Yes you can, last time I am on PhilZ. No issues.

Thanks

Untick Update CM Recovery in developer options or you may have to reflash TWRP

If it tries to give you issues there should be a folder created called cm-updater or something similar. Find it and flash whatever OTA needs to be flashed...you can even do a super dooper dirty flash and just not clear anything. Works great!

Easily. You don't need root at all to have a custom recovery installed, you only need an unlocked bootloader.

Yes, but only if you haven't modified any pre-installed system files.
I have replaced few GApps with dark UI ones and couldn't use OTA anymore, as I had to modify pre-installed GApps.

[Q] Can I re-root without losing all my data?

My nexus was bootloader unlocked and rooted while on 4.4.2.
I OTA updated to 4.4.3 and lost my root.
Is there a way to re-root the phone without losing all my data or having to wipe?
Thanks in advance for the info.
Yes, flash a custom recovery or just boot into it and flash the supersu.zip.

Yeah Philz for life! lol.
Well it seems like for some reason it reverted back to stock android recovery.
Could I still flash a custom recovery and go from there?

The reason is the OTA contained a recovery. You have to flash a recovery as already mentioned earlier in the thread

Did you do a lockscreen mod? I just updated to 38R and I had to restore the stock keyguard and kernel and uninstall smooth scrolling before it worked.

Your problem is definitely a modified lockscreen, that's why it mentions cmkeyguard.apk in the error. You must be completely stock.

I recvd ota but it failed while trying to install through philz. The only think I did was volume mod manually by changing values but before I installed I went back to mixer paths and sent it back to 88 and ear to 83 but still no luck. Please help

Get the recovery flashable version of 33R from here:
http://dist01.slc.cyngn.com/factory/bacon/cm-11.0-XNPH33R-bacon-signed.zip
Boot into TWRP, perform a full wipe (system/data/cache/dalvik cache), install the zip. Now you'll be completely stock and can flash the OTA zip over the top.

Go to the smooth scrolling and modified lockscreen threads that you downloaded the mods from. Both developers have uploaded files to revert to stock. For the kernel I just googled stock 33r kernel.

Cannot upgrade from 33r to latest 38r OTA or Manually??

I'm on stock 11S XNPH33R (rooted, unlocked bootloader) with TeamWin Custom Recovery and I'm trying to do the new system upgrade but every time I try the OTA it reboots the phone into recovery and does nothing. I tried a manual upgrade by dragging the update into the root of my phone and flashing it via recovery but then it fails, so what is the problem?

You have a custom lockscreen installed, don't you? That's why the update is failing, you can't take an OTA with modified system files.

What is eu.chainfire.supersu.MainActivity Emblem?

This process is important? I was deleting SuperSU and in says that if I delete SuperSU I will delete this file too...
If you're unrooting, you don't need to keep it.
Ok, thanks.
There is a way to see if there is any modifications to the system's file?

There's an OTA checker flashable zip in general I think.
No, not in the ota, I say in general, if I want just to control of there is any modifications without flash anything

There is only one way. By flash the OTA checker zip in custom recovery. It can be found in the general forum I believe.

Ok, so I have to flash this with flashify (rooted with towelroot)
After the flash I'll have to unroot the phone and just install Lollipop with the ota?

I think the best bet for you is to read the thread about root / update in my signature. OTA is proving too troublesome. I can't hand hold you through the whole process.
I mean the zip checker

I already told you.
Ok, I've read your thread about how to upgrade to Lollipop the Nexus.
The fact is that my main pc have no working USB ports, so if I want to unlock the bootloader and stuff like this I have to use my second pc, and it is very slow (the last time to just fastboot a factory image it tooks me one hour of suffering).
I think that the method 2b is the one that is closest to my situation:
1. Unlock bootloader if necessary (This wipes data)
2. Accept OTA update
3. Fastboot flash a custom recovery image (of your choice)
4. Fastboot flash a custom boot.img (@Chainfire for basic root, @sykopompos for full permissive mode)
5. Flash from recovery, SuperSU

I don't want root, so:
2. Accept OTA update

If I have understood, the only thing that I have to do is use flashify to flash the OTA checker zip. file and than proceed with the OTA, right?
If there is another way to do this without use the PC, it will be great, but I don't know.
Is what I said right or I forgot something?
Thank you with your help anyway!

If yes, I can't flash with a custom recovery because I have the stock recovery (because I'm rooted with only Towelroot, so stock recovery and locked bootloader)

Then you can't use it! Wait for the OTA and install it.
I already have the OTA, but I think that there could be some issues, this is why I want to check if everything it's good, I don't want to brick/bootloop the device

Won't Update thru OTA

I received the OTA a long time ago but just now that I feel like updating my phone because when I tried before, the update just won't install. Is it because I have TWRP as a recovery? Whenever I install the update it just leads me to TWRP, maybe that's the problem. Am I correct? If I am, how do I install the cyanogen recovery again? Without losing any data? Thank you.
Update is from 12.0-yng1tas2i3 to 12.1-YOG4PAS1N0

You can download the latest stock recovery here:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B98G0KTJwnBFNzBFd2pRMmhvUmc
Rename it to "recovery.img" and then flash with fastboot:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Next time please search before posting, this is a very commonly asked question so the answer would have been easy to find if you had looked.
