[Q] Cannot send/receive texts and many other issues - Verizon HTC One (M8)

Hello and thanks for the help. I've got a Verizon S-OFF/Unlocked HTC One M8 (USA), and I've been flashing different roms found here for a while now. After flashing a lollipop rom (DH GPE version) I realized after a week or so that I wasn't getting 4G/LTE anymore. I tried switching network modes etc but I could never get 4G. I decided it would be best to do an RUU to get back to the basics and make sure it would still work on the stock rom, but I performed the RUU from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-htc-one-m8/development/ruu-m8vzw-4-4-4-s-off-onlynewest-t2914914 and I still couldn't get LTE. I then took my phone to Verizon and had them give me a new SIM card. They couldn't get LTE to work either. After this, I flashed an old backup (I believe it was a GPE edition of 4.4.4) and LTE was fully functioning, but after a few hours of use, I couldn't receive any text messages. I could send SMS and MMS texts and they would send/be delivered just fine, but I could never receive any in return. I tried this in both the standard Messages app as well as Google's Messenger- same thing. Many Sense based roms no longer work on my phone. What happens is on the initial boot, instead of going to the "HTC Setup" page, it just hangs on a white HTC Logo where the back and home buttons are present but don't function, the nav bar is visible, I can change volume/use power button settings, look at the lockscreen, but can't get to the home screen. I end up having to use the APM to get to recovery and flash something else.
In a nutshell: NO Lollipop roms will give me LTE, RUU back to stock didn't get me LTE, new SIM didn't get me LTE, most Sense based roms fail to completely boot, old GPE 4.4.4 rom (backup) and other GPE 4.4.4 roms give me a fully functional phone with LTE, but will not receive text messages (can send them) or will allow me to do both for a few hours but then stop working. I should mention that in the Sense based roms that do boot, I can send and receive messages just fine in CDMA mode, but obviously don't get LTE, and when I switch to global, I get LTE but can't receive texts. The last thing I tried was a full RUU and then a factory reset from the bootloader. This didn't work either.
At this point, I would love to just have a completely stock phone that is fully functional.

Any help getting everything working would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you very much in advance for any help.

Update
Update : clearing all cache in recovery and fixing permissions solves the issue with texts temporarily. Anyone have a clue what's going on?

Google Messenger has known issues. You'll have to cancel any pending messages from Google Messenger then switch to something else such as Stock messages or Textra.

[Q] Nexus S 4G 4.0.4 issues with radio

So I've been trying to upgrade my phones from a custom ROM to the official 4.0.4 releases on Nexus S 4G. So I flashed the IMM76D signed zip (flashable one) and got it working. A bit after this, I noticed that I wasn't getting SMS messages. I'm not going to bore you guys with a backstory, so I'm just going to say what I did.
I used "SMSC Updates" found on the Cyanogenmod Wiki to update my SMSC settings (tried all of the following numbers: 07918188561627F7, 07917140140000F0) after seeing it as a suggestion somewhere else about SMS issues. I re-flashed the radio (the new one that released with 4.0.4), and I still cannot get it to work.
I've tried several ROMs, too. Un-rooted, re-rooted, had problems with recovery (solved those, though), and re-rooted again. Also, attempting to use 4G settings crashes the phone.
Does anyone have any suggestions for what I should do? As far as I know, I'm able to send SMS, but not receive. Could this be a Sprint issue?
Thanks.

When you say new radio, do you mean LC1? I have had that radio for a week and all is good. If I were you I'd take a screenshot of my current setup and post it on here. I would try to, if you haven't already updating Prl and Profile and call Sprint and get them to reprovision your phone.
Hope you get it fixed soon. Sorry I couldn't be of more help..
xation:
Have you resolved your SMS issue?
My wife's S4G is doing the same thing after OTA: can't send, only receive SMS. MMS, on the other hand, are fine.
I've also tried the mentioned CM SMSC update, did not work; tried (*#*#72786#*#*) re-provision, but no luck.
Running out of ideas...
Just a follow up:
I installed Go_SMS, un-installed Handcent, and SMS started working!

Solution if you are stuck on 2G!!

i found the solution for those stuck on 2g speeds here in the US after flashing an RUU....your phone is probably on ICS 4.03 or 4.04 after you installed the official tmobile RUU...you have to keep checking for software updates on your phone until you get the official JB update installled from tmobile (it was officially posted at the end of April and available as a manual download through the "check software updates" option on your phone). i had to check for updates and install them about 5 times because the RUU i used restored my phone to ICS 4.03...i kept updating until i got to JB (it's going to be very large file, over 600mb).
IMPORTANT!!! --> after the update, your phone will still be stuck on 2g speeds....you them have to do a FACTORY RESET...yes, you have to wipe everything from your phone so make sure you backup to your laptop or something like that and then do a factory reset....once your phone reboots, it should now get 4g speeds (hspa+)...i read through alot of threads since my phone was stuck on 2g after i restored to the official tmobile RUU and finally got it to work after incrementally updating through the "check for software updates" option til the official JB update was installed.....good luck and hope this works for most of those that were stuck on 2g after the previous update!
I tried the above and it did not work. The following did, however, and I GOT 4G BACK on my HTC One S!!
I did not ever have S-OFF, I tried pretty much everything I could think of in terms of factory resets, flashing tons of different ROMs, bootloaders, even going completely stock again with RUU. I'm pretty sure it's a lost cause and a waste of time.
Solution: I relocked my bootloader and sent it in to HTC because I was still on warranty. They had it back to me in a week's time, and 4G now works fine. I'm going to try to find out what they did, whether it was hardware or not. Note: I did get it back with the bootloader being "locked", not "relocked".

Hi,
Did you find out what changed on your new HTC ONE S that fixed the Stuck on 2g issue?

4G? You mean 3G? HOS doesn't support 4G. Anyway, glad you fixed it! Considering the bootloader is locked again, I'm guessing they swapped a few parts?
I'm going to try this. I've been stuck on 2G ever since I updated my HBOOT to use 3.4 Kernel ROMs. I will get back to you to see if this method works for me.
how would you go about doing this method if you are coming from a custom ROM?
I'm on UnKnown v1.8 with S-Off on HBOOT 2.15 if that helps.
Yes, I suppose in the interest of accuracy I got H+ back, which shows as "4G" on the Sense UI. I'm really not sure what they did or how I would find out. According to the timeline they gave me it looks like they only had it in repairs for half a day or so, so it was either a simple hardware issue or some kind of deep software reset I wasn't able to access.
doesn't work. tried it the same exact way you said and it didn't work.still on 2G

[Q] T-Mobile Data EDGE

Recently S-OFF and SuperCID and lost T-Mobile 4G speeds. Have been going through the forum for a few weeks now looking to resolve this problem. This includes numerous wipes back and forth trying different solutions, currently back to S-ON and SuperCID TMOB010 without any luck.
Is anyone aware of a working solution to restore 4G connectivity without getting a new phone? I'm out of warranty and do not wish to use insurance to swap it out (deductible)

im having the same problem after flashing the new firmware/RUU to get hboot 2.15 which was required for cm10.1.3 stable rom; i followed these directions here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2322755&highlight=lion
the rom flashed fine, but i couldnt stand the lockscreen delay so i went back to cm10.1 experimental. Thats when i noticed no more 3g/4g, only edge (i believe i didnt have 3g/4g on 10.1.3 stable either). Whenever i force 3g and switch airplane mode on then off, i have 3g/H+ speeds for a few minutes (so i dont think the hardware is fried or anything), but then it loses signal altogether until i allow edge again. i think i found a potential fix here... but i have no idea what to do with the link:
http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/48342/
from post #6516 from the [ROM][S4][WIP] CM10.2 on HTC One S [official nightlies] thread in the htc one s development forum. can i get some help on how to apply a patch? thanks!

This is actually a a merge request from their revision system and if you look carefully, the change has been merged to the CM10.1.3 branch and the release candidates too. That means that it is not in the official updates of cyanogen mod. If you got 10.1.3, you should be getting this fix in the updates, plus it's kind of old, you probably already have it.
Not sure if this fixes anything

[Q] no signal...any help appreciated

picked up a used m8. Which had cm11 pre installed (fine with me it's what I'm used to running on my old galaxy nexus) just picked up a new sim card today and put the new sim in and it should be active but it wont pick up any vzw service (no bars just the empty triangle like shape) Any thoughts on how to get it to pick up signal?
When I hold vol down and power on I can see the following
CID - VZW__001
HBOOT - 3.16.0.0000
RADIO - .89.20.0321
OS 1.55.605.2
Appears to have the new radios and software.....
Normally, I would just restore the backup but there was no back up on the phone.
My first thought is to try flashing the most recent radios to see if that's it, but can this be done through .zip file in cwm or twrp? Or must they be flashed via fastboot?
Second thought is to reflash the stock 4.4.2 ruu then do factory reset.
Third thought....Is there anything else that I can do?
I wanted to get input from those who are more knowledgeable than myself on what would be the best method for proceeding..
Thanks

The info you posted isn't the new radios or the new firmware. Try flashing the 4.4.3 firmware from my firmware thread..update that an see what happens. You can find my firmware thread in Vzw m8 development.
OK I'll give that a try and report back
Ok I followed the directions and now I get signal in the triangle and an LTE connection. (Thank you Tigerstown much appreciated)
Now, When I hold vol down and power on I can see the following
CID - VZW__001
HBOOT - 3.18.0.0000
RADIO - 1.09.20.0702
OS - 2.21.605.2
but when I go to place a call it says "Mobile network not available"
After CM boots When I go into Settings > then about phone> then status everything looks normal shows verizon wireless under network but a few lines below under Service State is says "voice: Out of service, data: in service"???
Any ideas on what else I should do to get it to be able to make phone calls? Should I try flashing the radios via fastboot? Since I just used the sdcard method mentioned in your post instead of the fastboot method to update?
and strangely enough also under status a few lines below that it shows Mobile network state of connected.
feel like I'm close, just missing something.....Anyone more knowledgeable than myself have any ideas to get it to be able to make calls?
Thanks

So I downloaded VZW stock pre-rooted rom and as soon as I booted up everything started working as it should. Didn't even get to removing sd or re-flash stock recovery or factory reset. I might do that eventually as I do want to go back to CM or maybe viper rom. But I def. wanted to report back and say thank you for your help! I really appreciated it!

"No Service" in LTE coverage after update to 5.01

I recently flashed from stock to 5.01 and since then I get the "No Service" notification when I am in certain LTE coverage areas but the service bar shows 4G almost full bars.
My mobile data setting is set to Global, and if I am in the settings page the "Mobile Data" tab shows "disconnected"
I used a nandroid after a few days to get back to my previous ROM and still had the same problem. So I used an RUU to reflash 4.4.4 stock, still same issue.
I'm no expert but I'm not new to this either. I've rooted and flashed custom rom's since EVO 4G came out.
I know I'm missing something, I just don't have enough technical experience to figure this out.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
I'm in the same boat man. I flashed the 5.0.1, and I have not had LTE since. Just as lost as you are bud. Heres to finding a solution. :^)
I have found that since my post that sometimes if I turn airplane mode on for a minute, then back off I will get a connection, although not always and sometimes not for very long..

I have not, and I should still be on stock recovery from the RUU.
Is that function any different in the hboot vs. a custom recovery like twrp? Sorry I am not doubting you, just want to understand more about what certain processes like this are doing.
THANKS
