Hello
I have lollipop rom with root available, and i like to use folder mount apps to move data and obb from internal memory.
But in lollipop, i cant get the sd write fix, it says not compatible or error, i try several sd fix apps from play store, but its keep it error, i try to search in google, but the answer is for another phone.
Maybe someone can help my problem, thank you so much for the answer
you need to root your device and use SD fix from play store.
otherwise, wait for the app developer to update their app

You can test this:But make a Backup from your Rom or platform.xml
in System/etc/permissions/platform.xml
and in -<permission name="android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE">
add the Line <group gid="media_rw"/>
that helps in the in System/etc/permissions/platform.xml

You can use the build.prop swapping method you need to add, copy and paste these lines on the build.prop located in /system. And you must be root:
Code:
# Switch External With Internal
persist.sys.vold.switchexternal=1
# Storage configuration
ro.vold.switchablepair=/storage/sdcard0,/storage/sdcard1
And please make me the favor to tell me if it worked. If not just delete those lines and save, so your tablet will come back to normal.

no go for me. But, there is always the possibility that I am confused. Will wait for others to try.
CM11 has storage, mount and permissions bugs still to be squashed. Then, and maybe only then will we see a working storage swap. If I ever come across anything, though, I'll let you know

Then I am in fact an idiot. Will try again and report. Many thanks!
FolderMount
I use FolderMount with next to no issues.
However, it would not automatically move the files when linking folders so I manually moved the files from internal to external THEN linked the folders. After that no problem with those folders except;
DCIM folder link caused my Camera to become unavailable and/or all photos taken were corrupted. Once link was removed all worked normally. Now using Dropbox w/ 50gb and it automatically saves all my photos, so I just removed them fron internal memory after that, freeing up a few gbs
Hi,
How can i move game datas (not the apks!) to external_sdcard?
On my old phone -st21i- i used DirectoryBind or vold.fstab (external<->internal) but on m2, no one work.
I'm on stock 4.3 rom, rooted. (4.3 because i can't unlock bootloader to root kitkat)
Pls help
Regards
Try this
There are more ways to move data to external SD. I recommend an app called FolderMount (free on google play) you just link the folder and mount it... Or Xposed module called External SD which didn't work well in my case (blocked access to SD for other apps...)
FolderMount doesn't work, it's reboot the phone when i mount a folder with this.
Another?

Hello, i am starting this post, since there were a number of post already made similar to this, but none could provide a valid solution.
U see i want some files and documents be transferred from my phone memory to memory card. My mobile is Samsung Galaxy Core 2 SM-G355H
I understand Samsung has disabled those feature after releasing Android 4.2.2 Kitkat and above i suppose.
But i read a lot about rooting and what is it.
The main question is how can i achieve to copy/paste files and documents from phone to SSD card.
I hope my question is simple, i could really use some expert opinion here.
Hello, i understand that samsung has restricted the access of SD card from Android 4.2 and above i guess again.
So is rooting a solution for that.
Please i need some suggestion. I have downloaded all the tools needed to root, all i need is some confirmation, i tried posting in there
blog, but they refuse to reply.
I want to know, is rooting device a one time process, if i need to factory recover, will the rooted device still stay in effect.
Do i need to re-root the device.
Give me some suggestion or give me a green light.

Rooting is a solution for this fix, but not always needed.
If u root your device you can use many apps to fix sdcard access ( root access needed ) like SDFix.
Well next thing ( without rooting ) is if u use stock or custom recovery, you can change or owerwritten platform.xml in /system/etc/permissions/ via update zip ( can made it 4 your version ) this is a way without beeing rooted.
the changed lines :
Code:
<permission name="android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE" >
<group gid="sdcard_r" />
<group gid="sdcard_rw" />
</permission>
Code:
<permission name="android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE">
<group gid="sdcard_r"/>
<group gid="sdcard_rw"/>
<group gid="media_rw"/>
</permission>
I can make the update zip for you to owerwritten the default values only for this file, so you will be able to access and copy files to/from SDCard without root.
It's up to you what will you do ...

I would like to try, as you suggested rooted is one way to go, and the method you described seems to be good to, please can u make the update zip file and attach it, and tell me how to update further, i will wait for your attachment and reply.
If your method works, why even go with rooting.
Thank you for your professional advice, awaiting reply.

I don't any other way.
Sorry, actually i hadn't copied your file to the SD Card, which i did later and ran the update.
However, i still cannot perform copy/delete option from the device.

Here is the site, do u think its the right way to do it.

The FS /system and other too is/are readonly (ro) in device, so if u want to delete or copy inside this partition u must change it to rw (readwrite), it's better for you to use some Explorer root based application like FX Explorer with root addon ...
If u have copied the update zip to extSdCard and run the update procedure in stock recovery U should be able to copy/edit/delete files on your extSdCard - Card if the install were sucessfull.
For a check: Install app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nextapp.sdfix and check again things now U'r rooted. Regards

If your sdcard is being mounted read only it's failed stability checks...you should copy your data off and reformat it (preferably on a pc and tell it to do a full format...try using fat32 instead of exfat also)....you may have some bad areas on it.
The idol 3 can be very picky about sd cards...I ended up having to go out and buy a samsung because it hated my sandisk one which has been rock steady in all other devices...the sandisk would randomly not mount at all and have to be reformatted.
