I was taking a look at the specs for the Sprint version of this phone and noticed that it has GSM ability? Now that sounds really sweet because the ATT ones don't have that 3.5mm jack on them.
So - the obvious question - does it work? And if it doesn't - anyone gotta fix for it?
Thanks!
Not to be an ass, but have you even done a search, or at least look at other threads? This has been discussed many times already.

Well searching for GSM or CDMA isn't going to filter things out much & I really couldn't come up with anything to search. I looked though 4 or 5 pages and didn't find anything. Perhaps just answering the question or pointing me to one of the other treads would be helpful.

And of course the only sticky on the TP2 cdma forum.
It's okay dude. Almost every poster here (definitely including myself) has been there and been bashed for posting a thread when it already had one. It happens. As for the topic. The sticky is the best place to go.
I have searched these threads and am amazed at the lack of interest in this feature of the infuse. No discussion at all in the ROM threads so on to my main question: Will MHL work with any of the ROMs?

There's plenty of discussion, this topic comes up all the time, usually from people who didn't read, and you clearly didn't do any searching or reading, as the first post of no less than TWO ROM threads address this issue.
Short answer:
Works in all Froyo ROMs
Does not work in any Gingerbread ROM and won't until AT&T releases Gingerbread. Too much missing from the Rogers firmware release. (It's not just the kernel, userland stuff is missing too.)
Edit: Hell, looking through your posts I realize you've even posted in another thread where this situation was discussed in detail.
I was not happy with the level of detail presented. We can do better here so the next time someone needs specific info they will find it. There are only four threads relating to this subject and one of those is just to sell mhl adapters.
Why can't the mhl firmware in the infuse be supported in certain roms?
Is anyone working on this problem?
Which video apps work with mhl?

The problem lies in the stock Rogers Gingerbread that was released (which the custom Gingerbread ROMS are based), until ATT releases gingerbread, and hope that the problem is fixed there, is probably wont be fixed. So sit down, shut up, and wait, or flash another ROM that supports it. There are other threads that show all the info you need on this subject.
Its because navigating thru te site is getting harder. Its actually a good idea since there will be room for the newer ones and if there are like 10 newer ones coming up and the old ones are still listed, navigating to your specific model would be harder. And not only the htcs, also the Samsungs, there are already too many listed. This is just a quick idea to attract more new people to the forums and to get easy access to a specific phone model. But what about the owners of those old stuff? There shoud be a forum called "Older Phones" if ever someone still owns those old phones.

1. There already is. It's called Legacy and Low activity devices (or something along those lines). All of the other threads are still very much active.
2. ctrl+f or F3 means that you can find whatever you want, without any trouble. If you can't find it by that means, it probably isn't on the forum. A quick forum search would confirm this, and it would even bring up any posts for a device even if it doesn't have a dedicated forum (e.g. in the New Devices voting thread).
Respects for ya thought on the webscrolling ! But Lots of us still use legacy htc devices like the desire still running a mile like a beast

Thread moved to Q&A due to it being a question. Would advise you to read forum rules and post in correct section.
Failure to comply with forum rules will result in an infraction and/or ban depending on severity of rule break.
so i plan on getting my gf the samsung galaxy tab 2 7" model
but there is 5 pages of post here, and looks like there is a mix of just wifi units and wifi/3g units so why is there no thread separation, like you get in alot of other sections, hell even some sections have separation of carrier if the radios for the carries are different
it just a little hard to get through all of them, especially when i'm just looking for the wifi models and then i look at a something someone made and its not for the model i'm getting for her
is there any plans on making a separation for the wifi only and the wifi/3g units or no?
I agree, I think they should be separated also. Although the 3113 CAN use 3100 roms, and I believe there are other variations of compatibility. It can still be cumbersome scrolling through incompatible roms.

Doubt any plans to separate. One request for you tho, please don't post question threads in the dev forum. Post question threads in the questions forum. Thx.

Call me old fashioned but I tend to use the forum search engine for navigation and simple question finding. If you had done that , then you would work out that most ROMS are getting merged.Such as 3110/3113 are exactly the same thing and devs are making builds universal now ( see CM10 for an example) In fact you can use any 31xx on any 31xx device (But don't expect a Phone ROM to work on a Wifi only ROM as its hardware not software that makes it ring)
Its ironic that you post about too many threads in the development forum , then post in it asking a question lol. To be honest we are hardly flush with ROMs to choose from in this forum ( No disrespect to any dev intended, just stating a fact)
You are old fashioned

Questions should be posted in Q&A forums, not Development forums.

See rule #15
Thread moved.
yes i am aware this should of been posted in the Q&A section and slap my hands for it
but i felt after 5 pages of threads some house keeping should of went in place and some sort of separation should of went in
but i also know this kind of question gets ignored in the Q&A section till everyone starts complaining about it
and by that point the house keeping for it gets, well undesirable to be fixed
beyond this time i have behaved and put my questions in the Q&A section unless it was part of the original thread it was in
yes i did use the search engine and that is how i found my first few relevant post, but after the first few that is when i go to the begin of the tree
and then see if there is separation so i'm not going through each search result of not need to look at info
and with what you stating with cross compatible roms, that just means you would have a section for none cross for each in general and the section for cross compatible roms as you point out that its the hardware series in general that makes it possible
but now the major question remains on when or if i will be able to get ahold of one, as most of the places i turn to for my electronics are out of stock of the units, but time will tell
So it looks like both the Xperia and Galaxy dudes can enjoy unlocked LTE bands on their Qualcomm powered phones. I found this tutorial here
I was able to go through the entire tutorial. The problem is that upon reboot the settings will revert back to their original parameters.
Has anyone have successfully unlock world LTE bands on the LG D820..?
Also while trying to backup the original configuration of my phone using the QPST tool, my Nexus asks for an "SPC" unlock code which i do not know what it is... The software fails to retrieve the dump because of lack of this code.... does anyone know how to retrieve this code from the phone..? i sure do not know what it is...
This is not a galaxy. Not one person in this forum has "unlocked", "activated" of "added" any LTE bands. What's more, this question is asked on a daily basis.

I know and have read people unlocking qualcomm devices left and right... just haven't seen any Nexus 5 traffic.... did you guys read the threads on the links i posted..? these mods are for Qualcomm devices... not just Galaxys and Xperias... there were mere examples...

I don't need to read them. I've seen them before. No one on this forum has activated, unlocked or added any LTE bands to the Nexus 5.

All the threads i have found so far as in regards to what works out of the box in other areas... modem flashes and so on... nothing proactive like the threads i have found in other forums..... There are Chinese dudes using their D820 in china right now...? how do i know..? i got results through Google in Chinese. The problem is that when you push those sites through translate, they dont make any sense. Furthermore, illustration materials posted are all in Chinese since they are graphics..... But really nothing in regards to how to unlock Qualcomm devices for other LTE bands... there is a difference... It may seem to you that they are the same but the questions are NOT.... i have posted the threads so that you can perhaps put down the sniper rifle and do some clicking... and read..!!!! nothing more..! if you have heard or read anything, awesome..! post it...! if you haven't then perhaps this would be an opportunity to check out these threads.

You seem to be ignoring the facts. There are threads here discussing modifying the LTE bands at length. No one here, on XDA has managed to unlock, activate or add LTE bands to the nexus 5. I know this because I've ready every single thread in the nexus 5 forum about LTE bands. I've read every answer and read every link similar too those that you posted today. No one here has done it. I've told you this no less than 3 times now.

all right.... like i said! i have successfully rewritten the NV Bands String from stock to one that supports European bands. It loads it in memory and it seems to work well switching from Edge to HSPA+ very quickly unlike the stock string that took for ever to do the same switching.... haven't tested LTE because there is none in my area.... the problem is that upon new NV bands strings gets overwritten by the default string and the problem ensues... i will try to head on to Regensburg tomorrow and test

The amount of threads that have been created just for this silly thing.. Seriously, I don't see why. People should just get the right model, or get a different device.
