I have bought an Allwinner A23 7" Tablet from Amazon: www . amazon . de/gp/product/B00KD930W8
The hardware works fine, but there are Virus and Adware in the ROM, identified by Sophos anti virus tool
com.android.server - Andr/Closer-A
Google - Andr/Sivu-A
service provider (Adware)
com.softwinner.videotest (Low reputation app)
DragonFire-v2.3 (Low reputation app)
DragonPhone (Low reputation app)
Sophos doesn't remove that and it's still there after wiping to factory settings.
When I open the built in Browser app, it's start page is always some other website, not possible to change that.
From time to time random ads pop up out of nowhere.
While booting, it shows a PHROG7 logo, not sure if it's relevant.

Any idea on what rom upgrade I can use on this device. It is rooted, but as with all Android devices the manufacturers are not great at upgrading their OS.
The version 4.2.2 is an issue for me playing video at 720p or higher and feel I will get better support from 4.4 or above.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a problem with this tablet. The picture on tablet was shifted about 1.5cm to right and 0.5cm to down. Also, after the latest update, when I lock tablet I can`t unlock it. (when I try to unlock, stay black screen and does not show picture). Can anyone help, please. p.s. sorry for my bad english

I have tried to modify the system configuration file for the U102 image file, so as to try to turn on the wifi chip, but without success. Any help appreciated.

Hi, I bought a tablet from a online retailer. I have had issues with the tablet apps in the Android store not working or not compatible I also get a error message "E: fopen error /data/CustomInitLog". I have reached out to the store I have bought it from they are no help Just just tell me to "root" the device. I did some searching and found out it is a chinesse made tablet. I message the company and they are no help either. After doing somemore research on the tablet I found out it was rooted with a program called Kingo Root by the store I bought it from or company not sure on that one. Can someone help me get this tablet updated and running so I can use the apps in the Android market and not just some of them. Help me figure out this error "E: fopen error /data/CustomInitLog" and how to fix it. This is my first tablet I am a noob when it comes to this stuff and have no idea on how to "root" a device please help me.

As for root, I couldn't find any information about your device being rooted. So it is highly likely it can't be rooted.

I have Android head unit i bought off ebay it works but i need to know more and what i can do with it i tried to install viper4android from an apk i got this site says it cant because its not rooted it wont find the driver im going nuts.

Your head unit should be a 8227L model
You need to root.
Find information about your model on the Android Auto forum or on the net, for ex.

Always check if the instructions provided are compatible with your Android version 9.1.
BTW, your unit is not an MTCD/E model, so look in the general head unit forum section.
