[Q] Build history of Droid Razr Maxx (XT926). - RAZR HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys I wanted to buy XT926 but i am confused because I don`t know at which build I`ll be able to grab root access and unlock the bootloader as well.
One thing I know is that after the latest update on 9-9-14 build .15 I won't be able to either root or unlock the bootloader therefore Kindly any one provide me with the detail of the builds on XT926 and detail on which builds the root access would be grabbable and also bootloader will be unlockable.

[Q] What do people with locked bootloaders do these days?

Hey guys, I have an Atrix HD with an unlocked bootloader but Im trying to help out my friend who has a RAZR HD...I hadnt realized that Moto released an OTA that patched the bootloader exploit. It seems to me that new RAZR HD users are back to Safestrap, but are there any good rom built for safestrap? I was at least able to get him rooted with the newer version of Motochopper.
So what are all the people with locked bootloaders doing nowadays?

You can try Nexesque and Batakang. Probably some others, as long as they don't flash a non-stock kernel. Your friend's options are a bit limited, but it's definitely better than nothing.

you need to have an unlocked bootloader and custom recovery.
if you did not already unlock the bootloader, check your system version, if it says 9.18.79 or 9.20.1 your out of luck for unlocking which means you cant flash most of the roms found here.

[Q] update?

I had a droid RAZR maxx HD with PAC ROM on it and was in love, and with this phones hardware and the updates to PAC I feel like it would be a thing of dreams, but I would need unlocked boot loader and so I am wary on taking updates as I am worried an exploit will come out for the old version after I upgrade, even though they aren't posting any security patches that doesn't mean they aren't changing it a little. Anyways I am just looking for other peoples opinion on whether I should go through work to unroot update then reroot and hope for an exploit.

He said he HAD a razr he doesn't anymore. I wouldn't be concerned about taking updates the boot loader is probably never getting unlocked. But if it did right now the moto x can downgrade to 4.2.2 from 4.4 so I guess we would be able to as well.
So I would just have to fxz back if an exploit comes out?

I'm not sure it is that simple I haven't really looked into it but I know it can be done on the moto x it is actually part of the root process at this point for the moto x.

[Q] Install Moto Razr M (XT907) rom on XT905

I recently rooted my Motorola Razr M XT905 phone. I have not yet unlocked the bootloader as I have not had a reason yet. I cannot seem to find ANY roms any where for my phone (Aussie version). All the roms are for the US variant XT907. I was wondering if anyone knew of any site that I could get roms for my phone. OR if anyone has install a xt907 rom on the xt905 and had no problems.
Thanks!

Droid Razr Maxx HD - Root and Unlocking?

Ok, so I've been looking around but I can't find a definitive answer.
If I have a Razr Maxx HD with 4.2.2, can I root it AND unlock its bootloader?

You can't possibly have 4.2.2 without doing both of those in the first place. The phone only officially has 4.1.2, with 4.4 incoming officially from Motorola.
Rooting can always be done, unlocking cannot. Go to Settings > About Phone > System Version. If the number begins with 9.16, congratulations - you may unlock your bootloader! If it is any higher, unlocking is not possible due to where this phone is on the totem pole. Unlocking your bootloader is the only way to get any version of Android passed what the phone officially has - 4.1.2 as I mentioned.
