On my Nexus 5, im running stock kitkat until i flashed the paranoid android 5.0.2
after playing with it for some time , i decided to revert back to kitkat and ive made a nandroid backup before using TWRP
the problem is i cant find my backup on TWRP recovery.
i installed es file explorer and found out that my storage is not in the default format(?). It is in /sdcard/0 when usually it would be just /sdcard.
how do i restore my backup/ make it visible in twrp restore.
help is much appreciated

TWRP backups are stored into /storage/emulated/0/TWRP/BACKUPS/serial_number_of_your_device/<here>
So move the folder of your nandroid backup at this path.

I have backed up my ROMs... Working from CWM it finds the backups, but in recovery mode, it can't find them (restore). Ideas??

Have you been on a stock ROM, then backed up your ROM right before going to a 4.2 ROM?
If you've made a leap to a 4.2 ROM, CWM does not recognize your backups due to the multi-user changes.
Or is CWM just not recognizing your backups in general?

Did you backup using a 4.1 ROM and then subsequently upgraded to a 4.2 ROM (e.g., did you go from CleanROM to CM10.1)? If so, your backups are now saved under the folder 0/clockworkmod/backup (as opposed to /clockworkmod/backup). Thus, when you go into recovery, CWM cannot find the backup, as it does not recognize the 0 folder.
What I've done is go into a file explorer (like ES File Explorer), go into the 0/ folder, and then move the clockworkmod/backup folder to the SD card (the goal is to not have your backups in that 0 folder).
That is what worked for me. Hopefully that works for you as well.
So I have been doing a lot of flashing and I wanted to clean up my phone so I did a full wipe, factory reset and then rooted, unlocked bootloader and flashed TWRP 2.6.3.Then I backed up my fresh image of Samsung Touchwiz. Then I moved my TWRP backup of my Carbon setup into the backup directory created by my initial backup.then I did a restore of that backup. Now my problem is that my directory structure is out of whack.I plug the phone into the PC and all I see is Rocket Player,Android and clockworkmod folders in that order.I can't access Music or set a custom ringtone, those directories are not found.I can no longer see the original backup either,Trying to figure out what I did wrong.Did I need to flash Carbon and Gapps first and then do a restore?I missed a step somewhere just wondering if anyone can shed any light.
Thanks.
When you cleaned house on your internal storage while on TW, everything was in /sdcard. When you flashed Carbon (AOSP JB) Jellybean moved your internal storage to /0/sdcard and everything from TW is sort of hidden from that directory now. You should be able to see it or unhide that data in /data/media, /legacy, or /emulated if you switch back to TW. Idk if you'll be able to find it while currently on AOSP, someone correct me if I'm mistaken.

Hey man thanks for the reply-I repeated the whole process, doing a complete TWRP wipe as in no OS at all, flashed back to stock, flashed a "virgin" Carbon and Gapps,THEN did my TWRP restore (After a backup of the virgin Carbon). Now everything seems to be working normally.Evernote had to reformat and Swiftkey needed to download languages again but so far so good.
Hope this helps someone in the future-couldn't find any procedures for a restore AFTER doing a Full wipe, starting over from scratch. Now I know, first flash the ROM you will be restoring.

Hi i need help ASAP,
I backed up my phone with CWM it made a folder as a backup.
When I tried to restore the backup I navigated to the folder and it showed me inside that folder (like there are no files) instaed of starting the backup procces.
one more problem is that now i flashed another ROM with TWR and I didn't know it will be with TWR so I am not sure I can backup CWM with it.
please refer to my 2 questions as it combined.
Can you clarify if CWM is able to restore the Backup ? If its not, then the backup was not made successfully.
To your Question, are you saying you flashed TWRP Recovery and then flashed the new Rom ? If that's the case then the CWM backup can't be restored by TWRP.
EDIT - I should caution you that it is not a good idea to restore the backup made by one Recovery with another.
Flashed the 5.1 update, and then flashed the CWM recovery (Philz Touch). I proceeded to do a backup, when I went to my folder afterwards with root explorer, I do not see the backups, however going into the CWM shows the backups. I like to copy my backups over to a flash drive. Any ideas why root explorer is not seeing them but CWM shows all my backups even older ones prior to updating to 5.1? Thank you in advance.

Yes you have, and I appreciate your assistance, however I had problems with TWRP so I moved back to CWM. Yes I am aware it is old and outdated. Going to media/data/ I can see the backup. I did the restorecon, so I thought, but even with TWRP if I try to restore an old backup and I move it to the TWRP backup folder it does not see it, even when it is under data/media/ folder. Any ideas? Am I just not understanding or missing something?

CWM: uses /data/media/ so you cannot see it's stuff properly from within Android
TWRP: uses /data/media/0 so you should be able to see it properly from within Android
If you cannot see TWRP backups from within Android, you either have an issue with TWRP or you did not put your backup in the correct directory.
If you cannot see CWM backups from within Android, it is normal.

It allready hapenned with TWRP two or three versions back. Wait for new TWRP.
I did a TWRP backup on my Nexus 6P angler phone. The backup was of a stock 7.1.1 ROM downloaded from Googles developer site.
I renamed it so I would know that it is the backup for my phone and moved it onto my computer.
I performed a factory data reset and installed Lineage OS to try it out.
Did not like the lack of features so I decided to go back to my original backup.
I copied over the backup into the BACKUPS folder under sdcard/TWRP/BACKUPS.
Wiped data again and went to Restore in TWRP. THE LIST IS EMPTY... What do I do???

Hello & welcome to xda-assist,
I'm pretty sure that there's something wrong with your backup path, you can backup anything (best something small like efs) and see what path twrp creates and then put the backup file into the from twrp created backup folder (path)..
If you cannot solve the issue feel free to ask further questions in your specific device thread!
