S-Pen pressure more sensitive in certain areas? - Note Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

While using Infinite Painter or Autodesk Sketchbook, I've noticed the S-Pen sensitivity is much higher in the lower right corner of the screen. Has anyone else noticed this? The phone is brand new. I'm curious if it may be a result of the Samsung Flip Wallet's magnet.

This is an example. Using same pressure.

Can somebody at least confirm that they DON'T have this problem?

I don't have any issues with pressure sensitivity...

LCD not responsive at the edge...because of the case?

Hi all,
It seems to me that the edge of the lcd screen is not responsive (both left and right) at times when I put it inside a leather case(similar to theM1 case). If I take it out of the case, it's very responsive.
Does anyone notice the same problem?
Thanks.
I've brought that up before. Out of the case the screen is very responsive all over. In a case it's much less responsive around the edges. If you use the screen calibration apk it helps a little, and I find you get a better response around the edges using your thumb than pointer.
I don't know of any real solution, or what causes it.

glad to know i am not the only one with the problem.
My guess is that the case must touch the tablet somewhere that confuses the touch sensor.
mine did this for a little while and then just went away. the calibration didn't help and reloading the ROM didn't either.

Can you try to remember what you could have done to make it go away? Changed or modified the case in anyway?
It's so annoying.
It seems as if the G-Tablet's touch sensor is EXTREMELY sensitive. It even detected my headphone wire touching it. I knew this because when I would touch it at the same time the wire was on it, it would start spazzing out. Remove the wire, effect gone. Be happy that this thing is ultrasensitive. Could be worse, could be a resistive touchscreen.
its not possible it is a capcitative touch screen. I am experiencing the same problem I think it has do with part of our finger is on the case and not on the screen. If i press on it and roll it side to side a bit it will pick up my touch
I have found that using live wallpapers reduces the responsiveness of the touch screen especially around the edges.
Base on my experience with these device in the past, all the live wallpaper does is eat up your cpu horsepower. You want your device to operate at its optimum, yes? Just use a regular wallpaper. Kill all non-essential tasks.
Unfortunately I don't have any productive advice but I can tell you that I bought the p4 case off of steve (great website fast shipping) and a capacitive stylus. Like you described it was totally unresponsive toward the edges. I tried the calibration app and no significant success. After a couple of days use it started registering the touches consistently.

touch screen acting strange in some places

The touchscreen acts weird just above the samsung logo when i'm using the s-pen. it's not accurate at alle (the line is drawn a cm from the point of the stylus) and movements are way bigger than what i'm actually doing with the s-pen. Is this only on my tablet or is it a general issue?

Are you charging your tablet? Because if I remember correctly, some reported that when charging GN it may have some problems with touch screen.

No, not charging. Just under the front facing camera i have the same problem. The problem is the magnet in the case i'm using!! The problem disappears when the case is not attached. This sucks!

Yes. Magnets are not good with a Wacom digitizer.
A Wacom digitizer acts by generating a small variable electromagnetic field. It induces a small AC current in the little LC circuit in the pen (that needs not be alimented). This AC current is then detected by the Wacom digitizer (present in the Note's screen) when it switches to "receiving" mode (it switches from send to receive mode many times per second).
In this way the Note knows where the pen is located.
Any magnet nearby the screen can disturb the signal sent and received.
It's not really a flaw in the Note's hardware or software but something that is inherent in how the Wacom digitizer works.
Simple solution: it's better to avoid cases with magnets.
(and that also explains why Samsung original cases don't have magnets... correct me if I'm wrong)

I bought the case of ebay, it's very good, but the magnets are not a good idea indeed. I'll try some shielding, but that will be quite difficult.

S-Pen requires an extra press?

Hi guys,
Im coming from a Galaxy note. Ive noticed that S-Pen on Note 10.1 requires some pressing to register an input either it is navigating through the UI or writing. It wasn't like that in Note. I have also noticed that scrolling, if done with s-Pen, is quite laggy and it stutters.
Has anyone else been experiencing the same?
Nope, no issues here. Could maybe be a screen protector issue or pressing the button before the pen is close enough to the screen to register. Turn on the hover for the pen in your settings to make sure the pen is close enough.

I have not applied any screen protector yet.
Hover is already turned on.
The point is that scrolling and navigating the UI is not smooth if done with S-Pen. It has to be pressed quite hard. In case of finger, even a slight touch gets registered. At least that's how I feel.
Just try scrolling / navigating with S-Pen using the slightest of pressure possible.
Another thing! You cant quite flick the screen for scrolling with s-pen like you can with your finger which is bcoz of the same issue i.e., s-Pen requiring extra pressure.

Although I have no issues with scrolling with pen and it just takes a medium to light touch, I prefer to hold the pen in hand and use the little finger to flick to scroll. It feels more natural that way and is probably less wear and tear on the screen.
Try replacing your tip with the completely white one. That might help.

Yeah I would like to know that too.

Replaced the black one with the white and situation is really somewhat better. White one is the same as the one I had on my N7000. Black one is more of a sticky nature; i couldn't write fastly with it and scrolling was laggier too. Now it is quite ok.
Thanks!

Stylus not flush with bottom of phone

Just got Note 5 and the stylus is not quite flush with bottom of device. It protrudes just a bit and it's a little bit annoying but was wondering if anyone else has same issue.

I bought 3 and the pens are not flushed with any of them. It doesn't bother me; the top of the pen is not curved to match the contour of the corner.
The one I demoed in the store was actually flush.
It's very slight but I just assumed it was to make it easier to push in to release it.
I can feel it slightly also. This could be by design to make it easier to "feel" for the pen. If it was 100% flush with the phone it would be more difficult to feel without being able to see it (for example, during the night in bed)...
I think they are all like this, so it's not a defect with your particular phone.
My s pen was flush in the beginning. Now it's not. I am a heavy s pen user. I'm wondering if the spring inside was too compressed and now it has loosen. Not happy. ?

If you run naked it would be annoying, but if you use a case it really wouldn't matter at all.

Anyone seeing touch sensitivity issues with poco x2?

I am seeing cases where the phone would register touches when the finger is near the screen. Anyone else seeing this?
