You can't use fastboot commands with a locked boot loader.

[Q] Error with boot

Hello, I was installing a recovery in my htc one s. In step, type command:
"fastboot flash recovery boot.img",
I wrote "fastboot boot boot.img",
and boot.img was clockwork recovery, now, my phone is rebooting all time, and frezing in htc.
I need help, I don't know nothing of android, I need change my error by the default boot, but in bootloader, when I try default settings, this go to clockwork mod
Thanks, I wait your replies

Can the 'bootloader' be downgraded to 25r?

As the title states...can we flash just the bootloader from 25R onto 30O using fastboot? And if so, therefore allow for the temporary boot of a custom recovery. Until now, I've only owned/flashed Samsung devices so still learning the fastboot idioms. Any ideas or nah?
You can boot a recovery without flash it .. fastboot boot recovery.img
Why are you wanting to downgrade a bootloader to 25R? There aren't any restrictions.
If you want to temporarily boot a recovery, then just type what nneves said.
Theres no need to downgrade your bootloader.
Since the firmware has been updated to 30O, this cannot be done. I used the 'boot recovery' method while on 25R, but for some reason (security?) they have blocked that exploit, hence the question at hand.
I had even tried this method I found in a Nexus forum:
Here's some instructions I compiled for doing useful things with your Nexus. Also includes instruction to root nexus 4 without installing a custom recovery. Basically, you save the customrecovery.zip file then fastboot boot into it (NOT install, and notice you have to type the full command specified below, not just "fastboot boot customrecovery.img") and then install using the custom recovery, install SuperSU.zip for unrooting:
1) Install all STOCK files:
./fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-XXX.img ./fastboot reboot-bootloader ./fastboot flash radio radio-XXX-XXX.img ./fastboot reboot-bootloader ./fastboot -w update image-XXX-XXX.zip ./fastboot oem unlock (to unlock bootloader)
2) If you want to keep stock recovery, fast boot BOOT into custom recovery and install SuperSu.zip: 3) Install SuperSu.zip file (to root)
./fastboot -c "lge.kcal=0|0|0|x" boot customrecovery.img
there used to be a 'fastboot boot recovery recovery.img' command, but Google removed it in 4.3, so now to simply boot into your custom recovery you can type 'fastboot -c "lge.kcal=0|0|0|x" boot customrecovery.img' instead and it'll do the same thing as the 'fastboot boot' command. Meaning it will revert to your stock recovery once you reboot. So boot into custom recovery, flash superuser (Koush or Chainfire's) and reboot. done.
It didn't work but maybe another code for our device is needed?
Just going to give this a little bump...
there is a stock 25R ROM zip floating around here somewhere. you should just be able to flash it via recovery using twrp, if you're just wanting to go back to flat stock. let me know if you can't find it, i think i may have it somewhere.
Wouldn't you need to unlock the bootloader to downgrade to 25R? I think that there would be some sort of check in the signed 25R OTA update that would prevent you from flashing it.

[Completed] Recovery not available

Hi,
Device is: Asus Zenfone 2, Z008
At some point I managed to brick it. Restored it using xFstk and some fastboot magic.
Now, the big issue is, I cannot boot to recovery.
I can load bootloader (do fastboot commands), chose "Recovery", but it will just boot normal into the OS. Droid with hazard doesn't appear, just normal boot.
Tried (not all at once)
fastboot erase cache
fastboot format cache
installing twrp
flashing stock recovery.img
No joy.
What am I missing?

Hi !
A quick answer has been provided here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71063211&postcount=598
Try this command after placing this recovery img into the adb folder and boot into bootloader
fastboot devices
enter
(check if it is recognised) then
fastboot boot recovery.img
( where recovery.img should be the exact name of your recovery you want to boot into)
Keep an eye on that thread you already have posted , more users may have replied
Good luck !

cannot fastboot boot twrp on 5.1.9

hi..can you all help me..im already unlock my bootloader and follow the guide..but im stuck in fastboot boot twrp..it show cannot load...help me
Try the command "fastboot devices".
Does your phone show up in the list of connected devices?
If so, when you use fastboot boot xxxxxx are you attempting to boot using the zip file or img?
When using fastboot boot you must boot with the img, but then when you've booted it and want to flash it through TWRP, you flash the zip.
Hope this helps!

not going into system after flashing twrp via fastboot

this is not troll, i just forgot command, but i understand where is problem, i just need help in issuing command, and also keeping TWRP after booting in system
okay, this is not usuall getting stuck in twrp after flashing it via fastboot.
i just need help how to boot , system
because way i installed it, is via fastboot:
' fastboot flash recovery twrp.img '
done good
but i mistakenly followed tutorial , and executed what they said should be okay (i mean it is okay, to boot it into recovery, but my phone manufacturer is stupid and don't include proper fastboot)
so i typed command
' fastboot boot recovery '
which it booted into recovery, and when i reboot into 'system' from twrp it boots into system. i had same issue, but i forgot command how to do this (and link to that solution also)
i just know that, last command, my phone misinterpret it , to boot recovery as boot way. instead of kernel, boot.img
------------------------------------------
because we have beautifull documentation on fastbood issued by google, i don't know how to make it boot system, i mean, boot.img
and, i want it to keep twrp installed, suprisingly, when i go power + volume up , sometimes it brings stock recovery and sometimes twrp.
for now, help me how to issue command, to boot kernel and not recovery
- and phone is: Allview Viva H801 , android 5.0
yea, some no name, that's why i'm asking for help
---------------
EDIT:
i think i managed to permamently flash TWRP, which was purpose, because now I can, use power on + volume up , and it always brings up TWRP (yay)
but now, i don't know how i can access bootloader (fastboot) , if i need to issue commands you instruct me to issue. i can use only twrp

Connect to adb while booted into TWRP and type the command:
adb reboot bootloader
That "should" boot into fastboot
For future reference, when flashing TWRP via fastboot, immediately after you flash the TWRP.img, enter the command:
adb reboot recovery
That should boot straight into TWRP and keep TWRP. If you let the device boot into any other mode than recovery, it will revert back to stock recovery, you have to boot directly into TWRP immediately after flashing it in order to keep TWRP.
