M4 currently doesn't have Android 5.1, and won't have it officialy, because Sony is skipping it.

Does this mean that nothing will come to port? 5.1.1 This is the main problem?

We have some kind of AOSP 5.1.1, but for now it's very buggy, and doesn't have the stock Xperia interface. The best bet for now is stock 5.0, or upcoming 6.0.
