On Hey guys! I was just curious if i can flash an FTF file of another device on my M2 Aqua. For example a Z3 FTF. Would it brick my device? I leave this thread as an example for those who cannot get my idea. http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...e-mode-depending-kernel-t3047554#post59283192 Thanks in advance!

NO you would soft brick your phone z1 and z1 compact have got same hardware and same firmware build that's why it's possible to cross flash them.
Do NOT try do this! You WILL BRICK your phone, unless you really don`t need it as a phone, only as a piece of plastic and glass.
Soft brick?
It would be great if only soft brick would happen...
If you flash full ftf, with kernel, TA and modem - you'll hard brick your device for sure...
There are ways how to prepare and flash other devices firmwares but that preparations include porting and adjust many files and apps...
In one sentence..
There's reason why Sony is releasing fw for each device separately... ☺
OK Thank you, guys for the help! Have a good one yall!

In best case you have a single sim phone, in worst case you will brick your phone!
I don't know exactly what will happen, but i would say: don't try this! I think you will brick your phone!
Two threads asking the same thing within what, two days?

this thread doesn't answer me very well ... it's talking about stock roms ..
D2303 & D2302 have different CPU chipset so i can't install the stock of D2303 on my D2302
i am talking and asking specially about the custom roms and the mods
like CM .. can i flash the CM11 of D2305 on my D2302 ??? ( D2305 has the same cpu chipset & also i don't need the 2 sim cards i only use one )
You can try and softbrick your phone if you want to, I'm pretty sure the bootloader, unlocked or not, has some sort of compatibility checking and if you flash the wrong version you will see the same thing as posted in that thread. Feel free to prove me wrong though.
Hello everyone! Seems we're going to get root soon on locked bootloader in lollipop, so we can backup the TA partition before unlocking. The question is, can we downgrade from MM to LP without unlocking the bootloader?
You know how google, do you? You can, download the Firmware and flash it via Flashtool.

Yes, I did google. Saw a couple of post about the Z5P, but I'm comming from motorola and they are a little bit special when it comes to downgrade, because of the bootloader. So I want to be sure because I have almost zero exprecience with sony.
Anyway, no need to be rude. Thanks!
You can downgrade with no problems bootloader locked or not as the above poster said flashtool and xperifirm is your friend. I don't have access to links atm

I'm new to this forum so please forgive me. When I bought my Z5 from Vodafone UK, it was running Lollipop 5.1.1 and ran all the apps I wanted flawlessly. Since the update to Marshmallow, ACR and NetVu ObserVer now do not, the developer of ACR cannot work around this so I need to back date the firmware. I have downloaded XperiFirm and Flashtool but can only find 32.0.A.6.200 for EE. I would have preferred the stock Vodafone firmware, but will the EE one do?
any firmware will do as long as those apps work. some branded firmwares have differnt splash screens. thats pretty much the only difference
Thanks for your reply, I'm not bothered about any splash screen but something I noticed is a file named simlock. As EE lock their phones to their network only I take it this file needs omitting?
Regards, John.
Question is, what inside the box for Singapore users? Device is F8332 XZ Dual. I purchased online and found something strange until I questioned about the genuinity of my device.
Mine got earphone MH750 and standard charger UCH20.
Is the SG version really get that straight from the box? Thanks.
Ur not the only one buddy...I got the same ****y earphones like u and same charger as u...earphones are the same since Xperia z3...dont know why Sony made a decision like that ,probably to cut the cost of the phone and so on...it s a shame that firms like Samsung gives u Hi-end earphone while we get a 3 year old earphones on xperias.... THANKS Sony thats all i can say.
Thanks for the information man. So you also got in ear earphone MH750 and standard charger UCH20 right? One more, can you please help me take screenshot of *#*#7378423#*#* then service test then security? My XZ Dual didn't have Marlin Keys and has Factory Data Reset: Masterclearconfirm status. I'm afraid this is not genuinely new device and might complain to the seller.
Thanks in advance.

I'd like to ask
does anyone on this forum ever trying to flashing Xperia XZs firmware on XZ?
is it can be true?
if its failed, what gonna happen to the phone?
hope you guys can answer it
thank you
Even Dual SIM version do not work properly, XZs firmware won't work at all. They seem like same phones, but their RAM capacity, camera (and probably eMMC/UFS) are different. So, if you wanna make your phone brick do it

Thanks buddy!, appreciate it! :fingers-crossed::good:
But as I said, this firmware from XPERIASITE.PL.. I already flashed it and it caused my device in bootloop. That's why I said dont provide XPERIASITE.PL firmwares. If you have firmware files that BEFORE packing to FTF I think I can pack it correctly because bootloop may be due to incorrect creating of FTF.

I haven't rooted my device and it's still on original condition, locked BL. Just wanted to go previous stock rom. I want system.sin file of firmware of 50.1.A.11.40 Hong Kong firmware. I don't want to root or unlock BL. :victory:
You can extract sin files from FTF using sin extractor or flashtool.
I think you can't back to previous version when the BL is locked, u have security problem. That file work fine with flashtool or emma. Try to use xperia compagnon for repair your phone with New security patch.
Ps : if you have informations of relock BL for this série inform me plz !
