do a search for "logmein ignition beta" or something like that. you will also need a logmein account, its free and you need to download and install a virtually invisible program on your computer.
ok so it would seem that the beta is over (strange as mine is still running fine) but if you go here https://secure.logmein.com/welcome/android/, you might find what you are looking for when it is released, unless anyone else can find the download link.

Hmm the only one I've actually liked is phonemypc. Sure it doesn't have sound and no login support yet, but nothing beats getting to see your pc screen on your phone with 20 fps
I've also tried Remote RDP, but it didn't give me anywhere near the framerates of phonemypc on my part, plus setting up RDP is more of a pain if you want to use it over 3G.

Gmote basically turns your phone into a mouse control for a HTPC...
not the same thing...
Can someone describe the differences between phonemypc and logmein? I currently use phonemypc and like it, but if there's something that would suite me better, I'd switch.

Not true, my friend uses it to control windows media center, you have to make the remote how you want it, he said its not obvious at first but once you figure it out you can program virtually any command in

Believe me, the BEST of all!!
xtralogic.com/rdpclient.shtml
Gmote is a great start: Stream music from the computer to the phone, Control PowerPoint, Use as a mousepad, Use to control windows media player, Use keyboad on phone to type on computer (Don't know why you would but neat anyway), Free version available but only us$2.99....BUT only on the wifi network, not remote thru cell towers..Xtralogic's Remote Desktop Client is a complete RDP with password protect and can be use anywhere!! BUT is US$19.95.....So there are 2 options depending on what suits your needs...Hope that helps!!!

What you should do is google 'RDP' and then see if your definition works along the lines of GMotes functionality.
To answer your question in short, no it doesnt.

I tried a couple of rdc's and Phonemypc was the best. Its one of my three favorite apps. Setup is an absolute breeze and the developer says sound will be added. Picture is great watching video so after sound it'll be perfect.
Hey people, thanks for the comments, I tried gmote it doesnt even recognise a simple .avi file on my Pc, was easy to setup and connect but i need it to play movies.
Does anyone have a .apk of the xtralogic rdp??

Posting of the .apk is not allowed because it is a paid app. But I agree, I have tried every other RDP client for android, and this is tops. If you need great RDP support on your phone, its worth it.

+1, on the free side android-vnc works too
So I've searched for a bit and couldn't seem to find anything so I wanted to pose the question to the forum..
I'm basically looking for an application that I can use as a remote desktop share. Meaning I want to keep the desktop on my home computer active while viewing it and controling it from my phone.
The basic reasoning for this is to use Carputer front end SW to control a Home Theater PC. Carputer front end sw such as centrafuse is a touch interface and being able to use an android tablet or my thunderbolt to control the interface would be great.
What does everyone think? Do you know of an app? Have you been interested in this as well?
Search the market and web for "VNC".

Thought VNC only allowed for PC control not sharing of the desktop. I'm checking on that idea right now.

You are absolutely correct. VNC would do exactly what i'm looking for. Thanks for the input.
Hi everyone!
Sometimes i become tired of swypying for long, and error prone, periods of time and i day-dream about chatting in whatsapp using a physicall keyboard. My big question is: is there any app that allows for remote controlling of my i9003 from my computer? (I would like to see my android screen on my computer and control the phone remotely with mouse and keyboard). I tried installing TeamViewer Quick Support but it does not seem to be working completely ok. Maybe you can suggest another apps and point me in the right direction...
Thanks in advance!
BTW: I´m on stock DDLF2 with BCK (r14fix).

Thanks. I might try that after trying remote control with Airdroid...
I know and use AirDroid and TeamViewer QuickSupport
I used droid VNC server and it works fine.
Here the How To
PS: while typing, look at your phone screen if the preview on your computer lags, all the sent inputs are almost instant.
EDIT:
I guess TeamViewer QuickSupport is pretty much the same. AirDroid won't allow you to use Android apps if I remember correctly, so no Whatsapp with it.
Our new app, VMLite VNC Server, will definitely work fro you:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vmlite.vncserver&hl=en
is this really possible ?
yes, I am sure that VMLite VNC Server will work.

Hi,
I am looking to remote into my phone to do some typing. I have a camera program & I need to enter all the info on the phone.
I tried airdroid but it wont let me actually see the screen. Is there any way to enter data using a windows PC into the GSiII?
Thanks,
Rich

Try hooking a keyboard right to your phone. I saw it was a feature you can hook up a mouse as well. Not at the same time though
I personally like airdroid.
I have airdroid but I dont see how I can use my PC to control my android phone. Teamviewer looks like it only has an android controling a pc.

I've never even heard of this being done. You can control your PC with your phone via TeamViewer or Splashtop but not the other way around as far as I know.
I would just plug a USB keyboard to your phone if you really needed to type stuff out.

Hi, I wonder if there is an app that can use my android phone as a remote control to switch slides on my Asus tablet? I've noticed that there is something like this for the ipad and iphone, and was wondering if there was anything similar for android. Could anyone point me in the right direction where to look?
