I can't seem to send MMS text messages on any app but the default Messaging texting app. On CM12 bacon, I can only send MMS with the default Messaging app, but if I use Google's Messenger or Hangouts, I can't send MMS and only SMS. I also experienced the same issue on JFLTEATT CM12. On the S4 CM12, I could only send MMS on the default Messaging app, but when I used a GPE rom, I could send MMS on any texting app.
Does anyone else have this problem?
Does anyone know if the CM Messaging app changes APNs so that it can send MMS, while the other texting apps down?

Hey,
so I'm currently in Vietnam and group mms doesn't work out here. Is there a way to disable it? In the stock messaging app, if I sent a group message, it would just send a single sms to each person [which is what I want to happen], but in hangouts it tries to send an mms and it just gets stuck.

This is a generalised issue which all the users except USA (?) are facing. .
My group sms also get converted to MMS and that really pushes the bill high. Google needs to fix it. For the time being I am relying on third party app.
Hey Guys,
I wanted to know if there is a app that combines the hangouts with sms/mms,
What i mean is i have looked into CM Mms with sliding (hangouts) navigation & 8sms.
But both miss a feature that i like on hangouts when texting and that is the archive mode, use it all the time and right now hangouts is my main use.
Hopefully there is an app for this.
Thanks
Only Hangouts can send/receive Hangouts messages

Im talking about the SMS part, and how you can archive the sms
Hi!
I just downloaded Textra. I have no problems sending SMS, but I have problems with MMS. Every time I send a MMS, I get a reply with the message:
"One or more of the message components have been deleted by MMS Adaptation. Either the message was too large or the components were unsuitable for your terminal."
I have set the Send Size Limit for photos to 300KB. APN Settings is correct, as when I use the Samsung SMS app, it works.
Is it some setting I need to do? I am not sure if the Textra app is automatically resizing the photos?
I am using a Samsung Galaxy Note 4, running on Android version 4.4.4
Will appreciate if anyone has any solution to this? I am not a mobile user in USA but in Singapore
Thanks!
I think it's a compatibility problem on android 4.4.4.
You should notify to the deverlopers.
Currently on OPO Cyanogen CM13, 6.0.1
Been having this issue with SMS apps lately, perhaps I'm too picky, but have been looking for a good app that has chat heads and does it as well as Facebook's Messenger.
Now, I believe as of June, Messenger rolled out its new SMS integration allowing you to not only use it for Facebook messaging, but for SMS as well. Great. Too bad I've been so used to the amazing customization of Textra for nearly 2 years.
Messenger is severely lacking so far in terms of customization. It doesn't really jive well with the theme of my phone. (Boohoo right?)
Now, the issue arises in trying to send Facebook SMS and Textra SMS at the same time. Facebook SMS doesn't wake the screen, or have colored icons or chats, something I paid money for to have in textra.
I'm faced with needing to pick a default SMS for the sending app. I can receive notifications on both. But how can I bypass the sending option?
Reason being, I'm willing to part with the base part of textra if I can get the notifications to work, and send my SMS from fb messenger.
Tldr: I want to be able to send SMS from Facebook messenger and textra at the same time without switching default SMS apps.
Or send SMS from fb messenger and receive notifications only on textra.
Here's to never settling.
When people include me in a group message it by default coverts it into an MMS like most other phones. When I receive any MMS the subject line shows underneath and was wondering if there was a way to get rid of it. My S7 Edge used to show group mms's as regular messages without the subject line below it. Anyone know or have an idea?
The included messaging app does this...use textra, or another 3rd party messaging app. I've found textra to work with no issues...can also set the mms delivery size up to your carrier limits...
