Can anyone please help me with rooting for my phone,
My phone model is Lava 406Q. I was able to root my phone with vroot before the Android KitKat upgrade. Now I am unable to do so. I have tried following applications for rooting:

I tried to root with stump root and it didn't root but, "Device is patched, Sorry"?
I have the LG G3 VS985. Bought it on 12/24/14 and the UPC tag said it was made in 11/14. So they must have patched it so it couldn't be rooted with Stump Root. Will there be any updates to over come their patch?

So you may have to try the most popular/common generic rooting methods, such as:

Root any Android device (without pc n in one click)
[TOOL] Rootx 2.2 (Rev 3 )- Root almost all android devices
[ROOT] Framaroot, a one-click apk to root some devices
Hopefully one of them will work for you too but be carefully and do a backup before trying anything.

anyone know how to root a blu studio 5.0 lte i have been trying various methods and cant for the life of me get it rooted. ive tried towel root framaroot and also using the sdk manager method but cant get the device to show up on the list of connected devices after installing drivers. any help would be appreciated. the reason im trying to root is to make apps install onto my sd card and also update to anything better than 4.3 thanks.

You can try a one touch root like this. It is dangerous. There is no recovery, so you can not unbrick it. That is why main stream phones like the moto x are worth the extra money.
