Factory reset might help you. You will remain on 'stable' rom and it will probably stop lagging. Backup important data and you are good to go.

Without knowing what kind of phone it is, whether it is locked or unlocked, hardspl'd, oem rom or custom rom,
I would say Hard Reset.

Just follow the instructions in the second link and then get back to the rom flashing. You'll have to judge for yourself (I wouldn't know).

Yes, you do have to do it. The use of the s1tool is a part of the of the same process, so just follow it step by step. The kernel installation is if you are planning to stay of the stock ROM. Since you're going to flash a new ROM, it isn't really necessary.

Hey,
I recently rooted my note 2 via some YouTube link.. Now for some reason I am still getting over the air updates and my recovery mode always goes into the Samsung recovery (only options are wipe data and some others.. The screen is black with a green android mascot )
However all the root apps are working.. So what do I do£
Do I install the update which has come over the airborne not?
Thanks for the help..
You should send us a link to the youtube link and you should get a rom off XDA, it works better and you get more support.
Hope it helps
What next

Have you even gone to the thread for your device and read there? That should be the first thing you do before you do anything on your phone. Following some youtube video then coming here for help is not very considerate. Also you provided no information.
Luckily for you. You have root access but you haven't installed a custom recovery yet. You need to do that next. Then install the rom of your choice. Look in the development section for your device and read the stickies. Good luck.

hi,
yes i did.. there was a video.. i watched a 100 of those before rooting the device .. so in the end i chose one which i thought i was the most comfortable with .
unfortunately this happened and now it has come notice that xda is the overlord of sorts in android .. at the time i didnt kow else i would have followed the xda guide..
hence i ask NOW WHAT.
should i unroot ?
my recovery goes into stock recovery and cwm or twer recovery doesnt work properly .. so hence my question was thus framed..
please give me a suggestion that you see fit

Dude. I just told you what to do. It sounds like you are already rooted so now you flash custom recovery and from there flash the rom of your choice.

[Q]Unlocking the Bootloader, bootloop again?

Hello everyone,
I have a question, which I already posted in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2462875
But I didn't get much of a reaction, so I thought I'd post it in another thread to ask it again. So I hope a moderator won't delete this thread...
Nevermind, back to the subject! So my question was: if my phone got in a bootloop the first time I unlocked my bootloader, how can I be sure it won't happen again the second time I'd try?
Because I really don't want to have my phone stuck in a bootloop again... I can tell you one thing: that sucked!
Yes, I know now how to fix it, and stuff like that. But there is a mean little voice in my head that keeps saying: Yeah, but what if it wouldn't work? Then your pretty f*cked. So I (hope ), I am not schrizophenic, or something like that. It's just the fear that it could happen, and doing all the stuff I did to recover all over again??? And perhaps it won't work??? I am defintely a bit scared(but most of the time I'm a tough guy, it's just this occasion ). And please don't see me as a noob, who doesn't even know what unlocking the bootloader means, and just wants it, because all of his friends have it! I beg you, please don't.
Getting to the point: will my phone get in a bootloop again if I unlock the bootloader again?
And if it does, I think I'm still going to try it, so maybe this thread is a little unnecessary... But hey, we'll see.
Thanks in advance.
Cheerios
Hai bro...
I too wondered...although I've flashed my phone a 100 times,I don't know why that happens., this really is a good question.. Why no bootloop occours at second try??
Whatever it's answer is it is a fact...
Bootloop usually don't occur twice while unlockin bootloader...
Would be glad if someone could answer..
thank me if I helped you...Don't say it,hit the button...
Hello mathew,
So in your case a bootloop didn't occur the second time you unlocked the bootloader? That's what I understand from your story. And I really don't get it, because I asked another few guys, and from the people who had to unlock their bootloader a second time, everybody got clean, and nobdy got stuck in a bootloop! So I feel good to go. I think I am trying it out tomorrow, because Titanium Backup is backing up my files incredibly slow to Dropbox(but I still love the app! It has saved me over 200 mb of free space!). And I will look at your Noz rom. From what I've read, it seemed very interesting! But first the bootloader!
Cheerios.
P.S. I thanked you for confirming my question about the bootloader!
