Verizon s3 sch-i535 is already unlocked
Verizon s3 sch-i535 is already unlocked. You just have to go to Settings>more settings>mobile networks>network mode and select gsm/umts.
I've done that but still nothing.

If your speaking of bootloader unlocked it's not possible. Sim unlocked is a different story.
The newest 4.4.2 NE1 update is locked down and you will not be able to unlock the bootloader

You're asking about it being sim unlocked. As stated it is already unlocked. You'll need a sim card from your carrier, not Verizon. Then add your carriers APN settings which should be simple enough to find, just Google it. Use the global mode, not GSM/umts. You'll get an annoying persistent notification saying unrecognized sim or something like that but it doesn't affect anything. Hope this helps
I need to Carrier Unlock my Rooted Verizon Galaxy S3 4.4.2, there are no custom ROMs installed, i rooted it using towelroot method, anyway i can carrier unlock this to use any SIM like t-mobile/att/sprint/ or any international services? also i heard i need APNs, what are APNs and how do i acquire them? APNs are used to identify what network a phone is on or used on. It's carrier unlocked out of the box/from the factory.

Hey guys, I recently purchased an LG G3 AT&T Factory unlocked so other network carriers can be used. But when I click software update it already says I'm updated (CURRENTLY RUNNING LOLLIPOP 5.0.1) so I assume you need to have an AT&T sim card to update your software.
Is there like any way to bypass that so I can update my phone to android 6.0? If so how? and would I need to have it factory unlocked again?
I'm new to this, so detailed explanation would be deeply appreciated!
Cheers!

The AT&T model does not come factory unlocked. It's a carrier model and has to be manually unlocked. So if you bought it new it cannot be new as the seller would of had to open it to unlock it.
But no there is no other way to do OTA updates on it without an AT&T sim, go phone sim , or H2O prepaid sim.

H2O sims can be gotten for under $1 on Amazon or eBay. And you don't have to add money to activate them.

So if I got a used AT&T G3, I could buy an H2O sim, activate it, get the OTA Marshmallow update, the remove that sim and put in my CC sim? Even if I had to buy the $10 Paygo plan, it would be worth it

Hey were you able to install marshmallow on at&t D850 by ordering H2O sim?
Please do mention when you inserted that sim then you were in H2O network range or overseas? (as I am in New Zealand)
and how did you manage to install after inserting sim?
Thanks for helping pal.

Word of caution. Be familiar with how to revert to KK using the tot method. I say this because if the phone has been rooted, and all that was done was uninstall the root app and factory reset, the phone may not take an OTA update as it will read the system as modified. Plenty of discussion on this here in the forums. Also keep in mind that there is no permanent root method for MM as of yet.

I bought a 2015 Moto G instead of the LG G3. Decided to go with something not quite so large and with manufacturer (as opposed to carrier) support for MM. After looking at them "in the flesh" I decided the G3 was a larger phone than I wanted. Thanks for your help.

No. Sim unlock is completely different than bootloader unlock. you will have to contact t-mo for sim unlock.
