[Q] Can't install certificates on P900 (KOT49H – 4.4.2) - Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I installed two CA certificates needed for the university wifi (eduroam). Then, when I tried to install the private certificate, something went wrong (it only says 'installation program for certificates has been stopped' or something like that ["Installationsprogram för certifikat har stoppats" in Swedish]), so I cleared all certificates and tried to start over.
Now I can't install a single certificate, but receive the error above ('certificate installation program stopped'). I could, however, install the private certificate (PKCS#12) through the file manager, but the file manager does not recognize the .crt certificates.
Rebooting does not help.
EDIT: Installing the .crt files with ES File Explorer solved the problem. Apparently, Samsung's own file manager s**ks.

Did you try to open the file explorer via activesync? Or try to remove your memory card and put it back again?

Intellisync and the Raphael (Installation tip)

For those of you who are stuck with Intellisync as your work mail client, I discovered a trick for getting Intellisync and the Fuze/Touch Pro to co-exist better.
When you're installing the SyncClient, the install will halt when it tries to delete zlibce.dll. You have to hit 'Retry' or 'Ignore' twenty times (literally) to get the install to get past that point. The install will then successfully complete.
The install will then force a reboot and bring up Intellisync so that you can configure your mail access. At this point exit Intellisync. Look for zlibce.dll in the \Windows\ folder using a good file management program like Total Commander. Open its properties and deselect Read Only and System. Then delete this file. Open Intellisync again and configure for your mail system.
If you look in the \Windows\ folder, zlibce.dll is still there, even though you deleted it. If you were particularly perceptive, you may notice that zlibce.dll now has a different date. Before installation of Intellisync, zlibce.dll is in ROM. This explains why the install can't delete it. You can't delete a ROM file (at least without flashing the whole ROM). However, you can write over it. This is what the Intellisync install does. However, it doesn't really write over the top of the old file. It writes a file with the same name and changes the file system pointer to that new file. The ROM file is still sitting there, pointless.
However, the zlibce.dll that Intellisync insists on installing is a crappy, old version. When the crappy zlibce.dll is deleted, the file system will point back to the file in ROM. This cured most of the bizarre behavior of my phone after installing Intellisync.

[Q] Android - How to open a file directly from a server.

Hello everyone,
I'm an android user, with a Galaxy Nexus running 4.2.1.
I have a QNAP NAS which I can easily access from my android phone via WebDav or Ftp.
Currently, when I select a file (doc, xls), it downloads the file to my phone and then opens it in in it's respective application.
When I edit the file and save it, the changes are only made to the local file which was downloaded to my phone. I then have to upload the file back to the server and overwrite the existing file. Such a pain!
Are there any methods or applications that will open the file directly from the server? Such that edits and saves are done on the server instead of on my phone?
Thanks,
Daxton

try File Expert, I think could help you.
Thanks Ikubik,
Unfortunately File Expert doesn't work.
It connects via FTP and gives me a directory listing.
However, when clicking on a file, it says "Opening Directory..." and then does nothing. It doesn't even appear to download anything either.
This is really chapping my a**. You'd think this would be possible??
I've tried FX file manager - connects via ftp - only opens files as read-only
Solid Explorer - connects via ftp - saves files locally for editing & changes are not made on the server
X-Plore, couldn't establish connection
Kingsoft Office - Has WebDav support which refused to connect
ES File Manger - Same result as Solid Explorer
How to people manage their files on the go?
I want to get away from online cloud services and manage my own data. Apparently, this is more difficult that I thought.
I found an application call FolderSync which keeps your server files synchronized with your android. But, it downloads all of your network files to your phone. I've got 13 gigs of documents = no thanks.
Any other suggestions?

[Q] Note II Toolkit problem.

I recently tried to download and use the Note 2 Toolkit to install drivers. Whenever I try to open the installer on my computer it says "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." I've tried moving the .exe into different folders and tried "opening as administrator" but nothing will work. I am the only user on my laptop so i don't understand why i don't have permissions to it.
