[App] [5.0+] CM12.1 Gallery Apk (1.1 update!) - Android Apps and Games

Cyanogenmod 12.1 / AOSP Gallery app for any Lollipop device!
This is the CyanogenMod 12.1 Gallery2.apk with Material Design compiled directly from CM sources.
Installation:
Just download and install the apk.
Compatibility:
Compatible with all ROMs Android 5.0+. (tested on Xperia Z Ultra running 5.1 GPe port and Nexus 5 running BoostPop and ParanoidAndroid)
Does not require root.
I would really appreciate it if you could report in the comments whether the app works on your device.
Why would you need this?
AOSP ROMs like CyanogenMod and Euphoria OS: already included, will only overwrite the preinstalled version.
Google stock ROMs (Nexus and GPe): not included, feel feel to try.
Other OEM ROMs like TouchWiz: not included, feel free to try.
Other minimalistic ROMs (like BoostPop) that don't bundle the AOSP Gallery: not included, feel free to try.

Changelog

Jul 26, 2015 - Version 1.1
Updated to CM12.1 sources.
Updated translations.

For now only few devices have lollipop but starting this month sony will begin update and others too
anyway goodjob

Reserved. For when my Note 3 with a Snapdragon finally licks Lollipop.

Thank you ! That's what I've been looking for!

Could it be possible that you manage to get the cm12 sms app? I can't root my phone so I can't install the app pulled directly from the rom.zip :/ thanks.

Well, can anyone mod the app to have both Vertical scroll and Horizontal scroll. People prefer vertical over horizontal. Like the 'Vertical Gallery' in play store has that option, but it is not material design yet.

Working fine on Galaxy note 3 stock rooted.

It could be conflicting with the Gallery app already installed on your device.

Thanks for responding.
Unfortunately my Gallery App was deleted when playing with Titanium Backup

Try copying my apk into /System/Apps. Or you can just reflash the ROM zip without wiping data.

I tried copying your APK to System/Apps folder, but no luck. Will reflash the ROM and let you know the output. Thanks.

Copied to system/app and set permissions to 0644, but when I attempt to edit an image it force closes.
I imagine this is due to missing lib's, although I do see that they are included in the apk, any ideas?
I have a Nexus 5 running stock 5.1.1.

The easiest easy is to just install the apk instead of dropping it in /system/app. The apk has been packaged in a way so that the libs get installed automatically.

I've been searching Hi & low for this! Thanks!! @Brad331

Works on my galaxy grand prime running 5.0.1 thank you. Is there a way to have a settings to hide the videos???

Thanks

[MOD][I9505/G][AOSP][4.4]Qualcomm optimized Dalvik + Bionic Android 4.4 libs

Hello Everybody,
as mentioned in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2537299, Moto X 4.4 update brought us Qualcomm optimized Dalvik and Bionic libraries, which seems to work on other devices as well. There are several posts around describing performance boost. Let's test and see.
I've repackaged it for SGS4 Google Edition 4.4 ROM (Jamal's) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2544474 and prepared also Uninstaller. To uninstall, you can also re-flash the ROM (no need to wipe data). It works well with mentioned Google Edition ROM according to my tests. It may or may not work with other 4.4 AOSP ROMs...
DISCLAIMER: No warranty whatsoever.
IMPORTANT: Do a full backup before testing.
NOTE: There are some uncertainties about ODEX/DEODEX and how does it work with ART. Test and let us know in this thread.
More information about the libraries: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47707613&postcount=2021
All credits go to the authors of mentioned posts.
Attached following CWM flashable ZIPs - installer (motoX_4.4_qcoptimized_sgs4ge.zip), uninstaller (motoX_4.4_qcoptimized_sgs4ge_undo.zip) and original motoX installer (motoX_4.4_qcoptimized.zip, use this one if you run a ROM different to Jamal's, my installer skips few files as they are up to date in Jamal's GE 4.4 already). Flash it, clear cache, dalvik cache (to be on the safe side) and reboot. Good luck!
Nice creation

works very fine on my 4.4 GSG4
It´s a bit faster, but not so much.
your mod work with custom rom in 4.3 [XXUEMK8] or it's only for GE base ?
EDIT :I've my answer, for aosp 4.4. THX
can anyone post benchmark results before and after the patch?
I will give it a try on my GS 4 with aosb custom rom and i will report back
Update: It doesnt work after boot my phone hang up on a random error first time says that Themes has stopeed working and after that that com.phone stopped working.
so, if i've an other Google Edition (BoBCatRom V1 GE 4.4.2) i can install this one : motoX_4.4_qcoptimized.zip ? THX in advance.

AOSP too i think, with my s4 is more smooth. Maybe not more fast or just a little bit but more smooth.
Is it the same as this thread?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2625186
Generally yes, plus they have binaries for CM11.
They don't provide dalvikvm and dexopt binaries for some reason though. (Maybe it's not necessary, can't say)
Will motoX_4.4_qcoptimized_sgs4ge.zip work with Danvdh's GE ROM? Or, do I need to use motoX_4.4_qcoptimized.zip?

[Q] Where to get original Cyanogenmod APKs that work for stock Nexus 5 firmware?

I'm currently using stock Nexus 5 firmware but would like to have some of Cyanogenmod apps too .
Like cLock widget, file manager, torch, sound recorder.
I'd like to get them from official Cyanogenmod website as I don't trust APK files distributed by third parties.
However when I extract APKs from latest Cyanogenmod M release for Nexus 5 (currently cm-11-20141008-SNAPSHOT-M11-hammerhead.zip) some of them forceclose on start .
So I extracted the apps I need from latest stable release for Nexus 4 (cm-10.2.1-mako.zip) and they seem to work fine.
But is there a way to make APKs from Nexus 5 Cyanogenmod releases work on stock Nexus 5 firmware?
Are APKs in Nexus 5 Cyanogenmod builds any different from APKs included in Cyanogenmod builds for other phone models? Or there is some kind of 'standard' Cyanogenmod APK set which is afterwards 'tuned' for each phone model?
Some may require libs or framework. For those that only require lib files, simply open the .apk in question on your PC using WinRAR or the equivalent (it is technically a renamed .zip file)
If it has a lib folder or any files ending in .so more likely than not, you'll need to move those files to system/lib before the app in question will function properly.
There's also CM Apps available in the playstore, no guarantee they'll work. But I think they've been optimised to work on any firmware as I've never had any issues with them.
Thanks for quick replys!
I guess the apps indeed need some custom CM libraries. I may try this after checking out official Lollipop firmware, not going to root untill then.
And yes, APKs from 'CM Apps' work well (app itself broke but APKs are still on autohor's website). I'm interested where did the author get them. Just by trial & error from builds on CM website or not.

They work on your ROM because your ROM has CM stuff in it. Most of them won't work at all on actual full AOSP ROMs without them, like PA.
He probably just downloaded the ROM zips and took the apk files out.

I don't think they will. We should in theory be using lollipop by now, so why bother?
So, I will rephrase it. Has Google put out a stagefright patch for 5.1.1?

I would be much more interested if we see a flashable zip file of the updated files for Lollipop users, as I don't want to dirty flash or start from scratch with setting up my device. It's just a huge PITA.

Thank you very much. That's very helpful.
My nexus 5 is rooted and has xposed installed. Would flashing these new factory images mean I would have to reinstall my apps etc?
I notice they seem to have patched versions of both kitkat and lollipop which is nice of Google.
I do agree that just a zip file of the patch would have been easier for some of us.

Copy/paste/reboot works.
CM patched libs (not flashable) http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/help/android-bug-security-risk-t3167127
remove hangouts from you're phone, and use a different messeging app, i use textra it has stagefright protection
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
Switching your SMS/MMS client doesn't protect you. Stagefright can be exploited in other apps and Web browsers you use. Upgrade to Lollipop and get it patched at a system level.

Change the permissions to 644, if needed, then reboot.
Test with https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zimperium.stagefrightdetector
libs for CM11 Kitkat 4.4.4 also needed as none are found for legacy devices such as Skyrocket S2, S3, etc.

[App] [Pixel 2 launcher] [Original-unmodified] [flashable] [user app] [Nougat] [Oreo]

Pixel-2-Launcher apk & flashable zip from Google pixel 2 (either ftom Android Oreo 8.0 or Android Oreo 8.1 DP1)
Flashable zip will enable Google now integration & simple apk will not include Google now integration.
How to..
Flash Pixel-2-Launcher zip from TWRP (as system app)
Or install Pixel-2-Launcher apk as user app.
Download:
From attachments
Any of following
Pixel 2 Launcher from Android Oreo 8.0
Pixel 2 Launcher from Android Oreo 8.1 DP1
Note: All features are working only in android oreo based ROMs. I tested all files in Nougat & Oreo based custom ROMs. Some users are reporting that app is crashing in marshmallow based ROMs. You need to give location permission manually to get weather data as launcher is not asking location permission but by default all permission are set off.
Sources: APKMIRROR
How to uninstall?
Flash Pixel-2-launcher-uninstaller (file from attachment) using TWRP or other custom recovery.
Magisk module of original Pixel 2 launcher for systemless installation is available here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-t3689509
Enjoy!

It's same as original. Use it only if original version can't be installed. Like in some custom ROMs. So if original version is working, no need to install modified one.

I have the original installed on my current ROM (current unofficial DU for Galaxy Nexus). While I don't have the Oreo-style notifications, it's actually cleaner than the original Pixel Launcher. I will likely swap the flashable version to gain Google Now integration - and I definitely like the cleaner approach this launcher takes compared to the launcher from the original Pixel.
Doesn't work on my Galaxy S8+
It keeps crashing at launch :/
But thanks for sharing !

Not working for me sony xperia Z2 6.1mm
I flashed by recovery
Not working neither in my Blackview R6 (Mediatek chip) with Android 6.
When I open the launcher, it crashes.
But the idea it was good, so, ny other option is continue using the older version Pixel Launcher that works good in my device
Thanks Dr. bathman, Flashable zip works fine on Oneplus one Nougat Tugapower 50.
