Dropbox - Storage full or unavailable - Verizon HTC One (M8)

After updating to Lollipop, I can't open files from Dropbox. Storage full or unavailable error. i have over 10GB on internal & external storage.
Has my storage been locked? anyone else having this issue?

Is anyone using Dropbox successfully with Lollipop?

Thanks.
I used your Lollipop RUU and now everything is fine.
I'm thinking that somehow in the upgrade process my storage permissions got jacked.
The biggest pain is re-installing all my personal and work email accounts.

No, I didn't know about those. can you post the link? will come in handy with the other two phones.
Your posts are very helpful. It would be great if there was one central thread listing ALL the available files for the M8 with a description of when to use., from Fixes to RUU. Patches and Un-patches.
Title: "Everything M8". A one stop shop would save so much time. It could even be a closed thread.

They are.
No need for two threads about the same subject though.
Edit: THREE* threads!
Android can back up apps to the SD. Theres a $5 app called MyBackUp Pro that doea just that so dont spread false information just because you can't research. Rooting just gives your more options.

Nice link. Thanks for the info. I wonder if the issue 1151 will be resolved with something built into Froyo. How should the majority of Android owner be able to install programs on SD card if their OEM don't give them the Froyo upgrade? Will Google also provide the fix by way of a separately installed program for the non Froyo users? Any info on this?

I doubt Google will provide a way to install it separately but I'm only guessing. Someone might know some more?

[mod] [x-post] Hide / Rebind Option Menu

Mod is listed under the international version of the one x, but i wanted to repost it over here so the rest of us aware of this awesome mod.
Original Thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1582506\
Basically it gets rid of the option bar at the bottom of the screen on non-ICS apps/games and makes the multitask/tast switch button, the new options menu.
Long pressing the home button becomes the new switcher.

Flashing an RUU does not erase files on /sdcard... I'm assuming you have them backed up in Titanium Backup? So this method should work for you.

I flashed the RUU and my music and photos are still there, but I lost all my apps because there stored somewhere else on the device (thanks HTC), at least that's what I thought.

That's what Zonk7 meant. Of course it wiped your apps. In order to be able to use most apps while SD card is mounted as USB drive, the apps are not stored in the SD card.
Hence the comment about Titanium backup.
Simply restore your apps after you RUU from the titanium backup you have in your SD card.
the mod should work for us Rogers users though, shouldn't it?

[How to]LG G3 correct trouble accessing external sd card...

This is NOT an issues with your LG device, rather it was a decission made by Google that will most likly be fixed in Android L.
If you're rooted or plan on rooting your G3, this app from the Play store will easily fix access for you.
This app is what I used and it worked fine within seconds. However if you would rather do this manually, follow these steps:
I use Root Explorer , however, most any file manager should work.
System>etc>permissions>platform.xml
Then add the following, to the WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE section.=:
<group gid=”media_rw” />
Thanks Tony! And sorry about the S4 again
SD Fix
I just rooted and used one of the SD fix apps. It's easy and you can always flash back to stock rom, if you need to.

This version (AT&T) has no alternative roms. Please don't confuse the issue by saying "flash back to stock rom".
Glad this helped you with your sd card.
I think he was referring to flashing the stock Rom with flash tool to reset the root counter
Yep there is a stock Rom and you flash it with LG flash tool. Don't see anything confusing about what I said. If it confused someone then they can ask questions

While stock firmware is a rom, it is best to call it firmware. this is mainly for the sake of new users becoming confused and looking for roms to flash. This would be where one need go, in the case of any mishap.:good:
This all said, rest assured to those looking at this thread, using one of the apps from the market will not corrupt your system.
What sd card problem is it? I just bought it last week so I am not aware of it. And Google Play is link not working.
Copied from androidcentral
Why your SD card doesn't work the same in Android 4.4 KitKat, and the reasons for the change
"Curse you, Google! Your KitKat update broke my SD card!"
Poke around the Android section of the Internet and you'll hear something similar. Users like you and me are in an uproar because they updated their phone to Android 4.4 KitKat, and now the SD card support has changed. Apps no longer work, folks have problems with cameras and music players, and while everyone else is saying "Oh, yeah. That's how it works now," nobody warned them in advance before they grabbed that update.
There is a lot of push against these changes, with petitions and threats of grassroots movements that threaten to show Google the error of its ways — even a very popular developer that I won't name has their PR people sending out requests for blogs to write about evil Google.

If you want a unlocked ls996 Sprint flex

Anyone with rooted 5.0.1 and with T-Mobile and AT&T if you could please pull your system folder from root explorer or some other file explorer that lets you do it and upload it for me. I will try and find a way to get the Sprint flex 2 (ls996) to run these system apps and have a full unlock for people trying to use the ls996 on other networks.

I havent gotten anywhere yet justin, still looking for an answer, but seeing that some one from the G4 might help with 5.1.1 root. Fingers crossed. also, ls command is showing perms denied through adb/terminal output with SU functions.

I've used my phone a bit, is 5.0.1 rooted, and has a few apps on it. I'm newish to android, especially to rooting and unlocking. Is mine useful, and if so how do I upload it, just copying the folder contents onto an sd and uploading onto google drive would work?

Hi, why do you need the att and T-Mobile version? You can't do it with the international version h955? BTW I have the att version but I was thinking it possible to run other /system on it or this is only for Sprint version... Like att h950 with h955 system...???
Thanks
Edit: reading again the first post, I see you want to mod some system apps... not all system folder
Sent from my LG-H950 using Tapatalk
One final question, I'm logged into google and different stuff, none of my personal info will be in the system folder like texts, numbers, etc, right?

Nope... That stuff is stored in the data partition.... That stuff has nothing to do with system partation.. So ur safe.. All there is in the system folxer is what the phone is when its new or after a factory reset... Everything you do from the first button u click is stored in the data folder... Hope you understand
Alright, sent Justin a .zip of the system folder. However, as I mentioned to him, when I tried to copy the folder it would always end in root browser saying the operation failed, though many of the folders and items, 1.5gigs worth, successfully were copied. I'm planning on selling this phone in the next couple days for other reasons, unfortunately, but I hope I can help in others unlocking their phones from Sprint.
No problem. I got what I need. Thanks everyone

It's going to take sometime. Have to port the att image to the sprint image. Without a recovery it is quite difficult.

Sure

[HELP] Internal Storage not accessible

Hi,
Since a few days I'm unable to see any data in my phone via gallery or file manager or any application, and I'm unable to save any data to internal storage. (example: I'm able to use whatsapp for texting, but I can't receive/send any audio/picture and I can't access the old ones).
And I keep getting this error message:"com.android.providers.media.MediaApplication keeps stopping."
I don't know if that's what causing it or if that's just a consequence of not being able to access internal storage.
I can still see all the used storage from settings though.
Phone has unlocked bootloader, but no root/custom rom/recovery.
I saw other Oneplus users started getting the same error these days... (I have a Oneplus 6, but others have different models like Oneplus Nord).
Someone resolved by wiping system and they were able to retrieve storage content and functionality, but they lost apps data, I'm trying to find another way since I have an unlocked bootloader.
A user on stackoverflow suggested I should clean the com.android.providers.media.MediaApplication app data to regenerate the database, but I couldn't figure out how to do it
I tried cleaning media and media.module packages (not media.MediaApplication) from adb but no luck even if successful.
I tried removing "com.android.providers.media" (not media.MediaApplication, I couldn't find that one) folder from data/data with twrp file manager but no luck...
Is there a way to specifically clean "com.android.providers.media.MediaApplication"?
If anyone has any other suggestion on things to try, post it here please.
