Hi everyone,
So I performed fastboot erase userdata and fastboot erase cache and now my phone won't boot properly.
I had Euphoria OS installed and now it just shows the starting image of this for 10 minutes.
The animation is working and not frozen.
Thanks, Morishno
EDIT: Can be closed. strangly fastboot -w worked

hi guys,
what i have done is the following.
i unlocked the device with fast boot -> worked.
i flashed directly twrp without rebooting the boot loader.
i rebooted into recovery. there i „wiped“ everything and got the error „storage could not be mounted“.
after that everything seems to be screwed up.
i couldn’t boot anymore (stuck in boot logo)
i flashed the factory image from google
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot flash bootloader "bootloader-datei.img"
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash radio "radio-datei.img"
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot -w update "image-file.“zip
the device rebooted and is in the boot logo since 20 minutes….seems not normal..
any ideas what i can do now?
thx,
thomas

Install TWRP, then wipe EVERYTHING inside of TWRP. That fixes it.

Would you be interested in testing a new GUI-based Toolkit that ricky310711 and I are writing? It will have standard options along with:
Screen Record
Backup to PC
Restore from PC
build.prop Tweaks
init.d Tweaks
Build ROM from Device
and a lot MORE!!!!
It's the ****s.
Shoot me a PM if you're interested
Hey,
I flashed the factory images for my Nexus 5 (T-Mobile) and it's stuck on the boot screen (flying dots).
I got the images from here: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#hammerhead
I have fastboot and adb installed and used the sh script contained in the downloads to the flash the phone.
For reference:
Code:
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-hammerhead-hhz12d.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash radio radio-hammerhead-m8974a-2.0.50.2.21.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot -w update image-hammerhead-lrx21o.zip
It didn't boot after about 15 minutes so I flashed it again and am another 20 minutes in now. I think I can probably flash the 4.4.4 image back (right?), but what could be wrong with Lollipop on my phone?
dont flash them flash-all, flash all the imgs individually.
I reflashed from windows 8 and it booted up real quick. Weird.
Mine got stock at boot screen. I went to recovery and factory reset fixed it.
Hi
I have Nexus 5 (Hammerhead) 16GB. After Marshmallow latest update my phone begun to restart randomly, So I tried to do factory reset. When I entered recovery mode It did not show android lying on its back with label "No command" , instead It showed standing android with some rotating cube (or gear) on its tummy. I tried to flash factory image in several ways, using nexus root toolkit and fastboot. I even tried different versions of android to flash but no result. My phone still shows Android with rotating gear on its tummy. Today I found this Thread and did everything that was told but no luck. :crying: If anyone could help I would be very grateful. Sorry for my bad English.
What is "everything that was told"? Did you erase everything then flash everything new? How long are you letting it sit with the rotating cube/gear thing?

thank you for your reply.
I used this commands as it was described
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot erase system
fastboot flash bootloader "name of bootloader"
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash radio "name of radio"
fastboot reboot-bootloader
astboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash cache cache.img
every operation was successful.
I waited for this rotating gear more than 10 hours, nothing changed Still shows same
When I click power button + up volume key It says "Formatting /data"
Did you erase and reflash userdata img file?

yes I did that, but still shows Android with rotating gears.
It does not matter whether I start my phone normally or boot a recovery mode It still shows this Android animation.
Does the phone's bootloader remain unlocked after rebooting?
Hi, this is my first time making a post, ok here's the thing, a couple of days ago my phone run out of battery, when i come back to charge the phone, this just get stuck in the Motorola logo and don´t turn on, i never make nothing like root or flashing roms, the phone os was all stock Android 5.1; so i look in the internet for possible cause and i find that it was a bootloop, i try to get in to the fastboot flash mode to make a reset with the factory option but just get directly to the motorola logo and dont do nothing, so a try with the recovery option and gets in to the android system recovery <3e> and try the wipe data/factory reset but doesn´t work. I try even via computer using the minimal adb and fastboot to erase the cache and the userdata with the commands and doesn't work, still appearing the motorola logo. so i found that i have to install the original rom again but first ill have to unlock the bootloader for my device, so i did it, i unlock the bootloader and now appear <Device is UNLOCKED. Status Code: 3> and now appear the poster WARNING BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED instead of the motorola logo; then i search for the stock rom for my device and i find this one XT1040_PEREGRINE_RETBR_5.1_LPB23.13-8_cid12_CFC.xml.zip (i know that my device is peregrine because i remember saw it before in the settings but not remeber the hole name), so i make the installation with adb tools like the post say and make this commands:
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash motoboot motoboot.img
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot reboot
when its over i press fastboot reboot, but then appears again the WARNING BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED poster, i try to make it again, bus still appearing, i try more than 10 times, but still appearing.
sorry if the post is too large but i try to explain everything so you guys can help me because im desesperate with this, thanks.

If your goal is to re-lock the bootloader: try the command: fastboot oem lock
However, I don't see that solving your problem and may compromise your ability to restore to stock. Instead check this link and follow the install directions EXACTLY:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/4g-development/rom-stock-motorola-4g-lollipop-rom-t3142816
eg. for Canada choose: XT1040 (Note: for Rogers/Fido - confirmed)
Retail Canada 5.1 ROM (Untouched) (531mb) [Download]
i.e., you want the untouched version for your specific region.
Good luck. S
My Moto G 1st Gen 2013 (XT1032) is stuck at the first boot screen even after wiping user data and reflashing it with stock firmware.
It was an untampered model (non-rooted, with “Status Code: 0” factory-locked bootloader, no-carrier, non-SIM-locked), with whatever latest OTA update Motorola ever shipped (Lollipop, I believe), officially updated all the way from whatever the first Moto Gs sold at Amazon.es shipped with—4.something. Out of the blue, one day it rebooted and stayed in the screen with the blue marble with an M on it.
To fix it, I have repeatedly tried:
wiping the cache
wiping user data
unlocking the bootloader
reflashing stock 4.4.4, 5.0.2 and 5.1
wiping cache + user data yet again
All those tasks complete without seemingly meaningful errors, but after that the phone will still just light up into, now, the “warning bootloader unlocked” screen and just stay there. If, from Recovery, I power down while connected to the computer by USB, it will restart into what will be now be a flat-color version of the circled M with “Powered by Android” below it, but still stay there. Force-restarting it, will bring back the “warning…” screen, and not get past that just as well. I've left it there for hours, both the first time it got stuck on the blue marble screen and with the other two startup screens.
The specific firmwares I tried were:
RETAIL_XT1032_4.4.4_KXB21.14-L1.61_cid9_CFC.xml.zip
XT1032_FALCON-RETEU_5.0.2_LXB22.46-28.1_1_cid7_CFC_1FF.xml.zip
XT1032_FALCON_RETEU_5.1_LPBS23.13-56-2_cid7_CFC.xml.zip
I flashed those firmwares by booting into Fastboot Flash mode. I got fastboot on Mac OS X 10.10 by installing Homebrew and running brew install android-platform-tools.
As per each firmware's XML file, these are the commands I used to flash, for instance, stock-5.0.2:
Code:
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash motoboot motoboot.img
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase userdata
and these for stock-5.1:
Code:
fastboot getvar max-sparse-size
fastboot oem fb_mode_set
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash motoboot motoboot.img
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.0
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot oem fb_mode_clear
After flashing, I re-wiped cache and user data by booting into Fastboot mode again, from there going to Recovery, and there chosing wipe data/factory reset.
What else can I attempt? How can I even attempt to diagnose what is wrong at all?
EDIT: Just tried reflashing 5.1 for the 25th time, this time using mfastboot instead of fastboot (downloaded from the thread at Moto G General [GUIDE] Moto G - Restore stock firmware, linked as mfastboot-v2.zip and actually named osx-fastboot when uncompressed). After rebooting into the “warning…” screen and leaving it there for some minutes, it changed into the animated blue marble M logo (with concentric waves as like from water drops) and finally booted into the “Welcome” wizard!
