[Q] Adding never to the back light time out QS tile - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I'm using jam looper on my nexus 5 to learn guitar songs, I'm finding the back light time out frustrating and was wondering if there was a toggle for it.
I'm running cm11. And have tried gravity box via xposed, but those settings dont seem compatible.
I'm wondering if there is a way to directly add never to the back light time out tile, it only seems to go up to 5 mins.
Thanks for any help!

Customize toggles in notification bar

Hello,
I write this post because I need some information for the personalization of my nexus5 (kitkat stock rom).
I would like to customize the toggles accessible from the notifications bar.
I need to have:
-A button that allows me to enable or disable the data network (currently enters clicking in the statistics and from there I have to click the button on / off)
-A button that allows me to make 2g/3g/4g switch (sometime if i need only use whatsapp i use edge for saving battery)
Have you any suggestions?
I know someone will chase the rabbit of the hat!
Thank you,
xSliv3r
HI
Please try
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.j4velin.notificationToggle
I use Power Toggles:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.painless.pc
It works very well and you can create toggles for your Notification area or as Widgets for you homescreen.
Hi,
thanks for your answers!
I've tried this app but there isn't possibility to add nothing in quick toggles area...
With this app, minewhile, i've added the toggles in notification area...
Have you ideas?
Thanks,

I have root but don't think this is available unless you flash a custom ROM, I'm just praying for AKOP to release something...

Has anyone with Root access tried GravityBox Xposed app yet? That should do the trick but I don't know if they updated to 4.4 support yet.
the xposed framework doesn't work on 4.4 yet, sadly. The developer just ordered an N5, and is already looking at the issues, so hopefully we'll have an update soon.
you've already got a data toggle, press and hold the centre button which has the signal icon on it. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth work exactly the same way, quick press into settings, long press toggle. Arse about face compared to others but it works.
I couldnt install either of those apps..kept getting error 920...awesome.
Had the phone in my hand for an hour and debating sending it back for a few reasons.i dont know why google wouldnt implement quick panel..its a basic must have for many

Im just waiting for the up to date Cyanogenmod build to be developed and released which will have fully customizable expanded quick setting tiles as standard. Its what I usually do with all my Nexus devices.

I have used the various 23 Toggle mods, battery mods etc that are available for the Note 2, S3 etc. Looking forward to these being available for the N5... but development takes time.
coming from CM on my old LG P990, this is the only thing that I'm missing ; customizable quick setting tiles.
I use old good Widgetsoid. Very customizable.

GravityBox
I'm using GravityBox and works very well. I recommend you to try it. It needs root acces.
I'm using Quicker Free
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bwx.bequick2
It is similar to the QuickPanel in appearance but allows you to add and remove the settings you like. Also allows you to make more than one screen of settings.
Actually just tried out Power Toggles and like it better than Quicker Free
Just use Cataclysm rom. It's pretty much stock rom with a few added options like this

I use extended settings haven't tried any of the other options really but it does what i need it to do and i think it meets your needs and its also free but there is a paid version with some extra features

Quick Access Ribbon alternative

I've got a stock rooted and unlocked Nexus 5 but my prior phones (Evo OG and EvoLTE) always ran CM. I've managed to reproduce most of the things I miss from CM via Xposed modules such as battery percentage, sliding brightness adjustment on the notification shade, and some other odds and ends.
The one thing I cannot replace is the Quick Access Ribbon. I was using power toggles from the market, but it just runs as a persistent app and moves down from the top which is annoying.
Is there any way to get the Quick Access Ribbon or the same functionality in my stock rom since I don't really want to move to CM at this point?
I did try to Google solutions, but couldn't really come up with anything.
I second this.

Notification bar quick toggles lag since cast screen button

Hi,
Ever since the button for cast screen became visible (sometimes) months ago, I notice a significant lag when accessing the quick toggles from the notification bar.
It hangs half way, a full second delay, and then fully deploys.
This happens when pulling down with double gesture directly into quick toggles as well as going into notifications and then switching to quick toggles.
Since the feature was finally been activated this week, it's ever present.
More people having this problem?

Ditto on Nexus 4. I'm on PA 4.42
Same exact issue im having. Asked about it in another thread, and didnt get anywhere sadly....
Had same problem. I'm on stock with Xposed and GravityBox. New GravityBox update has a new QuickSettings tile for remote display, that when checked, eliminates the lag for me.
Thanks for your replies. Glad to see it's not just me.
Let's hope Google reads XDA

[Q] Tasker: How to enable nav bar only when phone rotated 180°?

My phone has both capacitive buttons and a navigation bar. (You can choose between the two using a system setting.) I would like to set up an automatic way to have the buttons turned off (and nav bar enabled) when the phone is held upside down (screen rotated 180°). Then, have the nav bar disabled and buttons turned back on whenever the phone is rotated to any other angle (0°, 90°, 270°).
I'm thinking the app, "Tasker" would be perfect for this, but I haven't been able to figure out a way to set it up. I would be open to other possible ways of achieving the same result.
My device is a "OnePlus One" running Cyanogenmod 11 (so, rooted Kit Kat).
Bumping for great justice
Any luck yet??

Hey!! Any luck yet?? Are you able to figure out how it can be done?? Good thought though.. I am also searching for the same..:good:
There is a GravityBox intent that you can call in Tasker to enable the navbar, but I can't remember what it is for the life of me. The developer, C3C076, could tell you what it is though,
I'm looking into this as well... this would be great!

[Q] Immersive mode making me go nuts !

Hi,
I'm using AOKP in my Nexus 5 since last year, very happy with the phone / rom, without no issues at all.
I don't know what happened today, but after Google Play made some updates, now my navbar and statusbar does not stay fixed in the screen anymore, i have to swipe the bottom of screen to make the bars go back, but the bars stay in the screen for some seconds and hide again.
After some research i found out it's the Kitkat 'immersive mode'. It's strange because i've updated to KikKat months ago, and only now the immersive mode shows up.
I tried to get used with it, but the problem is in some apps, when i'm using the keyboard the immersive mode take over and the keyboard disappears ! It's happening on Google Play for instance : when i try to search, the keyboard stays on the screen for about 2 seconds and then the immersive mode takes over and hides the keyboard.
Is there a way to DISABLE this f*** immersive mode and go back just as it always be : navbar and statusbar FIXED in the screen ?
Thanks in advance !
