Setup
Samsung S3 on Verizon SCH-I535
Slimkat 4.4.4 build 8262
TWRP 2.8.4
Baseband I535VRBLK3
Problem
Unable to detect sim
Here's the skinny.
I have an iPhone 5s with a sim adapter.
Everything is working great as far as custom ROMs go.
I've tried cyanogen, PAC rom., and I've landed on slimkat as my favorite.
I get no sim detected on all ROMs.
I even went to Verizon to officially activate my s3 with an official Verizon sim and I still get no sim detected.
Any thoughts?

Hello all,
I recently got the XT926 from Ebay. The phone had CM 10.2 ROM installed when I got it and it could detect my SIM card. Everything worked almost fine. I was able to access the internet through HSDPA and I was able to make calls. However I had issues with not being able to send SMS and MMS. I couldnt save the SMSC number so I decided to install the stable release of CM 10.1. I wiped, and flashed CM10.1 using TWRP that already existed in the phone. Now, after that, the phone will no longer detect any SIM cards no matter what operator or ROM I use. I live in Sweden and I'm using the GSM network. Wifi and all other functions work fine.
I even installed the official VRZ_XT926_9.8.1Q-79-1_CFC.xml but still its not able to bypass the activation screen because it wont detect any sim cards.
Any idea or suggestions on how to fix this?
Thanks in advance
After updating firmware official, device shows no signal. Sim car is detected but unable to manually search for a network. I flash 2 custom roms, no change, went back to ICS official, still no change. Flashed 4.2.2 update official and still no change.
I tried different sim cards and still no service. Sim card works in other devices. Can anyone assist me please?

I have a galaxy s3 16 GB Verizon. After using an international Sim card, it will no longer accept any Sim card. I tried two Verizon Sims, and the international Sim. It would not detect either of them. I did a factory reset. Whenever you eject the Sim, it feels spongy. Stock 4.4 kitkat
I have an unlocked/rooted XT926 and recently flashed CM12 nightly on it. I am unable to get 4G with a Selectel (Verizon) SIM in the phone, but 4G works fine with a Verizon SIM in the phone. Selectel rep is saying I "damaged" the SIM with a custom ROM and they won't replace the SIM. The Selectel SIM also doesn't connect 4G in any of 2 other XT926s nor in 2 XT912s, two of which have stock ROMs (though rooted). Is it possible for a custom ROM to damage or corrupt a SIM? I think it was bad out of the box, does this happen?
Hello everyone, have a nice day and best wishes for the new year! :highfive:
This is my sister's phone, a Samsung Ace S5839i with stock Gingerbread 2.3.6 as second phone with Vodafone carrier. Years ago it was unlocked and rooted at a phone shop and everything was fine. At some point, she issued that the phone stopped connecting and wouldn't work with Vodafone, but strangely it works with other carriers.
So now I have the phone with me, I have tested older Vodafone sim cards and they work fine, tested other carrier sims and they work. I have tested 2 new Vodafone sim cards (mine and my sister's, which are both new and work on other phones) and both fail. The phone boots and doesn't ask the pin code. There is the icon in the statusbar with the sim card and an exclamation mark like there is no card. The radio signal is ok, IMEI is ok, it says "Insert SIM card" when I try to enter the Network Operators in settings menu.
I have downloaded a stock rom with newer PDA and modem versions and flashed them with Odin, but no luck, everything is still the same (except the flash counter...). I wonder if searching and flashing even a newer modem would solve the issue. Or would a newer Android version if there is. :silly:
It looks that this is a Vodafone related issue with the new cards, but all they say is that the sim is operative and won't help.
