Hi,
In MTK device [MT6572] I want to change apk e.g. Camera app or Keyboard app from a custom rom. How can I change it?
If I just paste a camera app from another custom rom is it will work? if not then how can I make it work.
I also want to change Keyboard of custom rom.
Please help me to do this.
not sure.. no idea about it..maybe just changing the apk should wokrd for keyboard??
i don't know why but i think camera should not works by just changing an apk

What rom are you using?Depends the rom
if you are using ics AOSP then just forget it
i have the same rom cna 1.5.5 beta 4
has same problem

yeah its not work on ICS repacks ;/
to copy only the apk from one rom to another won't work, mainly because of the missing parts in the framework.ui and some resource files.
for example: to get the smemo or splanner app working on an AOSP rom is almost impossible, due to a massive different framework layout etc.

You can build up the app from scratch based on aosp framework if you really cannot live without it

Before explaining, I must state I'm no pro but can explain on this briefly.
Every stock app in a stock ROM comes in .apk and .odex files, for example SMS.apk and SMS.odex. The .odex acts like a backup of the app.
While deodexed ROM is a ROM which the stock apps' .odex files are 'removed' safely without affecting the system.
Once the .odex file is removed, you can make modification to certain .apk, either to make dark theme or customise things inside.
I had AOKP ROM, and I really couldn't stand the size of the font and the font its self. Is there a way before I install the ROM that I could change all of that? I'm familiar with modifying Paranoid Android, so if all else fails, I know how to mod the ROM.

YEP! sure is, after you install the rom that is.. you can use "ifont", an app on the play store to change the font and you could use "textdroider" also another app to change the dpi and make things smaller!

Defcomg,if you are still here or if anyone else can help me,i want to have the "theme" apk that you have on your ROM.i have download the rom but i don't understand what apk should i extract and if i extract it and put the right right permissions(7-4-4) will it work on other roms(like jellycream for example or xball's roms)?what the apk name in the folder system/app for the theme apk?
(i know my english are bad,so don't jugde me for that and plz try to help me) {i want the specific apk btw,not any other similar that are on google play}

its basically the miui launcher and a modified system ui so uhm in mihome from play store then download themes in the launcher for the systemui you can find that in system/app but I don't if it will work on current ROM due to signature mismatch .
search XDA for blurred system ui then install mihome should be the same.
hello there....... can anybody please give me some idea to change the dialer app for eg I'm using chroma rom its perfect for me but I just want to replace its dialer with mokee rom's dialer which has a few cool stuffs that I like........ I tried by replacing the dialer.apk and setting permissions to rwrr but it gives FC .... is there a way to manage it??
