[Completed] [Q] skinny nz v795 - XDA Assist

Hi I am completely new to this and am having trouble finding the right threads, so I apologise in advance if I am doing something incorrect. I have (or rather my son has) a ZTE V795 ANDROID VERSION 2.3.6 BASEBAND VERSION MOLY.WR8.W1315.MD.WG.MP.V4.P11
2013/09/13 14.37 KERNEL VERSION 3.4.5 BUILD NUMBER V795_T01 which I believe has a very small non-sd card internal memory. It also has a new 16GB external sd card memory. I have a Windows Vista computer dual booted with Lubuntu/linux and another running Windows 8.1 which I can hook up to the phone if necessary. First I would like to create a recovery image of the phone, so I can restore the phone to its current state, should I get something wrong. Then I would like to root the device (Does Framaroot work on this model?) with an aim of swapping the internal for external memory (understanding that it voids warranty etc.). The final icing on the cake would be to expand the "RAM"/cache, again using the sd card in place of the internal memory - please excuse any incorrect terms. Has anyone attempted these things before, and if so where can I look/ Thanks in advance,. Rob.

There is no forum for your device on XDA, but inside the ZTE Blade forum, there is a thread for questions about non ZTE devices, you can find it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1987960. There you should redirect your question. Good luck!

any help please (flytouch 3)

Hi guys just bought my first android tablet from ebay its a 10.2" TABLET PC,SUPERPAD 3 ,FLYTOUCH 3,ANDROID 2.3, 8GB. I have been having a few problems getting the sd card to load. I have tried 4 different sd cards and none of them work. When i insert the sd card it pops up reading sd card then nothing i go into the settings then to sdcard & device storage and all that shows up is internal device storage no sd card. I have tried to use apps2sd but that doesnt work either. I contacted the seller and he told this was normal and i would have to use a file manager to locate the sd card on the tab.
I am at a loss here as i have rooted my hero and my galaxy s2 and never had a problem using my sd cards or app2sd or anything like that. I am just wondering if this means the tablet could be a clone or a fake.
I would be grateful if someone could please give me some help or information on this
Thanks
Well, the first thing I would do is attempt to follow the seller's suggestion. Can you reach the SD card via a file manager? If so, perhaps it's worth reloading your OS (though I'm not sure how to do it on your tablet).
To address whether or not it is a knockoff, the general rule is:
If the price is too good to be true, it probably is.
Here is the firmware for the tablet
Model number : Android Tab10
Android Version: V2.3 2011-12-19 (001112)
Kernel Version: 2.6.329 [email protected] #289
Build Number: FRF85B
I had same problem FlyTouch2 but i tried low speed SD card. 4GB and 2GB and after 3-4 reformat those cards worked. I format those cards in device.
Class 6 card never worked.

[Q] Using SD Card as main - Freelander PD10/ ALPS ICS 4.0.4

This may have been covered elsewhere, so my apologies if it has, and I have missed it.
I have the Freelander PD10 8GB with dual sim. I want to use the extrnal SD card as the main storage for apps like Kindle as the number of books and PDFs I carry has tended to fill the internal SD card.
I have tried apps like link2sd without success.
The system details show as
Android Version 4.0.4
Broadband Version MAUI.11.AMD.W11.50.SP.V!*.2012/05/29 11.46
Kernel Version 3.0.13 [email protected] desktop #1
Build number ALPS.ICS.MP.V2.2
Many thanks in advance
Swinburi
Looks like you might have the same phone as I have (PD10LT8D -> dual sim + GPS).
I'm rather new to Android (mmmmm.. let's say tablets), but I found that under /data/data some things are still stored (cache?) even if the app is moved to SD.
You could (you need root for this): You could make a softlink from /data/data/<app-directory> (I would test it with your app (Kindle) only, and not the entire /data/data directory, since I have no idea whatsoever if it is going to like that).
Please always be carefull, when doing this stuff, it is your responsibility. And.... backup your data!

[Completed] Cheap Crappy Chinese Tablet Doesn't Recognize Internal or External Memory

Second time to try and fix this problem so sorry if you've seen this before:
OK, so I have mucked about with my cheap crappy tablet from China and long story short it does not recognise the internal phone storage drive of 59Gb and it also will not recognise any external SD memory card, although it does detect when they are inserted, it just shows that no memory is available. All I am left with is a 3.7Gb internal memory.
The error occured when I tried to get apps to install directly to the phone memory, not realising that Android Lollipop already has this functionality burnt in (guess I should have checked the settings first), anyway, using the ADB process that's outlined in a process guide I found online (I can't post the link in this forum though) I managed to completely wipe out my Phone Memory and External SD Card Mounts. I have done factory re-sets and even tried flashing a new ROM except that this is such a generic crappy chinese tablet there is no custom ROM available to install on it.
I'm not sure where to go from here, when I plug the tablet in I get the tablet showing up as a device attached to the computer, but it's memory bar is completely red.
Does anyone know if there is a boot recovery option that will effectively re-mount all the internal and external memory drives of this tablet? Details of the tablet are below:
Model Number Samsung T950S (Although there is no way Samsung had anything to do with this tablet)
Android Version 5.12
Baseband Version MOLY.WR8.W1449.MD.WG.MP.V6.P13, 2016/01/06 10:34
Kernel Version 3.10.72+ [email protected] #1
Build Number K960_vKB011B_20160105
Serial Number 0123456789ABCDEF

[Completed] ZTE Citrine(Z717VL) Custom rom or a way to use SD card storage as Internal storage

Got this phone recently from tracfone. great phone for the price. Small internal storage, 8GB but after all the system stuff more like 3gb. So this leads me to my problem. I'm still an android noob didn't know how SD cards worked with
Internal storage thought apps would just install to it, but it seems I was wrong. So I did some researching it seems android 6.0 lets you use the sd card as internal storage. This phone came with 5.1. Then I started to look into rooting the phone and getting a rom of 6.0 put on it. I soon found out this phone is like the red headed step child of ZTE phones. No official support, the phone isn't even on the ZTE website. Cant find any custom roms for it. So im stuck I like the phone Its just hard to work with that limited of internal storage for apps. Any help would be appreciated.

Good luck and welcome to XDA!

All I want is for my SM-J500Y to work and be able to runs a few apps!

Hi,
I have the 8Gb version of the Galaxy J5 (SM-J500Y) and am experiencing the same problem of low internal memory that everyone else seems to be. I have a 64Gb micro SD but my computer is not recognising an SD card in the built-in SD card reader (nor does it recognise the internal camera but that's a separate issue- since windows 10 upgrade)
After doing a little research, I think I understand that MiniTool Partition Wizard should see the SD card when USB linked if it is first rooted (I could be wrong). Other option is I could go buy a card reader or get the reader working. Tips welcome.
Either way it needs to be rooted before I can use Link2SD. As I understand it, I can root the thing, but only from Android 5.1.x builds. I tried rooting it from Android 6.1 and killed it. Was able to resuscitate it with the Kies App, but can only recover it to the latest Android (6.1)... so I end up at square one: unrooted and not able to root.
How do I get it working in Android 5.1.x so I can root it? How can I partition the SD card (preferably by getting the internal reader working)? And then which is the best ROM to flash? I'm leaning toward the Cyanogenmod 12.1 I found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...m-cyanogenmod-12-1-samsung-galaxy-j5-t3468830 mostly because it seems stable and lite.
Help please. TIA
Anyone?
Even a little help to get me started would be awesome...
