[Q] Face unlock disabled on T-Mobile Kitkat HTC One M8 - Android General

So I received the Kitkat push to my HTC M8 and now facial reccognition is disabled! The first two Lock Screen options are greyed out - with the message "Disabled by administrator, encryption policy, or credential storage" below the Lock Screen and No lock Screen menu options. (Pattern, PIN and Password options do work.)
After spending 45 minutes with the T-Mobile tech he tells me this option is not available. Does anyone know how to re-enable this option?

Why ???
My phone is M8 t-mobile too - why disable My facelock and no lock after update ???

Bypass lock screen 5.0 OTA update

Hi all, one new annoying feature that VZW added to the 5.0 update was removing "Bypass lock screen on wake" from the security settings. Now when I check the security settings I see the option greyed out (screenshot below). Anyone know a way around this? The two-step unlocking is really annoying.
screenshot missing. What are the two steps? Turn on, unlock? Personally I want the lock since my phone has so much personal data on it.
If you need bypass for calling, there is that option in the swipe down motion gesture settings.

Disable Unlock VIA Google ??

HI guys
I've just encrypted my S5 and enabled the fingerprint lock.
If i use the wrong finger to unlock it 5 times it pops up with an option to “UNLOCK VIA GOOGLE”.
Is there a way to disable this option and just have a option to unlock it with the backup password?
I take it from the lack of replies that this can't be done

Can't disable lock screen

So lately I've been experiencing this issue- I can't disable the pin code I have in my phone's lock screen. The options None and Swipe are greyed out saying Disabled by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage (see attached screenshot below). I have disabled any administrators there were in my phone and I have cleared credentials multiple times but no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

Gear S3 with Galaxy S8's interactive notifications don't work

I have some applications that have some interactive notifications, one such app is a multifactor authentication app that you can approve via the Galaxy or the Gear. The issue that the phone cannot have any sort of unlock at all, aside from a black screen. Even the slide to unlock blocks the Gear from being able to interact with the notification. I simply get a "View on your phone..." prompt. Disabling every single form of security on my lock screen is the only way I've found to remove the "Swipe to Unlock." Enable just one feature, Pattern, PIN whatever and it reenables the Swipe to Unlock. Enabling "Smart Lock" on the phone will successfully disable the security features when the phone connects to my watch, such as PIN and Pattern, but it will not disable the Swipe to Unlock. Thus making me use my phone to interact with the notification. Am I missing something?

Screen security (silly?) question

Hi,
i'm on OOS 5.1.6 with unlocked bootlader, official TWRP, and root via Magisk, also got xposed and a few modules (greenify being one of them).
Now the noob silly part: how comes that even if i set fingerprint security for lockscreen (with PIN security behind), if i turn off the screen via power button, and then wake it up (after more than 5secs!) with button again, i am presented with a lockscreen with no security and i can simply swipe up the lock icon and enter the phone?
I'm for sure missing something really obvious here, OR one of my modules (GB, Greenify) might interfere with the security?
Just to be clear: fingerprint unlocking WORKS flawlessly, but if i use the button it just shows the small lock icon that i can simply swipe-up.
Thanks!
Maybe you have enabled face unlock?
Do you have smart lock on? Trusted place or similar, smart watch etc. If one of those are on, it will let you unlock just with a swipe.
And the default time for this lock is 5 sec, see the settings icon right of display lock in settings - security
Thanks guys, i had for some reason Smart Lock enabled, and specifically trusted places (Home) taken from Google Maps. I could not disable it (well i could, but it reverted back as active) until i found under 'Trust Agents' Smart Lock (Google) and disabled it.
Weird.
