Your question seems not to concern my Turbo Data thread, Sir. Please clarify your question.

I bought this Card
xxx.kingston.com/datasheets/sdca10_us.pdf
I think is not the best but i should feel a boost or not?
So yesterday i did all this here.
I make 2 Partitions:
1. Label "Storage", Fat 32 7GB
2. Label "Data", Ex4, 8GB
Then i try with the CM12 from Shanur and from ivan.
First i run the Start.bat then i took the zip and run over "MakeaNewImg"
Then i flashed this new zip, after that i flashed Gapps, start the Phone but it is so slow, it showed me that i have 8GB but it was only slow.
Tomorow i will get my Sandisk Extreme Pro and i will try it again. But did i something wrong? Need i to flash Kernel maybe or something else?
Sensation is S-Off with 3.33 Firmware H-Boot 1.29 and 4ext Rec Rc3

Official Nook HD and HD+ Dev thread (Temporary Only)

So, let's be honest.. I know that this is a Nook Color board, but given the delay in an HD board coming around, I thought I would throw a bone out there for users. Here are the ground rules for this thread:
1) This only a hold over, and will be moved/closed as appropriate when a correct forum is made.
2) In this forum, this is the only topic where HD/+ content may be posted. Any bleed over to NC threads will be merged were possible, and closed where needed. Consider this thread the entirety of the HD/+ developer board right now.
3) This topic is for true development only; general discussion will be moved to the discussion thread.
With that said, consider this thread open, at least until we know what is happening with an official board..

How about incorporating this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1994129 here so the discussion can continue, or is it reopened elsewhere?
That thread is not development ( dev threads must either be the release of software (ROM, kernel, tool), or active development discussion (debugging, error logs, etc). The the guide is handy, it would not belong on a dev board anyway ( when the time comes, its proper place will be general discussion).
Now, if somebody wishes to post a rooting tool, and some guide with it here, that would apply. Otherwise, discussion belongs in the open general thread).

Are you then going to reopen this thread in the general forum/thread?
The thread that is open in the general forum is sufficient to handle current discussion. As I have mentioned before, once I have an actual place to put HD threads, they will all be reopened and moved where appropriate. I am sorry that you do not have an HD forum yet, but would also like to remind you that you are lucky to have ANY HD threads in a board for a totally different device.
As it is, this is not the place for this particular discussion. This is a DEV discussion topic. If it will not be used as such, I will close this thread, and just have everything back under the general thread. Given how many people had been asking for this, I had hoped to see more progress than just being badgered here..
If you users appreciate help given by me, verygreen, someone0 and others, please stop badgering Divine_Madcat to open other threads here in Nook Color. This is not a Nook HD forum and he is giving us a break by keeping this open. Just keep pushing him and we will lose this one too.

Like I promised, I am publishing a cwm image that people can boot off sdcard. Grab it here.
To install: gunzip and dd into an sdcard (not a partition, but entire device) whose content you don't care about.
This is targeted at people experimenting with root only at this point, so that they don't need to undergo the full 8-reboots-factory reset scenario.
When you screwed something up in system, just put this sdcard in, and it'll boot on the next reboot cycle.
adb into it, and:
Code:
busybox mount /dev/block/platform/omap/omap_hsmmc.1/by-name/system /system
fix whatever breakage you introduced, and then umount /system, remove sdcard and reboot.
This is a very minimally functional thing right now, uboot menu and all other fancy stuff is disabled for now.
More full-featured thing and device tree are still coming, hopefully very soon now.
Thank you, verygreen! Just in time. I semi-bricked my HD+ again messing with framework-res.apk and it won't boot. I was afraid I would have to 8 fail reset again. This should get me out of it. Will report back.
Edit: Worked! Got it to boot to your CWM. Had to install a new driver (Windows) because it has a new device ID. Chose Android ADB Interface from list. Installed fine. ADB worked. Serial number is a dummy 123456789... ADB shelled to mount /system per above command. Pushed original framework-res.apk and rebooted. Victory! Thank you so much.
I have a NST that I rooted awhile back that I love. My brother wants to get a Nook HD or HD+ for his wife and wants to know if I can root that as well. I am having trouble finding specific resources for that. Is the Nook HD+ perm rooted yet? Are there still some work that needs to be done with development? It's a newer device so I would completely understand that.

When a CM10 is released and we install it to the sd card , can we still use this sd card for storage etc or does it all have to be taken up by cm10 ?
Also with the current way you are getting past the bootloader does this mean cm10 will only work from an internal sd card and we wouldn't be able to load it from internal memory ?

I don't think he can, at least not initially. Mainly the problem is the locked bootloader. It's like you have a PC that don't allow you to reinstall windows/linux on the HDD/SSD. But it still allow you to boot from USB/CDROM/floppy. Sure in case of linux (not too familiar w/ android, so I won't say that it can for sure), you can have just the kernel on a floppy and the rest of the OS on the HDD. I know some people do this to lock down their machine. The entire OS is sitting on a HDD encrypted with one missing part, the kernel. Then you boot it from the USB which have the kernel and the decryption key for that HDD. It's like a physical authentication method and can be combine with password and that make it two-factor authentication. Then again whoever does that better backup that USB key, or he/she would be toasted if that USB become corrupt or lost.

Booting from internal storage is possible too, but I we are not in the state yet where people should be replacing BN software with CM, as such I think sdcards provide enough playground for now to mature the product before we move further.
Noob question, since I am using Windows, how do I 'dd' the image onto the sd card?
TIA
PS found this for other Windows users:

PSS ok, that worked but I couldn't find what I horsed up. Just had to reboot 8 times and start over...

You can use a few different software in windows to write the image to SD card. Try https://launchpad.net/win32-image-writer/+download, I personally use version 0.5 if I have to us a windows machine

Thanks, yes, my link got me there too.
Divine_Madcat,
This one needs to be moved to dev and renamed. It has verygreen's CWM in it. Or at least move that post over there somehow.
edit: you moved his rooting thread there. Why don't you just move his CWM post to that thread and close this thread.

[Q] CM 10 Upgrade: What Works Best together

Hello,
I am unable to load cm10 and I am unsure what I am doing something wrong.
Let me first say, I corrupted all my emmc partitions and with Leapinlar's forum on repair and a personalized zip file, all partitions, with the possible exception of partition 3 are repaired.
When the NC boots now, I go directly into CMR 5.5.04 (again, courtesy of Leapinlar). As for flash files, I have so many versions of the cm10 conversions and they may not be compatible or could be corrupt.
Which versions of CWM, CM10 and gapps should I be using together?
Thanks for all your help!

[Q] SDCard/root memory Issue

Hi, guys, this morning I updated from Developer Preview to Lollipop.
Everything is worked fine but there is a little problem. My internal memory (and also sdcard) is 13Gb, but I've a Nexus 5 of 32 GB. I think there is a hidden partition that i can't see. (look screenshot). I can see the sdcard, is not the problem from KK to L. I've already execute that guide.
I installed Lollipop with a Factory Reset from DevPrev, a system wipe and flash the img files. It's not the first time that i do with this method, i follow every step of vomer's guide. But why this problem? I hope that you guys know more than me.
If you have some question of details just ask me! (sorry for the english )
there's a ton of threads about a 32GB nexus only having 13GB free. please use search.

Exe files?
When I try to download the zips for BigPart Twrp and the wingray BigPart boot image, it downloads executable files? Why does it not just download the zip files as promised?
Exes
I tried downloading one and instead of downloading the zip file I wanted it downloaded EZ Downloader, and broke my Chrome browser. Why can we not just download the zip files required to change over to the BigPart repartition for xoom?
I made a huge mistake. I installed TWRP 2.6.3.0 fine. Unfortunately I got distracted and forgot to flash twrp bigpart. Instead I skipped to the step where you wipe everything but the sdcard, and when I rebooted to recovery, the screen hung on the teamwin splash screen. When I did a hard reset and tried to reboot manually into recovery I get the motorola dual core screen with a message saying "starting fastboot protocol support", and it just hangs there. Any help from you guys would be greatly appreciated.
Disregard, I finally got it to boot back into recovery manually and went on from there.
Guide
9) Go into install. Recovery should show your microsd storage by default. If not, using the navigation panel, navigate to root then go into "sdcard". Flash your rom, BigPart boot image package, and any other resources as you normally would.

But I don't see the files on the memory card
from FAQ
Q: Followed the instructions for the re-partitioning. Everything worked except the Xoom cannot see the external sd card in recovery. I have re-formated it as fat32 and tried another card. When I view the files in the PC they are there. Any ideas?
A: Something something went wrong... Copy the data from the SD to your PC, format SD and put back data. Let's see if that works...

it doesn't work
upd:
another card is working correctly!
upd2:
no need to flash BigPart boot image package!
Motorola Xoom bigpart repartition touch recovery
Hello, never rooted xoom but want to so I can have KitKat. When I try to download original TWRP 2.6.3.0 touch recovery it takes me to a smut video. Do you have a link to the real file. Also since I have never rooted this device, do I have to do something else before I follow the big part repartition upgrade. Sorry very green about this.
Thanks!
Trouble with flashing BigPart to WingRay unable to wipe or mount data
I have tried a lot of ways of flashing the BigPart partition (TWRP 2.8.6.0 for BigPart) but it seems that every way I do it is wrong. I think I followed the directions correctly but every time I do it I either get a password request to login to TWRP or it starts up but says that the data partitions is not able to be wiped or mounted. Most times I can not select the data check box. Please help me figure out what I am doing wrong or tell me were to go. I really want to flash the 5.1.1 but I am getting no where.

[Q] Incredibly slow to start but runs OK after that

Hello all,
I'm a bit of a newbie at this stuff, but I hope this is enough information:
I recently installed CROMBi-KK on my TF700T. I don't think I've done any other relevant "mods" and certainly none after changing the ROM.
The tablet is connected to the optional keyboard.
I think the hard drive is about 2/3 full. Not sure about SD card. (I haven't tried starting system without SD card installed.)
It typically takes 15 minutes to start up!!!!
But once it starts, in part thanks to using Cleaner Master to block automatic startup of many programs, it typically runs fairly well. If it gets laggy, I can use the "phone boost" part of Cleaner Master (or of similar functioning programs) to get it running fairly well again.
Can anyone please offer me advice on what to do in order to get to a reasonable startup time?
Thanks very much for any help!
That sounds as if you did not install CROMBi-KK clean or clean enough. Or you are on the wrong bootloader...
So post your bootloader version and recovery version, which rom you came from and how and what you wiped before installing the rom.
Start backing up all your data off the tablet, 'cause no matter what your answer is, I'm going to recommend you move to ZOMBi-POP anyway. And that takes a full format of data and a change of /data to f2fs.
CROMBi-KK is no longer supported for a good reason: ZOMBi-POP is much better - especially better over time where CROMBi tended to really bog down.
You should not use (and need) CleanMaster on this rom. That app is for stock roms loaded with bloatware.
Post the info I asked for and I can help you to get this tablet flying again

Thanks for your help...how do I find the bootloader and recovery versions? I don't remember which ROM I came from. I want to say 4.2 but I don't know for sure.
What's the best way to back up data?
Thanks again!

You're good to go on the bootloader side. But TWRP 2.8.5 has a bug with the f2fs conversion, so if you want to go for ZOMBi-POP on f2fs you have to update your recovery.
Instructions are all in my f2fs conversion guide (3rd link I posted earlier).
But first make a nandroid of your CROMBi-KK installation - just in case you should not like ZOMBi.
Get the recovery and rom files together on your microSD, then
Flash the Kang TWRP by lj
reboot
format data in TWRP
convert file system on /data to f2fs
flash ZOMBi-POP
enjoy
Sent from my K00C using Tapatalk
So since I don't know what nandroid means and don't want to figure it out, I'm going to take your word for it that ZOMBi is better than CROMBi!
I'll work through this with your instructions and let you know how it goes.
Thanks very much!

A nandroid is a full system backup. In TWRP touch 'Backup", choose your microSD as destination (remember you will totally format your internal storage) and swipe the button. That's it.
It worked!
Still figuring out Zombi but it sure does boot up a lot faster.
Thanks so much for your help!
