Hi my name is Josh. I bought a Dragon Touch K7 tablet on amazon for reading ebooks and watching movies . I really like it but, I need to be able to manage storage, preinstalled apps and ads. It has mobogenie factory installed on it. I have tried multiple one click rooting methods like(towelroot, framaroot, windows mobogenie one click root tool, and many others) I really don't want to brick my tablet. everything that I have tried has failed. Please help me out. thanks

for TPSparkyroot, I googled it and I couldn't find an official source so I downloaded it from somebody's google drive but I couldn't get it to do anything except install a root file explorer.

well I executed the .bat file while my device was connected and it had some type of problem /error. also my tablet never reboots.
with the other versions or files that I downloaded it would say error device not found.
when I connect my tablet to my computer, I have to tap enable sd storage in order to mount my tablet sd cards as removable media.

I found some more usb options after reading this article: http://www.random-host.com/blogs/enable-media-device-mtp-usb-mode-android-44-kitkat-and-50-lollipop
so my device has three usb options
1: media device (MTP)
2: Camera (PTP)
3: Mass Storage
I tried the TPSparkyRoot .bat file with all three and it always say error device not found or something like that.
Hmm, I will see if I can find someone that can jump in and help.

yes I did try a different USB port. when I do plug it into the port, it does this action for the first two options, it installs one driver called K7 and searches windows update and fails for another with the same name.
I hope that makes sense to you
Since I can not link anything outside of xda, try to Google mobo and vroot or Google "dragon touch k7 root" there are a couple different pages/links to look at. I haven't been able to find anything else that is helpful in xda

Thanks for trying to help and for answering. :good:
Hello again!
To fully allow USB Debugging and other functions that allow Android OS to work better with other "external" apps it is always best to do the following:
Go to Settings
Programming Options
Choose USB Debugging and also Keep Active
Go back a screen
Scoll to Security
Choose Unknown Sources
That's pretty much it mate when you have to connect your Droid to your PC to interact with another app or when you have to flash a ROM or a Kernel, etc.
Sure you already know this but to start an application with Administrator rights, you must right click on the icon and then a list will show up where you'll choose "Start as Administrator"...you'll get a prompt...click yes...and Bob is your uncle mate!
Let me know if it worked for you.
Oh and don't forget to click on THANKS.

Last year (before 4.1.2) I was able to root using the motofail exploits, but now I can't get past Step #5 with them.
Now specifying Auto exploits I can at least get to Step #7, but that's where it hangs/loops.
Is there a new motofail exploit file for 4.1.2 or can someone give me a push in the right direction?

As @aooga said, make sure you use a USB 2.0 port. If that doesn't fix it, try another USB cable.

Wasn't using toolkits, was following CF auto root method as described on various sources including youtube videos.
Could it be just as simple as using a USB 2.0 port? Seems trivial.

We consider it a toolkit because it does things (a couple of them) for you. Now you run into issues and don't know what failed because it was doing hidden tasks.
The manual method besides doing the job, will teach you a thing or 2 or 3, plus will help you to troubleshoot simple things.

If you only unlock the BL/root the phone and don`t uninstall/replace system components you will still be able to receive and install OTA`s with the stock recovery. You`ll have to reroot afterwards though, but that only takes a minute.
