[Q] Boot loop on HTC Inspire 4G (desire hd) - General Questions and Answers

Hello all,
So I decided to try installing cyanogenmod and used the cyanogenmod provided ace image file to flash my recovery. This was after following all instructions to unlock the phone as per the htcdev instructions and have fastboot on, but I am not s-off. That was my first step, and I think my first mistake, as I have no idea what I'm doing, apparently. I then attempted to boot into recovery and found it failed, but I could still boot normally. Then I tried to flash the bootloader image to the boot, and now I can't boot into anything whatsoever. I've tried using the stock image that htc provides for the device on their webpage (it's an ATT phone, so none of the RUU files). I tried following HTC's instructions to flash the device, including re-locking my phone (it now shows as "relocked").
So, I think I'm in quite the mess and would sincerely appreciate some help. As of yet, I have not been able to locate any backup recovery images to try using, nor have I managed to get cyanogenmod to boot.

And before I get reamed, I searched and read about 8 different threads on this subject before posting one of my own.

[Q] How do I get my HTC rhyme to restore to original

I can access recovery, Hboot and flashboot, but no luck getting the phone to boot up past the splash screen, it think it, its the white screen with HTC logo on it
Have you tried a factory reset from recovery, then flashing a custom ROM?

I have tried factory reset from hboot, my cwm recovery, and i cant find a custom rom. I have extracted the rom.zip from my original ruu found on htcdev. I put it on sd card and tried flashing thru recovery and thru hboot. I try doing fastboot, with the system.img and it actually crashes my pc, and when loading thru hboot, i get stuck at parsing .zip
I think you need to ask people who are more familiar with HTC devices. Type "htc rhyme" in the search bar at the top right of this page.

I did, believe me, I have spent hours and days googling, and every similar situation ppl have, the soution doesnt work for everybody, lol, and I just happen to be one of them. My rhyme is an upgraded OTA, from the original stock rom which is an ruu: RUU_Bliss_C_VERIZON_WWE_1.26.605.6_Radio_1.15.00.0816_NV_VZW2.67_release_214911_signed, and when i try running the ruu installer it says; From:image version 2.0.0.134076
To: 1.26.605.6, After 16% PROGRESS, ERROR [155]: UNKNOWN ERROR, The ROM upadate uti;ty couldn't update, please find correct RUU and update again. I dont know what else to do, ive been researching for a while and so now im in the XDA forums asking for help, before i was just searching for anything related to this problem with HTC rhyme, and not much about the rhyme it self is out there for support in these situations, so ive been researching the issue with all htc devices, and even android in general. I'll admit i am a noob at androids, but im actually pretty familiar with OS's and computers period. All help is much appreciated too, so thank you and if you know something i dont, please feel free to let me know where I am screwing up. I can get My CWM on it, and actually before all this, i had CWM touch recovery, somehow i lost it too and had to put the one i have now on it. i also parsed thru hboot my boot.img, and recovery before, , and it said it was successful. when doing system.img thru the PI46img.zip with boot and recovery, it freezes on parsing, and if i fastboot the system.img, it causes my computer to freeze, and i got the system.img from the rom.zip out of this RUU, that i mentioned above. ive done all the wiping from recovery of partitions that ppl had mentioned, and still no luck, and also when trying to flash it thru CWm it always says installation aborted. tahnk s for responding too man, ive noticed most questions with The HTC RHyme, get the shaft....and thats why i feel like im at a deadend, and i dont know if there is some number out there for support in theses situations, because HTC wont help after the bootloader has been unlocked, and it would seem a lil easier having someone walk you through it on either a live chat or over the phone

Please help. The phone is switching on everything is working. I just can't factory reset or go to the recovery.

[Q] Bricked after trying to flash CM10

Hi Guys,
So I unlocked my phone's bootloader, flashed ClockworkMod Touch Recovery and then tried to flash CM10.... something went wrong and now my phone is stuck on the HTC Logo with the red text that says "This build is for development purposes only......".
I have tried just about everything I have read about, and I am still just as screwed. Have I permanently bricked my phone?
Thanks for your help.
First for the One XL it is suggested you use TWRP and not CWM
You can get it here from their website .
It tells you how to fastboot flash it.
If you did an OTA to 2.20 or your device came with 2.20 you probably need to flash the boot.img /kernel
So in your CM10 zip, extract the boot image.
and use fastboot to flash the boot img with the command
fastboot flash boot boot.img
and that should help you out.
I also suggest reflashing the rom with TWRP just in case. Hope this helps.
Can adb see the phone?

This is the one xl correct, not the international on x?
If you can get anything on your screen, your phone isn't hard-bricked.
First, which phone do you have? ClockworkMod Touch Recovery does not work on the AT&T One X (One XL). If you tried flashing a ROM through it, it's not going to work and it's probably not booting up because the ROM is corrupted.
I would start with flashing a new recovery in adb. Use TWRP, because even the basic CWM is not supported for this phone and can cause issues.
Can you get into recovery? If so is the SD card mountable?
First time I flashed i had a similar issue where the SD couldn't mount. I ended up having to run the factory RUU after relocking the bootloader & then start again. I waited for a later nightly to come out. Also seems to go better if you flash a different rom first like viper.

Doesn't matter. He flashed the wrong recovery (not for our phone). There is not Touch CWM for our version.
i should really refresh pages before replying

Problem with boot reloop solved

I ran into some trouble trying to install a new ROM, and now have a hard time getting things up and running again.
Just figured I'd share a solution that took me an hour or 2 to figure out.
The Problem
The system didn't boot up any more. At some points I got stuck in a boot reloop, at others in the HTC screen (for development use only)
The Basic Facts
S4
Unlocked
Hboot 1.06.0000
Radio 1.06es.50.02.31
I could always boot into bootloader and into recovery (TWRP 2.3.3.0 - although that one always asks for a password, but when I click on Cancel, it does seem to work
The Things I Tried
I tried to install a ROM by first pushing it with quick adb pusher to the sd-card that was mounted in twrp, I then tried to install that zip file but got all sorts of 'mount' errors
I then tried to fash a stock RUU (I found RUU_Ville_U_ICS_40_S_TMOUS_2.35.531.7_Radio_1.08ts.50.02.16_10.08e.50.04L_release_279577_signed.exe), I relocked the phone with the one-in-all toolbox (which worked just fine), the phone went into bootloader, a White HTC sign appeared on the screen, it sent the file, then did 'updating signatures', but ended up with ERROR [130]: model ID error. I take it that is because it found a different Radio from the one expected
I then tried to flash the 'right' radio for the RUU I found (radio-1.08ts.50.02.16) by doing fastboot boot radio.img, but that gave the following error: "reproduce boot image with on-flash ramdisk error"
The Solution
I finally managed to install the ROM through the all-in-one toolbox. I selected under the 'ADB Sideload a ROM' option under 'Extras', the went into 'adb sideload' in twrp advanced and selected a rom I had downloaded (in my case ViperOneS). It started sending it properly (sending:'sideload' x%), it then showed the Team Venom logo and opened the aroma installer. I selected full install with a full wipe (to be on the safe side), and aroma then did its thing until it said "new ROM flashed successfully". I then rebooted and had to wait a few minutes for the first boot (as it had warned me), but I'm fully back up and running again! So If any of you experience a similar problem, you may want to try this out (and avoid the other things I tried.
Thanks for posting a solution. But I do want to point out that this is the development forum. As such, your post doesn't belong here. The General or Q&A forums are the correct ones.
Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk 2
Thanks Thanks Thanks !!!
I've been stuck on boot with every rom's that i've been trying to install!
I was becoming very concern about the problem !
I went from CM10 to the new Viper 2.0 but having troubles with WIFI I start testing others roms and than I become stuck!
Since I've TRW 2.3 and tool kit in my pc I give a shoot at your tutorial and it WORKS.
Thanks again,
Rui

IT WAS THE FINAL STEP... and it did not work. (Stuck on boot loader warning screen)

FINAL EDIT: FIXED!!! Sparsechunk files 1,2and 3 have to match the exact name with the firmware folder sparsechunk files.
I did not notice that my firmware sparsechunk files ended in .0 .1 .2 and not 1 2 3 like the tutorial had listed, so I was fastbooting the wrong sparsechunk command. That was the final fix that finally worked for me.
Original post:
SHORT VERSION:
My god this has been one crazy root journey.
I have done absolutely EVERYTHING I could pull up on google to fix my phone, and what seemed to be the final piece to the puzzle, still has not fixed anything.
My phone is bricked, and i would really appreciate help at this point.
The current problem:
When I turn on my phone, it vibrates, and displays the WARNING BOOT LOADER UNLOCKED screen, and stays there forever.
I can access my boot loader, and recovery, but I dont know what to do at this point.
I tried a quick flash stock recovery kit kat with moto tool AIO, and it didnt help.
Any ideas?
LONG VERSION (backround info may help to understand the current issue)
Now, if you want to know what began all of this, continue reading, otherwise the above is my current issue.
After successfully unlocking and rooting my phone
I downloaded SWITCHME, an app that lets you create multible users on the phone. the instructions say that you can use a sub account to test and mess around with anything because you can simply go back to the admin account that has everything untouched.
That was a lie.
1.I deleted .setup, along with a few other things THAT WHERE NOT FLAGGED AS IMPORTANT, assuming the phone would still work. and my phone went bonkers, displaying this infinite message: UNFORTUNATELY, SETUP HAS STOPPED. It was impossible to use the phone, and I could only access bootloader.
2.After endless googling, driver downloading, xda mod installing, I managed to set up my boot loader to do the guide restore stock firmware:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219
Sadly, I flashed the wrong model number package, I was flashing x35, when I later discovered that my phone is x45.
Flashing the x35 firmware bricked my phone further, to where it would "fail to boot up" and would only display bootloader over and over after attempting to turn the phone on.
3. Simple, I realized I flashed the wrong thing, so I downloaded the x45 firmware from the firmware teem on this website, flashed all of the commands, and bam, the phone starts up with the boot loader warning, and DOES NOT get stuck in the previous boot loader issue I had.
But now the phone wont get past that warning screen so... now im pissed.
Please, if anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it, Im so close to getting my phone back...
EDIT 2: Looks like the phone wont stay shut down, I realized that if I dont open up boot loader, it will turn itself on and display the warning message.
EDIT:
The stuffs I have, ready to try anything:
CWM touch mod
Moto Tool AIO
Minimal ADB and Fast boot
RETUS x1045 factory firmware
All directories, folders, cmd commands are set up and working properly between all of the programs.
The phone appears to be responding to all cmd commands properly.
I also have the windows one touch super boot root method. (he superboot-windows.bat )
Im afraid to try anything major after freshly flashing the x45 firmware that seemed to bring me one step closer without the help of someone else.
I restored stock to my phone using this link yesturday http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/how-restore-motorola-moto-g-stock-firmware-1447290
it may work for you
I have almost the same problem as if the fastboot not install anything despite not display errors
great that you got it done.
maybe my few cents about my "bricking" story. (xt1032 moto g)
yesterday i wanted to change the rom from cm11 nightly to another custom rom like ehndroix/carbonrom...
first i thought that will be done in a few mins, after having already flashed a custom rom.
then the story began, getting adb work, but, 2weeks ago everything was setup and went fine. dunno why my laptop lost the "drivers".
thats the link which solved that problem: tinyurl . com / kgffjh4 [sorry cant post links outside of xda yet, spam protection]
so after a few hours of getting that fixed i, i began flashing.
suddently i got stuck in bootscreen (ehndroix logo for example)...
then i wanted to go back with my previous backup made internaly of clockworkmod. though i couldnt restore my backup because there was an error message while restoring /data of my backup
also when restoring to factory/wipe in cwm there was that error message about clouldnt "touch" /data, i dont remember the message exactly.
after thinking i bricked everything, i though lets wipe my internal sdcard, maybe that causes the /data error.
then i restarted the device and went for a shower... after 15min i came back and my device was "started".
now i dont know that exactly helped, maybe wiping all data on my phone, or just letting my device boot for a "long" time...
so, thats my yesterdays brick story.
do a factory reset if the bootloader has that option.. otherwise install or run/boot a custom revovery, then either
try the factory reset option there and reboot or..
wipe everything and install a rom
Ok try this, I'm was a victim too:
Relock and unlock bootloader
Download and flash latest Philz
From there format everything...EVERY PARTITION...switch F2FS
After switching wipe every partition again
Select and execute the other 3 wiping option ie., Clean to install new ROM and the other 2 (I can't remember now)
Do this all over again via TWRP too
Now, this is important, don't use the mfastboot for restoring stock...use the one provided by Google for its Android SDK
Flash the stock images
Flash the Moto Razr boot animation and not the one for Moto G to remove the warning sign
I'm 99.99% sure your phone will boot properly
After the phone boots, reflash the Moto G bootanimation
Good Luck!

You're still in stock recovery.
Use fastboot flash recovery xyz.zip to flash philz recovery
Use this when you're in bootloader mode.

Bricked BLN-L24 - Reaching out for help since I have tried everything I could find

Hello -
I tried installing LineageOS using this guide:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-6x/development/rom-lineageos-14-1-honor-6x-t3713906
Since I am relatively new to this, I was having some confusion using ADB so I used various tutorials I found on other websites that involved using tools like SDK tools and Huawei tools to flash image on to the phone. I unlocked to bootloader, enabled USB debugging etc. Anyway, ultimately I installed LineageOS along with GAPPS and SU using TWRP. I cleared cache every time and the first time I booted the phone after flashing it was stuck at the LineageOs boot screen. Being the impulsive person I am - I tried flashing recovery images on the phone like from various tutorials and at this point I lost track on how many times I`ve written images like recovery images and boot images etc.
All in all - I am now only able to get to fastboot.
Is there a way for me to completely just wipe everything of the phone like all images every change and then recover to stock? This is because I think I`ve unsuccessfully written so many images on here that it`s harder to get the phone to a working state.
Edit:
Found the guide I used like 90% of this from Unlocking bootloader to flashing images
https://www.reddit.com/r/Huawei/comments/50ooh5/unlocking_bootloader_rooting_and_flashing_custom/
TWRP opened fine the first time like I said but upon realizing I had done something wrong I was not able to get back to TWRP and that`s when sh*t hit the fan.
Edit2:
Tried flashing TWRP using fastboot and when I reboot device it goes into either EMIUI, Fastboot, or it gets stuck in "Your device is booting now" depending on the button combo but never TWRP
