I believe in some cases it does, it may also effect NFC. It's up to if you're willing to go for looks over performance.

iPhone Max edge->edge screen protector fits OP6

I work in phone retail. Saw that they where the same size. I tested it. It works.
It only overlaps the speaker grill a little bit but does not alter sound quality at all.
