Please help, i tried to install cyanogenmod 12 in my moto g, but because of and error with the ui stopping working i tried to back up, to find that i couldn't because of this error:
(bootloader) Preflash validation failed
FAILED (remote failure)
This happend when trying to flash gpt.bin and motoboot.bin, everything else flashed fine.
If someone out there could help me fix this problem i will be very thankfull.
Thanks.
(sorry for my bad inglish, im not an inglish speaker)
Which moto g do you have? What is your bootloader version?
The motoboot file probably isn't flashing because you're trying to load an older bootloader.

HI, i have tried flashing a us firmware but have failed and soft bricked the phone. I can enter the bootloader but normal powerup simply flashes the boot logo. If I try to flash the us firmware it says
(bootloader) Preflash validation failed
FAILED (remote failure)
can anybody guide me please? I don't want to permanently brick my phone
EDIT: I have succesfully flashed the german retailer 4.4.2 version, but the motoboot.img and gpt.bin wouldn't flash, and now when it powers up it shows the bootloader unlocked and then a black screen. any help?

When you flash the firmware image - what is happening? Provide a log (copy and paste fastboot screen)

fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.1bootloader) Preflash validation failed FAILED (remote failure)
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.2bootloader) Preflash validation failed FAILED (remote failure)
fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.3bootloader) Preflash validation failed FAILED (remote failure)
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase userdata

When I try to downgrade the xt1032 version 4.4.4 us retail But the same thing happens in the version of brazil
The amazing thing is that the retail 5.0.2 xt1032 us not give me error in any of the commands but whatever the Moto g remains in bootloop
Unlocking Bootloader can sometimes resolve the 'Preflash validation' error. Corrupt emmc is the likely cause of your problems and probably unsolvable at this time. You can however - unlock bootloader - boot into TWRP (fastboot boot twrp.img) and try flashing a custom ROM zip.

I get that twrp.img is not a recognized command
Copy and paste fully any fastboot errors. Latest version of TWRP is here:

This FAQ explains how to set up fastboot and flash a custom recovery:

Bootloader unlocking may resolve this. Try to not flash motoboot.img (Bootloader) - as it is dangerous and not even necessary.

you can not flash motoboot and a partition table from an older firmware if you already have a newer one i think (downgrade)

Hello!
I tried to make a downgrade of my XT1039 from Lolipop to Kit Kat.
My XT1039 bootloader is unlock (I have status3 in the fastboot menu) but when I try to flash the kit kat stock rom I see this:
writing 'partition' ...
(bootloader) Preflash validation failed
FAILED (remote failure)
finished. total time: 0.352s
I am not an expert but I think that from this point the rest of commands are not applied. After finishing the flash I reboot the device and it get's stuck in the bootanimation.
I don't know what to do. I red that is not possible to recover if the device was already updated to Lolipop but I am not sure. Should I try a Cyanogen firmware?
Any advice please?
Thanks you so much
This is a dangerous way to downgrade to KitKat. People have dead phones by flashing an older Bootloader.
You can safely flash one of these Stock KitKat ROMs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/4g-development/rom-stock-motorola-4g-kitkat-rom-t3160127
If you choose an Untouched ROM - Do not accept OTA Updates. Such updates are disabled in the Optimized ROMs.
OK, thak you very much.
I've been trying to resurrect a Moto G recently, which is stuck in fastboot with the error "failed to validate boot image".
I tried flashing stock firmware using mfastboot, but when flashing the partition, I get the errors:
(bootloader) Failed to write primary GPT.
(bootloader) Failed to program partition table
FAILED (remote failure)
Is there anything else I should try, or is the phone bricked?
I have the same problem, i unlock oem my moto g3 2015 and flashed it directly without renable the oem unlock in developper menu.
i'm stuck to bootloader in secure flashing mode now.
have someone a solution
