Problem:
Latest Version of LG Mobile Update prevents uses from updating firmware from kdz files.
Info:
As LG Tools relay on lg webserver to provide application updates and firmware updates it's not possible to just use the old version as it force fully update it self.
Solution:
I used network sniffer(Wireshark) to sniff all the traffic between application and LG Webserver i tracked the important urls and the data coming from LG Webserver. I created all the files with same names and with data from LG Webserver. I changes the LG Mobile Application from 1.5.4.9 to 1.5.4.8. Rest of the files has same data as LG.
How To:
1) Download http://smallsrv.com/

6) Extract the Content of Attached Zip file into C:\shttps\www
7) Edit C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\host in notepad and add the following Line
127.0.0.1 csmg.lgmobile.com
8) Enjoy Flashing firmware as usual
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1287236
Note:
This method has lot of advantage
-LG Is watching everything when you run firmware update with KDZ Method lg is logging everything you mobile No, SN No, OLD Firmware, New Firmware etc..

All work good, but at last of how to tutorial the original LG "flash tool" crash after its launched, i tried another "how to" but there it stops at 4% of flashing KDZ.
What worked for me was from the TWRP terminal command was to type:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota then hit enter type dd if=/dev/zero
of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc then hit enter and reboot.
Sorry for me English.

Help needed with Rooting Nexus S I9020T, Newbie

Hi,
I am using Nexus S since a year but now due to Google`s screw up in Jelly Bean (Wifi Issue) I have to root my phone to solve the problem as all the solutions are listed for rooted phone. I tried using the instructions on this forum but they all start with go to tools folder and all... but my question is how do I get tools folder and how to get Android SDK??!! I have no knowledge of rooting or any dev tools.. so.. can anyone please provide me a step by step guide to start with a scratch.. and not starting from an advanced level !!
btw.. I am using Jelly Bean.. (If it isn't obvious by now)
I would really appreciate the help!!
Thanks in advance!!
:good:
Hi,
I'm happy to help get you set up, but before you rush into playing with tools that can break your phone permanently, I'll provide you with some very worthwhile reading material.

Tutorial on getting a clean Jelly Bean Experience
Please make sure you read what you're getting yourself into BEFORE you do anything. Instructions to setup your SDKs follow. Good luck :good::
So first of all, you'll need to install the Java Development Kit (JDK) so that the Android SDK can run properly.
- Get the Java JDK Here.
One this is installed, restart your PC.
Now, we're ready to grab the Android Software Development Kit (SDK). This contains the tools 'adb' and 'fastboot' which are used by root methods/tools to send commands to your device.
- Get the Android SDK Here.
Once this is installed, reboot your PC again (don't skip the reboots, it ensures all your file associations are set up properly :good.
Upon rebooting, launch the 'Android SDK Manager' (with Admin privileges). From here, you are able to download and install all of Google's packages, including versions of Android for an emulator, plus their tools and drivers.
At this point, you are interested only in four packages, as shown here:

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Download and install these.
Now, in the folder where you installed the Android SDK, you will have a 'platform-tools' folder. This is the elusive 'tools' folder that people refer to
As far as root goes, I'm going to let you do a little reading first, as it's important you understand what you're doing before you attempt it. If you run into issues or need anything else, I'll stay subscribed to this thread.
Welcome to XDA, and best of luck!

After 3 days, I installed this rom successfully. Firstly you should prepare a jig usb, it will rescure you in hard brick situation. I do install as follows:
1. Download CWM Recovery v6.0.4.5 (Android 4.4 KitKat Compatible) on this site ibtimes.co.uk/install-android-4-4-kitkat-compatible-cwm-recovery-galaxy-s2-i9100-how-1434170
after that copy it into device
2. Go to download mode and use Odin to install an Kernel (Gingerbear). This kernel package have to contains CWM.
3. Boot to old CWM and install CWM 6.0.4.5
4. Reboot to recovery. After this you may still see old CWM UI but It's already 6.0.4.5.
5. Install this room according to instruction. When you do install rom first time, it will be unsuccessful. Don't worry, press UP & DOWN button at loading screen of cyanogenmod. you will be moved to CWM again. Do installation steps agains and you will get what you want.

Hi everyone,
I wrote a small app for all those having RAM/reloading issues on 5.0/CM12 based ROMs. The source is here and a direct link to the pre-compiled app can be found here or attached to this post.
But what does this app do?
In short, the cause of frequent app redraws seems to be wrongly set permissions of two files which avoid the Low Memory Killer to work as intended. Apart from that the default values in those files are set too high. A long explanation can be found here.
This app fixes both problems and automates basically everything after the device has booted up: It applies right permissions to /sys/module/lowmemorykiller/parameters/minfree (660) and writes reasonable LMK values into it. It is meant as a convenient way to fix the problem without having to hassle around with shell scripts.
I wrote it modular, so auto apply and LMK value writing can be switched off, of course

The French, Spanish, German and Swiss versions are the same file.
The Portuguese and Hungarian are the same file.
after installing, the phone appears as version V10c-214-03. With both files.
The only one I tried is France V10d.
It shows V10d-EUR-XX on software info, thought on download mode it was showing 10c.
