Hi All,
I have a Nokia Lumia 820 Developer device with a buggy and old firmware installed, here are the details:
Model: NOKIA id101
Carrier: Developper v3
Software: Windows Phone 8
RAM: 851
Screen resolution: 480:800
OS version: 8.0.9827.70
Firmware revision number: 1232.12.1235.5
Because this firmware is buggy I would like to update to a new firmware. For this I have installed the Nokia Care Suite and run the Nokia Product Support Tool 5.0 to get more device information, here it is:
Type Designator: RM-825
Model Name: Nokia Lumia XXX
Product Code: 059P710
Software Version: 1232.12.1235.5
Using this information I have downloaded the latest firmware from Nokia servers using NaviFirm+ 1.7. The only problem was that I couldn't find a firmware that matches my Product Code: 059P710.
The good news is that I have found another Nokia Lumia 820 Developer Device firmware version 1232.2110.1244.3002 but the Product Code is different than mine, it's 059R4L7.
Now, in order to install this new firmware I have followed these 2 steps:
1)Renamed the files from the firmware directory c:\ProgramData\Nokia\Packages\Products\RM-825\ by replaceing the new product code 059R4L7 with the code that my phone has 059P710.
2)Opened Nokia Product Support Tool 5.0 and begin the Refurbish procedure, this procedure will replace my old firmware 1232.12.1235.5 with the new firmware 1232.2110.1244.3002.
Things seem to work, my phone is restarted and moved to Flash Mode but then I get this error:
Refurbish Failed
Signed FFU programing operation has failed with error code: 1313819477
See the attached image: Lumia820_Refurbish_Error.png
Can someone please help?
Is there another way to put a new firmware on my phone?
Please help!!!
Thanks,
Mircea
I have to use Recovery for changing firmware with difer Product Code. Refurbish is only to able flash the firmware with same PC.
I have tried Recovery also but I still get an error:
Recovery Failed
Unable to get error message
See attached image: Lumia820_Recovery_Error.jpg
I think that Windows Phone 8 has secured the firmware update process and is now checking the Product Code just before it starts the firmware install.
Can you please help?
Did you change your firmware with one that has a diferent Product Code? If so, did you change it on a Windows Phone 8 device?
Please help!
Thanks

Hi I personally don't do "refurbish" method, but instead I use "recovery" with the phone turned off. Try it and I hope it won't kill your phone.
recovery mode
How do you put the phone in recovery mode?

i think you must keep pressed vol down+power button until the Phone vibrate.
Sent from my Lumia 820 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
I have just updated my Lumia 820 product code 059Q8W4 (Vodafone DE).
I used Nokia Care Suite 5.0 2012.45.4.5 to flash the phone with RM-825 VAR EURO2 CH ORANGE BLACK (059R2S0) downloaded with NaviFirm+ v1.7
I used the "Recovery" mode in Product Support Tool for Store, to do the update.
I have not found any problems with the update jet. The restore of settings and app from the cloid was very smooth, only neede to redo my startscreen and setup wifi.

Which PC operating system you used and the NCS with which Settings?
I tried this also yesterday with the same firmware without success.
My Nokia Lumia 820 has not even automatically restarted to go into the boot loader.
Also press "On / Off - Volume Down" button does not work.
Addendum:
This day I tray again with this firmware (RM-825 VAR EURO2 CH ORANGE BLACK (059R2S0)) and look that, it works!!!
My Nokia Lumia 820 is now a half-official Orange Switzerland phone, hihihi.
First, is a good firmware with my 1wish/hope: "WLan let activ with activ lockscreen"!!! :good:
Also its true, the 4G is not aviable, but will be updating later with a new firmware for sure.
Cool!!! Testing more this firmware, but till now not bad. :highfive: :good:
Hello all,
I have my Lumia 820 now since 4 weeks and I tried to read all about flashing a new Firmware, like the topics in Lumia 900 and Lumia 920 Section.
I came from the HD2 and I know few things about flashing, but Nokia is new for me.
My Device has at the moment the Firmware 1232.2109.1242.1002
I found out that available for me is: 1232.5951.1249.1004
The name is: 059Q9G6 RM-825_TMO_DE_VAR259454_12491_001_Black_v2_Default
I think the file should fit all my requirements (German T-Mobile Device).
My question now is, how can I backup my old Firmware, because in NCS I can’t find it and it seems that my old one is not available online.. I found some Tuts for flashing the device, I backuped all Settings in my Live-ID online. How can I restore after flashing the new Firmware?
There is also a Developer Firmware available, any improvements for me flashing this?
My device is not unlocked, will it be after flashing?
Maybe someone can help me trying to explain the most points I need to pay attention to so I don’t brick my device.
Thanks
Have you found a solution to your problem as I have exactly the same issue and got stuck. Thanks

Solution for Touch not working after Amber update
When your touch screen is not responding after updating to Amber (&GDR2) it is likely due to a non-original digitizer.
You have probably changed your digitizer after it cracked, right?
Non original digitizers directly from Nokia or trusted resellers do not work!
There is no solution other than finding an original digitizer and swap it with the cheap china version, you installed.
Then everything works as it should.
I recently had to do a factory reset on my 820 because of a software glitch (wouldnt send or recieve pictures went to att and microsoft). Anyway its reset and now its stuck on 10211.204. Wondering is there any way to force the phone to get the update or do i have to wait it out?

You are on the most up-to-date lumia 820 official OS version. The Lumia 820 will get Amber hopefully in the next week or so.
I recently updated my Lumia 1020 rm 875 to windows 8.1 and been having numerous problems, the phone shuts down on itself, overheats camera not working and other issues, I know I cannot downgrade using the provided windows Phone tools by microsoft that is why I am here, is there anyone who has the stock rom for my phone who can help with a Link? ::crying::crying:
Hi, I have this device called the Bluewave Wave 8 HD+ running Kitkat 4.4.4. Bluewave, the manufacturer, decided to sell a whole new device with the same chip (Rockchip RK3288), same everything but with a new version of the OS and a bigger battery instead of just providing a software update. Their first device in the lineup was my device. Their second device was the Bluewave Wave 8 HD+ Lollipop. Their third is the Bluewave Wave 8 HD+ Marshmallow.
Here's the thing. I've got the Kitkat one. I wanted to upgrade to Marshmallow. So I flashed the Marshmallow Rom from the Marshmallow Version of my device to my Kitkat Device. At first boot, the screen was blank but with the backlight on. So restarted the device. I then discovered that the OS was actually booted. I discovered this when I connected the tablet to the TV. Everything works like the touch screen, etc. except for the tablet display.
Does android require appropriate drivers for the display?
If it does, Can I just copy the display drivers from the Kitkat Versio n to the Marshmallow one?
I can't seem to figure this out why the tablet display is blank.
You can check out the tablets I've said earlier on their website on Bluewave Global. This company really sucks in my opinion. They decided to sell another device instead of just providing an upgrade.
Hi,
I was just reading that you cannot restore a backup from a newer version of Android to an older version of Android. I just got the Motorola One 5G Ace and I'm about to activate it. My old phone is a pixel 3 which already has Android 11. My Motorola came with Android 10. Has anyone had any experience moving from a phone with a newer version of Android to an older? Is it going to choke when it tries to download everything from the Google Drive back up?
Thanks!
