Hello
I just ordered the galaxy note ll n7100. Did I order the wrong phone because I keep seeing that it has to be rooted.
Will rooting the phone to 5.0 lollipop be bad. If the phone is new will it be updated by itself? Should I send it back. Any information would be great
Thanks
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. No phone "has to" be rooted. From what I've seen that phone is pretty decent. But this is not what XDA Assist is for. You can find your specific device forum here (bookmark/subscribe this):
Samsung Galaxy Note II GT-N7100, N7105
All relevant information for your phone can be found in that specific device forum, so I suggest you go and take a look.
Good luck!

New to XDA, not new to forums. I've been looking for a Root for the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5 on Lollipop 5.0 for the last few hours, but I've had no luck. Could someone point me in the right direction? (if such a direction currently exists).
Hardware Version: G900V.05
Kernel: 3.4.0
Android Version: Lollipop 5.0

I saw it. Unfortunately, that's for KitKat. I'm on Lollipop 5.0, and as I said, I have yet to find a working root for Samsung Galaxy S5 Verizon on Lollipop 5.0.
All of the information relating to your device can be found within the device forum I linked you to in my previous post. It might be that a root method doesn't exist for the Lollipop firmware yet. Please note that XDA Assist isn't a general helpdesk area, our purpose is to point people who don't know where to post in the right direction. I'm sure if there is no root method right now there will be one soon, the Galaxy range always receives a lot of attention from developers.
Good luck!

I believe there is an update for my phone and was looking for assistance in learning how to do that. I have a galaxy S4 Sprint
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. The best place to ask for help is here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-sprint. They are the experts on your device. You'll have to remove root, most likely by flashing your current firmware version in Odin. But check out that forum.
Good luck!
