I installed the clockworkmod touch 5.8.4.0 on my rooted and unlocked 1.85 One X, and whenever I boot into recovery it shows the loading screen then boots back into my OS. Even if I use rom manager I can't install the custom rom. Trying to install the cyanogenmod but can't do nothing. Any help? Tried posting in the other subforum they told me to come here so I'm not double posting! Tried fastboot erase cache
I don't think CWM Touch works on this phone. Try flashing the CWM that is in the Development subforum, or TWRP.
Will try, thanks!
Got the 5.8.3.1 to work, thanks again!

I'm trying to install a custom rom but when I get into installing it, it says formatting cache then stays there and at the bottom says next, if I click it, it says it has been installed when really it hasn't. Trying to install the jdroid exodized. any help?

Try Flashing it via Recovery
http://download.chainfire.eu/342/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.43.zip
Yes I ran into the same problem, some roms will not work, try another rom.
evo lte no rom
My evo lte is still s-on, and honestly i'm having so many problems with it. i'd like s-off but i'd have to do dirty racun and I don't have Ubuntu... anyways. right now i am having NO luck finding a rom that will work, i've tried charmeleon, mean rom, and a few others flashed them in recovery, flashed their boot.img in fastboot and I can't even see the boot image half the time. I did notice when the charmeleon rom was trying to install that it stopped when it said installing kernel and rebooted itself and I haven't been able to get past there. i'm not picky, at this point I want ANY rom that will actually work so i can have a phone again, please help
ps. I don't have a backup. I had several but somewhere in trying to figure things out, i wiped the entire sd card so i've just been installing roms and trying them via usb mount from recovery

thanks for the reply! I tried almost all of those roms and the download files have been deleted . can you possibly send me a direct link to a rom? also since i'm s-on... i heard HTC dumlock is a good alternative to flash kernels cause i've been using fastboot and they successfully flash but if i by chance get to the lock screen i can't pull the ring up to open the phone, it's completely unresponsive.

I flashed that update but I still get the same thing. binaries are out of date, and then superuser closes. when i hit the normal install it fails and i also have the option to update the binaries through recovery... maybe a stupid question. is there a zip that just has up to date binaries alone? right now i'm on sense five android 4.1.2

that file contains them
For s-off/unlocked users.
This will remove write protection and allow for /system read/write. After flashing you will no longer need to keep weaksauce installed as system changes will persist after reboot! I dumped this boot image from one of my M8's and tested it on another. This will allow you to install such things as boot animations and busy box etc...
flash from fastboot using

EDIT: this is assuming you have run firewater, have s-off/unlocked, and have SuperSU installed/updated as a system app.

Thanks alot man! Alot easier than horsing around with the kernel module. This just makes it easy as pie. Thanks alot
Anyway to verify it worked? I did the easy instructions and cmd prompt did it's thing and said successful with how many seconds it took and all. Guess what i mean is there any certain root apps/tweaks that didn't work before this and now work with this?
Maybe a quick list of tweaks/apps that now work because of this kernal tweak?

Hey guys, so I just found out about this site and am a super noob but managed to Root my ATT S7 last night. I have been trying to install the Xposed framework but it looks like I cant get a custom recovery program onto my S7. Does anyone know how to get TWRP or CWM or any custom recovery onto the 930A? Or for that matter, Xposed install without a custom recovery?

Sure, I'll start from the beginning in case any other new people are wondering.
Basically, back up your files and restore your phone to factory so the root goes smoother.
Then proceed to this thread for the root. Oh yeah, install adb if you don't have it. They dont mention it and assume you know what it is, which noobs like me don't.
After a clean root, install Flashfire (you may need to disable samsung updates and reset the phones clock back to 2012 or something if Flashfire doesn't want to start). I used 0.31, maybe the newest will work? Easy to find in google.
On page 8 of the Root thread, there is a dropbox link to the Xposed apk and zip (Here). Move them to your phone and install the apk, then use Flashfire to boot the zip.
I think that's pretty much it, Xposed should be running after the Flashfire reboot (which can take a long time as it will Optimize apps).
psouza4 has an awesome thread on what to do after Root and Xposed to make the phone run smoother.
If you do something wrong and absolutely can't fix it, see here for re-flashing back to stock.
Hope this helps someone, took me about 2 days to search all of this out. The AT&T S7 is such a pain in the ass with it's locked bootloader, but this place is > AT&T!

Yes, I had the same issue with TWRP with Pixel XL.
I ended up using Flashfire to flash the Xposed installer zip.
Just make sure to select 'Auto-mount' after you've selected the file.
All seems OK, although I haven't tried any modules yet. Most are in need of a compatible update for Nougat anyway.
Hope this helps.

I have the Pixel and I used Flashfire as you suggested. Xposed does not appear in my app drawer, tho. The file I used was xposed-v88-sdk25-arm64.zip. Was I supposed to use a different one? Attached a screenshot of my About phone.

Whoops I just realized I needed to also install the apk. It worked!

Someone on a Pixel XL thread has successfully installed Xposed just by pressing the install button on the App homescreen.

Certainly an easier solution!, and has made me feel a little stupid!
