I was able to fix this on my Z1s with ease but on my Z3 I can't seem to find any options of how to make the contact pictures higher quality. Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah, I have Xperia With Facebook enabled.
I have the same problem on my Xperia Z3 Compact. Anyone have good working solution for that problem?

I have enable "Enable xperia with facebook" but on settings menu under section account I see on Xperia with Facebook message "synchronization off". How can I enable it? If it's not possible then I'll install haxsync.
I have Xperia with Facebook on but it seems to only sync calendar and not contacts, looks like it's using regular facebook for contacts? Do I delete regular facebook from the sync and that will allow Xperia with Facebook to take that over?
Haxsync has issues matching contacts correctly, I'd prefer to not go that route if possible.

I have had zero issues with haxsync.
If you delete your Facebook account you delete Xperia with Facebook as well

i opened facebook app today and had a pop up asking me for adding my phone contacts to facebook.. but unfortunately, i canceled the process.. i noticed that i can sync my facebook account in the phone.. it seems that google finally reactivated that option again.. but the problem is that i don't find how to select the contacts to sync!!!
have anybody else noticed that new feature???

Was editing my post with the link just as you replied.
Yes i can confirm it's working again i just flashed factory images today,installed facebook and facebook account was added in accounts & sync in setting i just activated it and everything worked.
Does it grab high res pics?

Well, the account shows up, under accounts & sync in the phone settings, but I don't think it's actually syncing the contacts. None of them are showing up for me in the people app.

neither me.. i haven't seen any of my facebook contacts in the people app.. actually i didn't found The way to sync.. i regret canceling the process when the facebook app requested me sync..

You didnt use the app I suggested? It shows fb contacts in the people app for me.
And the sync option of facebook was always there for me but it never worked.

Uhm... personally I don't like these limitations:
IMPORTANT:
* Facebook does not allow to export phone numbers or emails. Only names, pictures and statuses are synced.
* Facebook users have the option to block one or all apps. If they opt for that, they will be EXCLUDED from your friends list.

I use sync.me from the play store..
I used to use uber sync... works too.. sync.me seems to do a better job.
Coming from a HTC One X+ with Sense 5, contacts are linked to Facebook/Twitter etc which is really useful and a feature I really miss with pure Android.
So, in light of this I have two questions:
Can it be done with stock Android without a 3rd party app?
If not, is there a better solution than Contacts+? Whilst this app is ok, it's not as refined as I'd like.
Still love the phone though, by far the best I've had! If I can solve this contact linking issue then I'll be happy as Larry!
I use HaxSync for syncing Facebook contacts
For Facebook, I use the sync contacts option from Friendcaster. I don't actually use the app otherwise.
Thanks guys, do either of these apps change anything in the contacts? I.e. Can you see Facebook statuses and things when you go into a contact or does it just keep the profile photo synced?

Yes, it will sync statuses as well.
i have problem getting Caller ID to display my Facebook contact when making and answering calls... i have done the settings on my phone and i can see my contact list displaying photos correctly from my facebook's list but i just can not get it to work and show the pictures when calling and answering calls. Can anyone help?

Thanks for replying my post. I tried that already but i still can't get it to work...
I think it is something to do with the "Xperia with Facebook", i can not see the option on choosing to sync contact, is this normal?

Same problem. Cannot sync hdpic using xperia facebook. Z1c can do it. Ubersync and haxsync isnt as perfect as xperia facebook in z1c

Did you check if it is available for download from Settings - System - Software update - Apps?
And the one that you obtained from your XZ1, does it work like in XZ1? Are you able to sync the calendar?

I spent a while trying to figure out where this had gone but a suggestion that popped up on the settings page said to use the GMail app instead, which now supports accounts with POP3 or IMAP.

I hate the Gmail app always have and I use my own email server to keep prying eyes away it'll be silly of me to let that slip by using a Google app ?

It is turning out to be a massive battery drain Overall a bit disappointed with this Xperia 5..... Xperia actions is gone as well, also am stuck with vertical app drawer
Why not just use Outlook, as comes with the phone? Has dark mode, calander sync and likewise,from inside the app. I use it prior to Gmail's own, on Xperia 5.

Somehow I do not find the Outlook interface as user-friendly as Sony's email app? And the last time I tried it on my Xz1 Compact, there was no option to display the calendar in System/Google Calendar..... let me give it a try now

Here Outlook syncs with g calander both ways, and to 3rd party widgets and back. Just tried again to be sure.

Giver it a minute to update across, or manually do it. It's there, it is here. :good:
I could make a small video it's working, but pointless if it ain't on yours end. As I did no special or specific settings.

I don't really notice the battery drain as I've always charged my phone twice a day being a heavy user.
The vertical app drawer is proving annoying. Reordering apps is not smooth and no support for icon appearance ?

Can the Sony Email app be used on non-sony devices? I just moved from my XZ2 Compact to a Samsung Galaxy S10e and the stock email app is horrible. In desperation I downloaded Outlook for Android to see if that would help, but that's even worse.
If it can't be used, are there any alternatives that look, feel and behave as identically as possible to the Sony Email app?

Why not use k9 for email it's a very good mail client. Available in playstore and f-droid. In f-droid there are also prereleases too (the k9 people are doing a big overhaul of k9 just the moment.

It doesn't support modern versions of Exchange.
What was it about the Sony Email app that was so great? If you get an APK will it work flawlessly?
