Google Now + Trebuchet after upgrade to 05Q - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After upgrade to 05Q, everytime in Trebuchet I slide left to reach Google Now, I now have open both the keyboard at the bottom and the recent searches at the top: see attached screenshots, how it was before upgrade and how it is after upgrade.

Looks like you are already getting help here.

Go Laucher EX Bug (Regression)

I've been using Go Launcher EX for quite a while now. I have a Droid X rooted on stock 2.3.
I have my app drawer scrolling set to vertical continuous.
For a long time, when I went into the app drawer, it opened at the spot I was last at.
A few versions ago, they broke that functionality and it always started me back at the top. I emailed them and posted on forum and the next version fixed it.
Then, 2 versions ago, it broke again. I've emailed them and posted, but haven't heard anything. Today, there was an update and still not fixed.
Can anyone confirm this bug exists on their setup? Any way to get them to fix? They've generally been responsive to fixing bugs reported. I don't recall them ever emailing me back, but they have fixed things I've emailed them about.
Also, one other note. If the app drawer is set to horizontal scrolling, it does take you to the spot you left off when you go back in, so the bug is only with vertical scrolling.
Please use the search before posting and post in pre existing threads..

[Q] AT&T One X Apps (screen Utilization // menu bar)

Hi guyz
Is is just me or does anyone else also feel that the majority of the apps take up screen estate with the lone lingering menu button at the bottom
I wanted to move away from sense launcher and thought of adopting the Go Lancher, but for this the home screen itself shows the menu bar below (ugghh!).
Thankfully apex/nova came to the rescue.
But many other appls like XDA, reddit ... show that wasting part of the screen.
So do we have to wait till developers update their apps for OneX? (i thought since galaxy nexus already is a 4.6 " screen this issue was already behind us)

It's an ICS menu button issue. There's a great post on the Verge discussing it as well. http://www.theverge.com/2012/5/6/3003345/the-menu-button-an-insight
Because the HOX didn't use a menu button on the bottom of the phone (good) it does this instead (bad)
I'd personally like to see the menu key functionality replaced by a long press of home/recent apps. That way you can just bring it up when you need it, like older Android phones.
Should see something like this once we get that BL issue resolved.

Or if developers followed the development guide the problem wouldn't exist at all since the overflow menu would be located on the top bar.
edit:
As per the Verge post linked earlier:
The menu button. It's a button, that won't, just won't, go away. Google have already attempted to kill it by introducing the action overflow in Ice Cream Sandwich. They've removed it from the default roster of buttons on the Galaxy Nexus, and with good reason. But it refuses to die.
This mainly because app developers are not reading the guidelines and saying "Let's follow these." They're keeping with the archaic menu button. Worse still, the apps are not Holo themed, and in many cases, still made for Gingerbread. Take Google Currents. While a very nice app, it still has menu button support and is made for Gingerbread. This is an app BY GOOGLE, and it still has menu button support. This needs to - must - change.

[Q] Is it a bug... or?

I just noticed a bug on my phone. I will explain with a screenshot. As you can see in the screen shot, i was pushing juice defender in to the left screen edge, and it did not make a new menu. You can see there is no + on the left side while at the right side there is one. Anyone got any ideas? Also i recently rooted my phone. Before root i didn't have this problem because i remember i was trying to see how many can i add. I did not backup. Followed a tutorial here on forum.
Also if anyone has resolved this problem please explain how.

(Cant yet post outside links, still works you just have to copy paste to url)
Pretty sure you can only add new screens to the right. If you've been able to move items to the left in the past, my guess is you've been moving them from page 2 to page 1, not from page 1 to the left because that isn't possible. Which launcher are you using? Root has nothing to do with it.

I am 100% sure i was able to make new pages to the left, i think its trebuchet. Its realy annoying though..
This is intentional. This was based on Google's new kitkat launcher. If you don't like it use a different launcher. I doubt we'll see the old AOSP launcher style as default in cm.
That's what I thought.

[Q] Setting up fresh install

Hello, I'll try to keep it short.
I have a nexus 5 since mid-august and the first thing I did was install CM11 using the installer.
There was a guy that helped me set it up back then, and I have no way of contacting him now. This is where you come in
I know I had the nova launcher installed but I also had the google now screen (when you swipe to the right). Also you could bring down the notification panel by swiping down in the middle of the screen.
Do any of you know how I can get the same functionality back? I've been searching the past hour but there doesn't seem to be a way to add the google now cards to the nova launcher even though I'm pretty sure that's what I had before I installed the new ROM.
Chances are you had either https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.launcher&hl=en or or Cyanogenmods CM Home launcher instead. I think both of those support what you're asking about.
Google now, no idea about but ye Nova has a gestures menu where you can set gestures to actions.
Nope, I had the nova launcher for sure, and now if I think about it I may have only had the google cards (some sort of widget), not the entire google now "page" .
Edit: Nevemind .. I just found the google now widget in the widget menu.

Recent Google Update

EDIT: Sorry, didn't realize what section I was in. Can a mod move this to the Nexus 5 Q&A section? Thanks!
EDIT 2: Next time I'll use the search feature, as I see someone else posted asking and the answer is it cannot be changed.
So the other night I went through my nightly ritual of opening the Play Store and checking for app updates. There were a few, so I just went and said to update them all.
The next morning I went to open an app and saw the app drawer now is one big scroll page instead of swiping left and right to change app drawer pages.
I don't like this. Is there a way to change how the app drawer functions? I looked around but didn't see anything.
Running stock rooted 5.1.1 (LMY48M).
