Hi all hope to have my Raphael next week sometime.
I have been looking at the specs and user manual and have a question
Is it possible to store a second Micro SD card ontop of the sim card under the battery cover?
If you have a Touch Pro and can confirm this for me I would be thankful.
As per image there seems to be some space on top of the SIM card
Thanks
Jules
i just checked, and i cant find any space big enough to fit the card .
The space u describe is just a little too small, so the card does not fit and the cover can not be put back on
you beat me to it.
Indeed, once the cover is on, the space inside is so tight tabove the sim that it would not fit.
There's also not enough space anywhere else inside as it is all pretty snug....!
sorry to dissapoint you ... i checked every space under the cover and the only place it would fit is indeed on top of the sim but there is a millimeter short on space. i dont know if it would hurt to cut a little piece out of the battery or the microsd card or both .. i wouldnt try it.. also there is no room for it between the keyboard..
There is room...
On my touch pro i keep two spare SIM cards on top of the battery, under the cover. I just align them slightly below the camera hole, and the cover goes on fine...
as microsd is smaller than sim, i reckon u could get 3 of them in there

Yep, micro sd card fits on the battery under the cover
If that's the case, I wonder if a dual-sim simore adapter will fit (the type-2, that doesn't involve cutting your sim cards).
Thanks for all the effort guys,
Nice to know I can store a second sd card if needed

Check iFixit and youtube for helpfull pictures and video. I just replaced the flexcable myself and it's pretty straight forward, if you aren't aclumsy oaf.
This might help about some components within I9505.
I'm new so I can't post links.Sorry about that. Check the web of ifixit

It seems that SIM card slot is placed on separate SIM/microSDXC board which is connected to the mainboard.
I am wondering if we could acquire spare/service doubleSIM/microSDXC board (i.e. from China or Korea) and install it, would it be possible to tweak regular S4 to the S4 Dual SIM model. Of course it would require some cuts to the internal plastic frame (covering motherboard) and special ROM.
Just an idea for brave devs having access to the service parts... If it would be possible and easy doable it could be nice idea for kickstarter...
This post has been opened to know issues relating to sim card replacement for moto g turbo(Merlin).
I'm not sure I understand... Take out the old SIM, insert the new SIM, adjust APN or have carrier auto-provision as necessary, and go on with your day to day activities.
Do you have a specific question or issue?
Actually my first sim card slot which had 3 golden pieces one got removed, will I be ever able to use sim slot 1 again cause everyone is saying that the whole phone has to be opened. Will the phone work as before if they open the whole phone, phone moto g turbo xt1557

Oh... You mean the SIM socket or slot itself. Sorry I misunderstood the issue. I can't help there.
SIM slot (socket) repair is both difficult and risks permanent damage to the logic board. I'm no expert in it myself but I do know that there are a few eBay vendors who deal in replacement slot (socket) modules for very reasonable prices. Replacing the unit -- from everything I've read and seen on the subject -- involves some intricate work with a soldering iron. There are some YouTube instructional videos should you wish to try.
From everything I've seen through replacement parts and teardown videos, you can complete this repair without soldering anything.
That being said, it does have its risks. It does require you to do almost a complete teardown of the phone in order to get access to the main logic board to remove and replace with a new sim flex connector. They're pretty reasonable for price on ebay, and do not need to be soldered, but you'd do well to order and replace the frame sticker as well.
Keep in mind that you will no longer have the ip67 (water/dust) rating after opening your phone. (The replacement frame stickers generally don't claim to prevent water penetration.) Aside from that, the phone will function as before (provided that the repair is completed properly).
On the other hand, if the second sim is still working, and you don't need the dual sim functionality, you can always leave it as...

Ahhh. I see what you mean. This model sports the flex connector versus Moto's usual solder connected slot. I stand corrected. Good info.
Hi everyone, can somebody help me?
I bought photon in very poor condition, last owner wanted sim mod, but he broke SD-slot.
He pulled the tracks off the board and i cant fix it normal way
So, have this smartphone some test point, or tracks for slot on other side of board?
Or have someone scheme of board?
P.s: sorry for my eng, im just a poor boy from belarus
