[Q] Swiping Notifications - Sprint Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am having a problem when swiping to dismiss a notification in the pull down menu.
Recently I noticed that when I have multiple notifications for a single app, if I dismiss one it will dismiss all for that app.
Example:
I use Inbox for my email and I use multiple accounts. If I get an email from each account, it shows them separately which is great. But when I swipe one away, it automatically dismisses the other.
This is very frustrating especially for emails and my to-do list app. If I mark one done it dismisses the other and I can do anything with it. This just started happening in the last week or so. Not sure if I accidently switched a setting or what.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
I have a Sprint S5 Rooted, Xposed, stock android 4.4.2

[Completed] [Q] Contacts went missing

I have a weird problem, I did a search and finally decided to open a thread here because nothing could help me out of this trouble. My father owns a Galaxy Core mobile and he is really new to android OS. He was trying to save a contact which he received through message from some one else and while saving that contact he played with some options (I guess Gmail Sync) and now many of old contacts have gone missing. I checked the "Contact to display" is set to all and still those contacts are missing. I rooted the phone and tried to recover the contacts through few recovery applications but no help there too. Today I came across to Gmail sync last date & time and that's exactly the same date & time when my father was trying to save that contact. Right now I am getting an error at the bottom of that screen "Sync is currently experiencing problems, it will be back shortly." Can someone please help me because my father has lost more than 100 contacts and really needs them back. Thanks in advance
Hi,
Since this doesn't sound like a device specific error, you could try asking for help here,
> Android Development and Hacking > Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Or you can ask in your device section, Here...
> Legacy & Low Activity Devices > Samsung Galaxy Core > Galaxy Core Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Good luck!
Thank you. Thread closed.

[Completed] [Q] User defined icon placement - is it an option?

First of all, i have lurked in several threads but am still a novice in the xda community - so allow me to apologize in advance for posting a question that may very well be asked in the wrong thread. I know this community has an abundance of knowledgeble members, so this was my first destination to find the answer I was looking for.
Q:
Is there a way (without root preferably?) anyone is aware of to create a user defined system for placing newly downloaded app icons on my desktop?
I am very particular about aesthetics when it comes to my phone, and i absolutely hate icons being placed in what seens to be an almost random pattern.
I want to be able to create a user defined placement system that chooses the exact page, column, and row in which the next icon will be automatically placed after it is downloaded. There should be an order of importance that i could set so my device knows that if 'x'spot is taken then the icon instead goes 'y'.
I hope this made sense.
I generally use Nova Prime as my home screen replacement, and my device is running 4.4.2.
I am not currently rooted (but rooting is an option if thats the only way to make it happen).
Thanks in advance for any help i receive.

[Completed] Weird problemas with Lenovo k3 note

I hace a rooted Lenovo k3 note phone, and while configuring it I stumbled upon 2 problems.
The first one, that I've found information about but haven't been able to fix, is that when on a downloaded launcher and try to add a widget, a pop up appears saying "unfortunately, settings have stopped working" and the widget doesn't stick to the home screen.
The second one is one that I haven't found any info about it. When opening Google calendar and when I try to add a new appointment, a toast appears saying "calendar is denied to Modify calendar". What's that ask about and how do I fix it?

Hello, and welcome to XDA!
Unfortunately, the K3 Note doesn't have a particular forum, rather a tag in the device search box. As such, I have to be careful on what link to suggest. I find visibility for your fellow device owners key, so my best course of action is to clump a question with a similar question.
Please create an account, so you can post in other forums. From there, please check out and add a post to this this thread:
> Android Development and Hacking > Miscellaneous Android Development > Lenovo K3 Note "unfortunately notification center has stopped"
And then I realize you may not be able to post there out of the gate...D'oh! :silly:
If that's the case, make a new thread in this forum:
> General discussion > Questions and Answers
After adding your question and question text, but before pressing submit, add this word combo to the Tags field (if it's there):
k3-note
This allows your post to be associated and visible to your fellow users, even if it's a roundabout method
Hope this helps, and good luck!

Status bar can be dragged on locked phone (fingerprint lock)

So I have a Galaxy S6, and up until recently, it was working fine, but after I installed a couple of apps (Lucky Patcher, Busybox free, Freedom and a modded version of google play store) I have been able to drag down the status bar from my lock screen, given the fact that I use the fingerprint lock. I would like to find a way to disable this "feature", thank you in advance.
Hi,

I will have your thread moved to the Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting forum so that you can receive help from experts. Please note that in order to respond to any posts, you will need to create a XDA account.

[Completed] Bluetooth hacking for android

Hi, I recently paired my samsung galaxy note 5 bluetooth with a stranger, who wants me to transfer a video i was taking for an event. I paired and transferred the video over to him but I cancelled it mid-way coz the file was over 700MB in size. The whole process probably took about half to 1 minute. My concern here is whether within that short period of time, was there any possibility that my phone would have been compromised, hacked and my personal data taken ? Thanks.

Hello, and welcome to XDA!
It's conceivable. BlueJacking, BlueSnarfing, and BlueBugging exists. And personal info is rather small. Not to freak you out, in that time it's possible for the other device to download your encrypted passwords top be cracked at a later point.
Probable is a different question. Depends partly on how much you trust this stranger. Personally, I would be looking to change my passwords just in case.

Hi Jim, thanks for the info and pointing out to me the right threads to go to. I will post my questions in the relevant threads. I have also registered myself an XDA account.
On your comments on resetting the passwords, I think I will do it. Though it will be quite a big exercise. But better to be safe than sorry. Anyways, curious to know, besides my encrypted password,s what are the other data that someone might be able to retrieve via bluetooth within that short period of time?
Cheers,
Raymond

I'm no expert on security; what else comes to mind is IMEI and cell phone number, maybe even address book. Unlike the password things, there really isn't any control over mitigating that.
Hopefully your encounter was on the up-and-up.
