if your contact are sync to gmail, on your browser, you can go gmail > contacts > more actions > find & merge duplicates

I have an issue with knowing 2 people with the same name (spelled the same)...so my n1 recognizes them both as 1 person with 2 facebook accounts and different phone numbers, 2 different birthdays, etc...is there anyway i can separate the 2????
So I don't get what HTC did with the Thunderbolt....on my Incredible it used to send my contacts I added to the phone on Google. However now it doesn't sync them. And I can't find an option to save to Google instead of Phone.
When you add a contact, the second field is contact type: phone or Google. Choose Google to add to the Google cloud.

I have noticed, (and this I very annoying) , that when I first setup a new rom, after syncing my google account, it creates duplicate entries, one called phone and one called google of the same phone number.

It doesn't sync them because by default new contacts are not set up as google contacts. After selecting to make a new contact you must before inputting the name manually make it a google contact.

Hit menu
Hit view
Uncheck everything but Google.
This will make your default Google when u add a new one.
Then they will sync

And there is no way to edit where the contact saves to AFTER you make it? I could've sworn I could change it on my Inc.

Sure you can edit contacts. Go into the People app, click on one of your contacts, and press the Menu button and choose Edit. Not only that, but in the edit screen you can choose to link identical names in your phone book and the you can see what information is stored in the phone (which syncs to Verizon's Backup Assistant) and what is stored in Google.
Knave68's post above tells you how to make sure that your phone will sync with your Google account.
It doesn't let you switch between a phone contact to a google contact, am I missing something?
Go to people, hit menu, import/export, export to SD.
Then choose phone. This will export all your phone only contacts to a vcard file.
Then choose import from SD and set Google as the destination.

Thanks. It sucks they make it that difficult but that should do the trick.
I called T-Mobile to see if there's a way to save my contacts to my similar card and they couldn't help me, I can't find a option so if any one knows how to please tell me

The sim card memory is very limited and name fields, etc. are very short. In the contacts app you can export them to your sd card. Also they are automatically backed up to your Google account online.
Hi folks, I have set my corporate email to my galaxy note 2. Since i have made my corporate email to move automatically to the local drive, the emails on my phone will be automatically dissapear when its move to my local drive.
Is there any application that could copy my emails automatically to my phone or if it could copy to the cloud storage will be better.

I lost half of my contacts even more.. I have 1458 contacts synchronyze with Gmail now i have 158... I tray delete account and synchronyze again but my contacts are no showing all.. I try with fix and there is all my contacts but in app still missing... HELP

Hmmm...open you gmail and check your contact...if you sync it correctly then in gmail they should be 1458 contact...if not then whatever contact you have in gmail will be sync in your phone...
try opening contact/option/contact to display...make sure to select all contact option....

well then, if you always sync but suddenly its now working any more then just clear data on contact and contact storage...reboot then try to sync again...if its still doesn't work then using gmail export you contact to your pc (use vcard format) then transfer the vcard to your phone and import all vcard to you contact...
