[Q] Europe stock RUU for HTC M8Sw (China Unicom)

Hi, I would like to replace the stock RUU on my HTC one M8Sw by a WWE stock RUU.
Custom ROM are not suitable as I need to have access to OTA and to use Worx home (for work emails)
My phone has currently:
- Bootloader unlocked
- TWRP
- Rooted
- S-off
I understand that I'd have to change the CID to match the new rom.
Is there such rom available? if so, is there a listing somewhere?

Have you found any such ROM yet?

Not available yet Europe WWE rom for E8 but you can try Asia WWE rom from India E8 rom.

Yes, I've came across your post but what would be the advantage over the UniCom ROM?
Have they NOT got all the bloatware in the ROM or what?
I am using the M8 DualSIM port but one of the reasons - apart form being dual SIM - I've upgraded from M7 is the camera and with the ported ROM the original camera app does not work with high resolution and Google Camera has somewhat reduced usability.
Also - according to your post - the India version seems to be an M8sS version instead M8sW? Has that any affect?

Indian rom is WWE Asia with dual Sim. This rom have multi Sim menu. Currently we don't have RUU yet for India rom so only by using TWRP Backup we can install Asia WWE rom with dual Sim menu on Unicom phone. Free from bloatware and you got great camera apps.
Since this only TWRP Backup, nothing change on firmware mean that phone firmware use your original Unicom.
If any OTA coming to be safe don't install it. Better ask other user to make another clean TWRP Backup and flash again on your phone.
This will reduce hard brick due to incompatibility between Unicom firmware and India firmware.

no, the ROM is based on 5.0.1 and the original STOCK is based on 4.4.2

If that....

I think flashing a (boot.img) of an E8 custom rom after flashing Skydragon could solve the problem!

Hi Greg,
I'm not sure, but I think this ROM is only for the Asian version of the E8 with dualsim. I bought it in Germany, but I will try to extract the boot.img of this version of ROM.

hi greg,
I think bindroid isn't a ROM for the german version of the HTC One E8. I extracted boot.img out of this ROM and flashed after installing Skydragon for M8 without success.
Any other ideas?

If your E8 is Dual Sim, BinDroid will work on it
ALL E8 boot.img for dualsims will work on any dualsim
Don't try M8 boot.img, we have a better version of the Snapdragon then the m8

[Q] HTC E8 - A ROM to contain all languages

Hi.
I have a HTC E8(Single sim) that was purchased in Germany.
It runs stock 4.4.2.
For some reason, the language selection screen has less languages than the general Android. For example, it lacks Russian.
Should I reflash the ROM to get it ?
What I already did:
Unlock the bootloader - using the HTC dev site.
Flashed the twrp - didn't work, after a reboot I still see the stock recovery (should I S-OFF or something?).
I didn't use the "Battery out method". I mean I did boot to the stock ROM after flashing TWRP. May be my ROM overwrites the recovery on boot .
Can I somehow add the language files to the existing ROM ? Should I have TWRP for it or can I flash it with fastboot ?
I am OK with any generic or custom ROM that doesn't have any bugs running on E8 (CM doesn't support E8 it seems ).
I don't need root. I only need the language.
All help is very appreciated.

I think he has the M8Sn OPAJ3000, what differs from your model.

Hey. The M7 was a flagship, and had a great reach. The E8 on the other hand is a region specific phone with hardly any reach. And all devs prefer the M8 which is just a bit costlier. If a dev or two would get this device, we'll see custom roms for this beauty too, otherwise it's just not gonna happen.

I work on port best rom for m8 Android Revolution HD by mike1986 to E8. If i boot system than open new thread on Android Developer section.

What kind of E8 do you use? Single SIM? What Model?

E8 M8SX but is compatible with M8ST. Now i have 4.4.4 from M8ST.

BlackVictor ported ROMS for HTC One E8

1. sorry if this has been discussed.
2. there are some e8 roms, ported from m8 to e8 by BlackVictor.
3. These including ViperOne, MaximusHD, SoulROM, & SkyDragon.
4. Unfortunately, most are for e8 dual sim variant.

Well tried the sky dragon rom and the viper rom... Sky dragon gives signal in second sim only while viper doesn't give a signal at all..
I'm on m8sd . Anybody have any solutions?

I am downloading SkyDragon. I did not know anything about this roms.

SkyDragon Rom is not for HTC ONE E8. My phone is in hboot loop.

2. However, BlackVictor did some modification & ported it to E8. That's why this topic is specifically for BlackVictor's ported ROM for M8 to E8.
3. You have to download the ported ROMS for E8 from the link I gave in the 1st post.
4. If you download the ROMs from their official websites, they are not for E8. They are unmodified ROMS for M8.
Please read & understand carefully to avoid bricking your device.

3. but i downloaded those roms by BlackVictor. and tested ALL of them one by one on my e8 single sim. some worked, some didnt.
4. right now, i am using BlackVictor SkyDragon ported ROM with the patch for single sim and it works flawlessly. no problem at all so far.
5. you have to S-Off your device to be able to unlock everything and flash custom ROMs like a boss.

Could please give me link which one should I download and is there viper rom there fr m8sx

SkyDragon Rom for E8 is really nice. I have one day with it installed.

Can anybody please tell me how to use these roms on the indian dual sim version m8sd?
Those roms are for m8sd europe dualsim.. Will using the Europe dual sim recovery and flashing on top of it will get me signal?

I use M8Sn Single SIM variant. Installed the ROM and used the Patch, stuck at HTC screen and can only access to power menu.

Hold LONG VolUp+Power to turn of when stuck.Then later try to get into recovery VolDown+Power (I can't believe that is no way to get into bootloader or RECOVERY - can't be bricked) Take "out" (using winrar) from zip file with ROM boot.img and flash it.That can help - I had like that with ViperOne for M7 and it helps. Good luck man. BTW - I am not taking any responsibility if something bad happen.

Restart several times, factory reset or wipe cache nd dalvik from recovery..Either of them will work.I've tried and once you get past the screen there won't be any problems.
Btw anybody know how to get signal on these roms for m8sd Indian version?
Have asked a number of times,but to no avail..!

Well, I passed the screen on all roms that have mentiones in this thread. Each and every one of them had data problem, I couldn't activate mobile data, or I could activate and it says "Disconnected". I tried everything, like changing APN manually and flashing radio etc., no luck.

I had flash SkyDragon Rom for E8 (m8sx)
the system ui is very smooth . However,i feel that the battery had a little drained
I have a question , the funnction " ok google" does not use

I also had flashed ViperOne e8 . it was very smooth.
the plug (xopsed+ intelli3g ) i also has installed. The battery had consumed was very well.
