tf300tl - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Rooted and unblocked wondering where I can find a 4.2 kernel for the US version of the tf300tl or at least be able to use the world wide version instead. Dont care about LTE or 3g or whatever just want to be able to use this tablet without it lagging.

Asus Transformer TF300TL

Hi,
I looked everywhere and this device (Asus Transformer TF300TL) appears to be lost.
Anybody knows if TF300T roms work on it?
Anybody has one here?
Any ideas?
I appers to be pretty similar.
Hello
Rom differs between TL and T
Because of functions modem.
TL is really useful for the 4G

You will find some links at the end of my Index for tf 300 (click to my sig )
And that's right, it's a little part of all TF300 and especially for LTE.
I really don't if you will find one rom for your device.
Really sorry
So still no development for TL version?
I think the TL is the last device of this series, so it's normal that there's to wait some time before you can fine a well cooked ROM..

No custom ROMs for the TF300TL that I know of.
I believe the T/TG ROMS will KILL the LTE part of the TL modem (or possibly completely kill data capability...or worse)
Here is the Asus TF300TL update link:
https://www.asus.com/Tablets_Mobile/ASUS_Transformer_Pad_TF300TL/#support_Download_32
There is a bootloader unlocker, 2 jelly bean ROMs, and the kernel source available for download.
I manually updated the ROM from the Asus site - the OTA system update was not working on the stock ROM loaded.
The trick is to make sure to match the ROM download to the version of the tablet- US, WW, etc.
I have also gotten the latest TWRP to work on the TF300TL - I used the jb blob image for the German LTE TF300TG.
I assume the stock TF300TL image is mostly a TF300T but with a driver for the LTE radio built into the ROM.
If the radio device driver is included in the Asus source - it may be able to be merged.
Has anyone figured out a way to force the native android tethering?
The ATT tethering app keeps dropping connections- and has no options to customize.
I remember when the Nexus 3G (tilapia) first came out there was a way to expose the
android native tethering menu- maybe this has been disabled on the TF300TL stock.

[Q] TF300TL ROMs?

Hi guys!
I'm a owner of Asus TF300TL. My tab is fully stock, and I want to change that by rooting it and installing custom rom...
I'm doing that coz I got pissed really bad when I've installed Real Racing 3 and seen it lagging. I can't understand why isn't it snappy if Tf300 series are rocking powerful enough Tegra 3 chip, while (for example) Ipads with 2 times less powerful hardware runs latest games without any problem!
Other games like Vice City are choppy too so I think that rooting, installing custom rom and overclocking my Tab will fortunately solve the problem...
So.. my question is:
Is there any stable rom for TF300TL with 4g LTE capabilities ? and if there's a root method?
BTW: my brother has a Nexus 7 with identical hardware and Vice City runs smoothly and RR3 works decently( I believe that it's caused by terrible optimization)
thanks in advance for every helpful comments!!

1) There are no custom ROM's for the TF300TL right now.
2) yes there is a root method.
By the way your 2 questions have been answered more than once recently here in this forum (by me and by others)
Use the Search function! (search this forum with the terms TF300TL + root)

Has anyone tried using the NEXUS7 4G ROM on the TF300TL?
They both use the TEGRA 3 chipset.... and if someone can extract the LTE drivers from the TF300TL, i'd imagine you could get it to work.

nothing?
CROMi-X and TWRP works with tf300tl.
Have some problems with 3G/4G, but works.
What's the link to the asus firmware? I might be able to incorporate it into CROMI-X

hey mate, good news! so, using your rom with tf300tl allows oc capatibilies with everything (3g/4g) correcly working, isn'it? I'm asking you since i can only buy tf300tl...can't find any new tf300t or tg version.
I'm owning a nexus 7 device so i'm pretty sure that without a custom rom and a strong oc to 1500-1600mhz i'll not be satisfied, N7 runs smooth only at these frequencies.

Today, on my stock LTE-enabled ASUS Transformer TF300TL, I downloaded & installed CleanROM Inheritance 3.4.6 - 10.4.4.25/US DEODEX that also included the kernel 3.1.10-00003-gb0003ba. Everything is seems to be great - except for the fact that it:
- doesn't detect the SIM card, and
- prompts for an unlock code if I turn Flight Mode OFF (ie. try to connect to any carrier's mobile network).
When cold-booting, in tiny print in the top left corner of the screen, I do see 'Device is unlocked'.
Did I install the wrong ROM ?
Thanks,
Steven

hey mate. i have tried this rom for my tf300tl but it can't flash successfully just abort at begging, can't go on, need ur help
I am just curious if there is any custom ROM, you can suggest, that will work with TF300TL. I have unlocked bootloader and rooted my TF300TL. It is with android version 4.2.1. I have been looking at flashing it with latest firmware, that would not disturb the 4G LTE.
Thanks and regards

Known fix for android pay?

Let me preface, I'm using a 920T
I've been able to determine when I flash a 920T based rom, android su root disabled, I can configure and use android pay.
When I flash a 920F/925F rom I get an error that it can't verify device or software running is compatible. I've tried using xposed modules (device cloak and disable device checker) and still no go.
Is there some way to get the base to act/be/fake different than what is actually installed?
Similar to fix the Netflix bug you change the model in build.prop to 920K.
Could a rom that has a 920F base, be transposed or features migrated to a 920T rom, for example?
Either 1- I run a rom that doesn't have the features, battery, speed I want and have android pay. 2- run a rom I want and no android pay. 3- have a nandroid of a 920t stock rom and flash back and forth when needed (a pita for sure).
As far as I know there is no way you can use android pay and have a rooted device.

Yes you can.. The issue is because most roms are European base, android pay is only available in the US. So roms specifically for att, tmobile, Verizon, sprint all should work; as my test of two roms proved

I thought pay would detect the su binaries. That's what a Google developer said.
http://www.xda-developers.com/googl...-with-root-and-android-pay-in-the-xda-forums/
Couldn't test it though.

I tested by rooting a sprint s6 then adding a credit card with no issues what so ever. The problem definitely lies in EU based ROMS

Exactly. So some way need to fake our rom to be based on USA rom.
I hope some devs can look into this..
Maybe it's because of the fact that Android Pay is only available in the US.
I tested it by installing the apk on a stock unrooted G920F but it wouldn't let me add a credit card because Play Services force close.
And I live in Germany.

Hi
Do you know about any good custom rom for the vodafone smart 4 power? I couldn't find any but there are people saying that they installed android 5.1 on this phone. Also, if you know about any custom recovery that works fine let me know.
Thanks.

It's probably because you have a MTK device and the people you see that installed 5.1 probably ported it from another MTK device in order to flash it.
You could always ask the ones who installed 5.1 where they got it from.

Has anyone gotten OOS 12 on the IN2019 (Verizon OnePlus 8)?

Been looking for a solution to convert this device to the global variant successfully with the modem working or to get Verizon to release the update. It's been one year since Android 12 has been released and it doesn't seem like OOS 12 is coming anytime soon, so if anyone knows how to get the modem working on the global variant, I'd be glad.
The hardware and kernel source are fundamentally different on the Verizon model. Even if you somehow got global firmware installed with working data, you'd have a lot of other bugs and glitches because the hardware isn't compatible with the Global OS.

It works quite well. on the V model (that's what I have). but you need to back up your modem for data. It's best to reset to 11 factory. Then you can run ROMs that are OS 12.

I did not use a specific guide. I have been rooting the phone for some time and found that I could flash os global using a fastboot flash ROM. If you root your phone and save the stock os the 11 modems you can replace it in the global rom.
I will correct myself and say that I don't remember for sure if global will work (for modem replacement) but you can get custom ROMs to work well with that method.
I would have to go back and sort through for the links or try again to be sure. But if you know what you're doing, it is pretty hard to brick the phone. So play around with other guides. (with your own risk and discretion involved).
You can even run android 13 on the V model( not good IMO. buggy).

Stock modem does not work. That is for sure. I've moved to the pixel 7 Pro so I won't be messing with the one plus anymore.
