Ever since I switched back to my Android phone, Push notifications for mentions never worked on my account anymore. Every time I go to enable it and push back, then go back to see if its still enabled, it automatically disables itself. Now I thought to my self that the app could be just broken, but I have 2 Twitter accounts, and my secondary account I use gets notifications just fine, buy my main one doesn't want to keep them enabled. So I thought it was my phone so I tried logging in on another Android device I have, same problem. Now with the new update that they released today, me thinking it would fix the problem, I go to turn on notifications, then I get "Updating Notification Settings" ......... "There was a problem updating notification setting". I have tried Googling this but can't find a fix anywhere. Any ideas?

Having the exact same problem.. tried deleting the data, removing the account. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app.. try checking if just 'Tweets' works.. that one works for me. But I don't want that.. lol
I'm having the same issue, I even tried resetting my phone from scratch with no data whatsoever, I even formatted it and wiped everything, I'm using CM9 on a Samsung Galaxy S2
RUnning the new v3.2.0, trying to set notification preferences, when I exit back to acct prefs, I get a toast saying "There was a problem updating notification settings." Is that what you're seeing as well?

Dan, I should have finished reading your post, lol
Yeah i guess its not just me, but im wondering why it does that for specific accounts? Like my second Twitter account works fine. I downloaded the Twitter 3.0 apk from 4shared, and that worked fine. I guess They keep breaking their own app.
3.0 works for you? Sweet. I'm gonna give it a go

Im on a samsung galaxy s 2 and having the same trouble, where do I find revoke applications?? Thanks guys
This happens when you have multiple mobile (android and ios) devices all signed in to one twitter account. Somewhere along the line, in between flashing ROMs with different build id's and or having two devices will confuse Twitter in a sense, so sign out and uninstall twitter from the other devices, go the desktop twitter site, and in settings, revoke twitter permissions you've granted and sign back in on your device. Everything will work fine. You'll be surprised that every twitter app you've ever tried is still in there, with access. Kill em' all....
Using the browser this link http://mobile.twitter.com/settings/change_ui will take you to the desktop version. Its a pain otherwise.
Settings>Apps you'll see it from there..

I did not have to remove all app access on twitter website - just removed any linked to mobile apps

Not getting push notifications on my Samsung galaxy note 2 4.1.2 .twitter ver 4.1.2 .have tried revoking access .signing out of device app.deleteing the app reinstalling then signing bk in .activating master sync and twitter sync.still not getting and notifications. able to get whatsapp Facebook gtalk and other notifications without any problem.
Just go to twitter.com / Settings / App / Then revoke Twitter for Android.
After doing it, Log in to Twitter for Android, put you password, and notifications should work!

Just go back into cheesecake and change the server to the Production server. That's the server where official OTA's come out.
wow its really that easy? trying it now
what is the default master cloud called its not changing
IT should be listed under "production". What does it say when you try to change it?
it says this should be good but then when i check to see what master cloud im on it still says master-qa4.blurdev.com

Happened to me once.... lol I forgot what I did to fix it. Try clearing the app data/cache and rebooting. If that doesn't work try uninstalling and re-installing
Hope that helps
can you give instructions on how to do that?

As long as you select production you should be fine. Production is the server that the OTA updates are released on.
I noticed that it always says that that is the current cloud. Don't stress about it too much.

Just say yes and let the phone set up a new sync account with Motorola. If the original one got unlinked there is not much else you can do. Every time you factory reset you also have to set up a new account. Once you do that everything should resync with the passwords for social networks already in your phone.

I agree. If the wifi symbol is not blue that means you are not logged into your main google account. Try logging into gmail from the website to confirm its working. Then check your account settings under accounts in the settings menu on the tab.

Hey guys, I have this problem and it is really annoying me and it is very serious.
I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus GT-I9105 (android version 4.2.2) and only a few hours ago, my Google Account showed "Can't Sync" and "Sync will be back shortly" type of messages. As a result, I couldn't sync contacts, access Google+ and couldn't open Google Play even if there was Wi-Fi.
Also note that every other account like Dropbox, Evernote, Whatsapp and Viber etc work and I am even able to browse the web on the Chrome app. Also the internet connection in my home is working okay.
I searched for solutions and some people said to remove and add my Google account again. I removed my account and after that I couldn't add it again.
Any help please. thanks a lot.

do a factory reset of your phone first
then try logging in
if not, flash another firmware would 100% fix the problem

you should be aware that you would definitely lose all your things on your phone one day.
try clearing data and force stop google service framework and things related to accounts
Hi,
Is anyone else seeing issues with Mail/Contact Sync after the official 7.0 update ? Although settings indicate that Auto-sync is on , it is not syncing(The last synced date also indicated that it hasn't synced ). Further if I press the Sync now button, nothing happens (and the last synced date remains unchanged). Only manually going into the app and refreshing it seems to bring in new mails.
Has anyone seen / encountered similar issues?

This happened to me even in marshmallow, but it never bothered me too much, I'm not on gmail a lot anyways
I think the issue may have been with the power saver mode.. Some apps are syncing now that I have turned it off. Looks like a change in behavior between 6.0 and 7.0

Ohhhhh... I always have power save on, that might explain why it never synced for me either lol. Like I said I never really use gmail so I didn't really look into it too much

Go to Settings > accounts & sync > Google > check whether Contacts have been synced .
If it shows the current/almost current time .. then they must not have been synced to google servers when you moved from 6.0 to 7.0..

Have you enabled any Battery/Power saving options ? It tends to mess with the syncing.
I cant synchronize my contact of HTC A9 even in off the power saver mode, please solve it
Thanks. Switched off Power Saver and things started settling and sync-ing.
