What I want to know is how we can just add your disgusted, morally outraged, awesome yellow arrow and circle to it industry wide so that whomever created it and thought it was good enough is too embarrassed to ever try their hand at stock icon development again.

You need to replace your shellres.96.dll file...attached is the one from my rom--but be forewarned it'll replace your busy icon with a black style one as well. Copy one from someone else's rom if this isn't to your liking...

Maybe I'm not thinking straight, but what "busy icon" are you referring to?
Also, my icon hasn't said "3G" since the AT&T factory ROM. Ever since I've switched to Dutty's ROMs, it's said "H." What's the diff, if any?
3G = 3G
H = HSDPA
Could someone send a screenshot?

BIG difference. The "H" stands for HSDPA or High Speed Downlink Packet access. It is one of the 3G protocols but much faster than typical Edge networks (another 3G protocol).
Someone please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but Edge networks have a peak of 1Mb/sec with a more realistic 400kb-700kb throughput. HSDPA networks operate (at least here in northern california) at 7.2 Mb/sec. I believe I read somewhere that in Japan the HSDPA networks run at 14.4 Mb.
The Kaiser/TIlt is HSDPA capable, but AT&T has it disabled in the registry. The registry tweak to enable it has been done in your build. You can also achieve this by running Kaiser Tweak.
The other difference is that seeing the "H" pop up on my phone always makes me smile

The reason you H now and not on the stock ATT ROM is because by default ATT had the ability to jump to HSDPA speed turned off, you could only get 3g. With a simply registry hack, HSDPA is turned on and you get faster speeds (if HSDPA is available in your area). All the cooked ROMs have the reg hack already done.

First copy file to your MOB then copy it to windows
Then it will work... due the win-mob copy protection.

Thank you
Why would u ask that? Did you?
I've never had any signal problem... I hardly have 5 notches out of 5 though even with 2 I m able to speak with no loss of quality...

gees...
Yeah, the signal strength with the stock radio for me is sub par as compared to the slew of other phones I have laying around here. Its always way down as compared to every other phone I have, even my iphone, which was the reigning king of crap signal. Maybe its possible to get a better signal with a different radio, I dont know? Its mainly just affected in building call performance, and definitely data performance. BUT I love this phone and am going to live with it. I have even thought about trying to rig up an antenna of some sort to experiment. I might try to solder a coil of wire onto the lower antenna/cover, probably wont work but I its an easy experiment.
btw I have tried different roms and reflashed the stocker a bunch of times experimenting with little to no change minus my gps randomly going away after some flashes.
Are we back in high school? What's with all these back and forth comments? Why not help the OP instead of going off topic?
And to reply to the OP, I personally haven't had any (cell) signal problems. The area you are in and how congested it is also a major factor.

I have had issues with the AT&T Microcell dropping calls using an unrooted, carrier unlocked, stock HTC Inspire. I have no resolution at this time.

[Q] custom service indicator?

Would it be possible for someone to create a custom service icon? I really like my super circle battery indicator, and was wondering if someone has or could make something similiar for the service bars. I know absolutely nothing about coding, or the phone programing to know if its possible. Thanks in advance!

Icon

Hey, this is probably a dumb and obvious answer type of question but I've searched. I just got a new Tmo S7 and rooted it but for the life of me can't figure out what this icon is haha. I've attached a screenshot. It's the white wavy looking icon next to the VOLTE icon. It almost looks like a cloud I guess.
Update:
Nevermind, RCS Icon.
Only way as of yet is to turn off VoLTE.

Carrier name on status bar

I would like to know how it is possible to display carrier name on status bar in my Samsung A8 2018 stock Rom. I really like this because of an esthetical reason.

picky picky!! its only been a year since the thread started, why throw me under a moving bus?
anyways, if youre not rooted, good luck. There is an app from samsung themselves called "good lock" it allows you to customize your notif bar in ways that only root would otherwise be able to. You might also benefit from flashing the CSC from your carrier on the phone. Just the CSC tho, nothing else would necessarily need to be flashed. Why would someone want the name of the carrier displayed? Im not doggin ya in any way, shape or form, just curious.
Finding if I am in my home network while traveling near the border to avoid roaming charges would be one of the reasons.
Will have to find some app solution then.
