I was wondering if someone can port the cm12 build from the 910FY (note 4) to our 915FY. The only difference is the display.

Can someone tell me if it's possible to use the fimware from the note 4 also on the Note Edge FY version?
When i call Samsung Holland the tell me it's possible. But when i try it with odin i get a FAIL with installation.
I personally am trying to port CM 12 to the 915J but I have never done this before and with a family and full time job this could take me months. I'll try it if I can make progress.
Why would you do this, you will loose the edge screen and thus whole purpose of having this and not a note 4
..

Hello awesome people of the rooting community, I've been searching like crazy(with no luck) to find a way to get my beautiful note 3 back to root access ever since i had to buy a new one when my old one fell apart.
i figured i turn to these ever so helpful forums, to be specific its a Sprint Galaxy Note 3 running 4.4.4 NK4. The reason that's underlined is because i have yet to find a way to root the November NK4 update on the forums, YouTube, cellphone stores i know of....etc..
is it even possible? if someone can help me restore my note 3 back to its former glory it would be much appreciated cause I'm out of options and made an account just to post to these forums.
i have had some experince rooting phones(using odin, and cf auto root) but this is a new ballpark for me.:crying:
Apparently theres a note 4 root that doesnt trip knox.
I figured since note 4 and edge are similiar maybe we could get this done for note edge ?

You should ask the actual dev, he did say send him a PM if you want other devices supported. It should not be that hard for him to port it over.
I just asked the Dev nicely. I also offered to provide any data he needs from my 915V.
So is this available? I want to root my Note Edge without tripping Knox (don't want to lose the warranty). Is it possible? I have the N915G variant.

Hello I have a note 4 for us cellular I am trying to flash have looked all over every where for days can't find anything could someone please help me im lost and don't know what to do. I'm assuming it's impossible. No body will respond even administration

I have a note edge n15G .running on marshmallow.
I wanted to upgrade to either a note 5 or s7.
However s7 is a bit out of my budget for the moment .and the note 5 I do not find worthy of an upgrade in view of the non expandable memory slot and non removal battery.
Please could ANYONE help me convert my note 4 to an s7
.I tred searching on the orum but got thoroughly confused.
Please help with steps ansd links

I managed to load Dr. Ketan S7 Custom N910 rom on my n915G however it kept rebooting phone and it could not pick network. It looks GREAT tho for the minute of so I could scroll around
but not yet available for N915G, back to Marshmallow 6.0.1

. I am a newbie to Android OS rooting.
I have a Samsung S6 that used to be used on an AT&T account and I want to use it to do an experimental change to a newer and simpler version of the Android OS. The phone is not being used at this time, I am now a Spectrum subscriber.
I have installed Root Checker Pro and it reports the phone as a SAMSUNG SM-G-920A with Android version 7.0 and as not rooted.
My plan now is to use the Free-Droid - Rom installation assistant from this thread to do the rooting and OS change.

If someone could suggest a good choice for a custem ROM that is known to be good on the S6 and well tested it would be very helpful.
And any other suggestions would be appreciated too.

I recently learned that the Samsung S6 (SM-G920A) I am working on here is probably a locked and unhackable device. I had chosen to use that as a learning project because I had it on hand and it was not in use on an active phone service account at this time.
So I am marking this thread as "[SOLVED]" and am no longer pursuing getting a custom ROM on the Samsung S6 (SM-G920A).
