Installing Incompatiable Apps from Play Store - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am trying to install Yahoo News Digest on my OPO that is running on BlissPop ROM.
When I go to Play Store to install the app, it says the app is not compatible for my device. Why is this happening? How do I install this app?

[Q] How to install the "Play Store App" on CM9

Hi,
I just got CyanogenMod 9 running on my Galaxy S Plus (i9001).
But there is no Play-Sore app on the screen ....
Thanks .....
You have to flash Gapps...its in the CM9 threads. Gapps are all of your google applications. CM can't include them in the ROM due to licensing issues.

Where you able to sign into your Google account? If you did and still no good then try searching Google and manually pushing the apk with root explorer or a similar app

Did you download the version of GAPPS made for ICS? (should have -ICS somewhere in the filename)
The gapps site lists dozens of versions, for various phones and roms.

Google play is not included in Android 4 / CM 9.
To install Google play, you need to download the google play apk from http://www.theandroidsoul.com/download-google-play-apk-3-5-19/
Scenario 1: file managers is already installed.
Then transfer the apk to SD card and use the file manager to install google play apk.
Scenario 2: There is no file manager.
Install Android SDK or the ADB driver.

[Q] Google+ won't install on CyanogenMod 10.0

I was having issues with 4.3 so I flashed the stable CyanogenMod 10.0, and all seems well except for one thing - Google+. When I look for it in the Play Store, it says that my device isn't compatible. I tried sideloading the APK and it installs for a while but then just says "App not installed" with no error code. According to the Play Store web version, it is installed on my Xoom. Anyone run into this? Thanks!

How to bypass Play Store compatibility?

Hi, for some apps in the Play Store I try to download with my Note 10.1 (using an Omnirom ROM), the Play Store says "your device is not compatible" with the given app. But when I download the app apk elsewhere it installs and runs with no problem.
Is there something I can do to bypass the Play Store compatibility issue? My device is rooted if that helps.

[Q] Not installing gapps?

Is it possible to avoid installing gapps at all but still be able to install apss from google play website?
After installing CM11 used the browser to install from google play website. I click the install button and I get the message ".... will be installed on your device soon". When I go to Google Play, it shows the app has been installed but it does not show up on the phone anywhere??!!!!

The google play website install button relies on your phone having the Google Play app in addition to having Google Play Services installed.
There are a few alternative app stores available for Android, but they won't have near the amount of apps available for them as Google Play does.
There was a website I read about that would allow you to download APKs from free apps on the Google Play store using your browser which you then could install manually on your devices, but I don't know the specifics. I do remember that paid apps weren't available to download using that site since Google verifies you own the app before allowing you to download it.
While the minimalist GApps that @BaNkS produced are no longer being maintained, the Paranoid Android folks are kindly filling the gaps with their Pico Modular GApps package. It is pretty well stripped down to the minimal that you need for Google services.
Big thanks to @TKruzze for providing these packages!

Unistall feature not showing in the Play store after root.

Just curious, I rooted my Note 10.1 a month ago, have not installed any Roms as of yet, When I go to the the Play store, I don't get the uninstall option on any of my install apps, I only get the open feature. I can still uninstall using a 3rd party app, or the OS system, but just curious why this is
Its not normal and never happened to me .
No one has had this issue, would installing an updated version of the Play store help, even though I don't have a new Rom installed, what is the latest Play APK ??
I did install the latest version APK 6.4.13 and still have the same issue, is it something with the process of which how I rooted my device ?? Please advise, I surely can't be the only that has had this issue before ??
